I've tried out four (five if including the stock) ROMs so far (Bionix, Trigger, Bi-Winning, and GCR3), and I have trouble in using the stock camera, Gallery, and Music player with all. Each time when I flash a ROM, camera, Gallery, and Music player all work fine at the beginning, but after one usage or two, problem starts to show up:
1) Camera initially works fine, but then it does not give me the view of the photo after each shot.
2) Gallery initially has no problem loading up the photos, but then fails to find anything from the sd card. In contrast, QuickPic never fails.
3) Music player initially has no problem loading the songs, but then fails to find anything from the sd card. However, MortPlayer works fine all the time.
I even tried formatting the sd card, but it didn't solve the problem either. Anybody have clue or similar experience? Thanks in advance!
(I moved to Photon 4G)

Ok so the Stock music player will not find the music I have on my SD Card for some odd reason. I installed PowerAmp just to check if it was an SD Card issue but that finds and reads the Music just fine so I really have no idea what is going on. Also had this thing installed on my HTC Vivid and the music is found, same with the Atrix 2 I have. So it seems it is just this phone, any ideas would be helpful. So far I have tried UnNamed Rom, Perception, and Lidroid...all three exact same results. Oh yea same with Video's as well. I can explore to them all using a file explorer but they don't show in the stock Video/Music Player, also photos from other phone does not show up in gallery.
That is odd. Mine has never had an issue finding everything.
Use the google market to download a free song. Then throw all your music in that folder and then see if it picks it up.

Did you accidentally add a .nomedia file somewhere on the SD card?
I've had that happen before on the Infuse.
Just checked and there is no .nomedia file anywhere on the card and I also had just gotten done reformatting the card and moving files back to the card.

Just did that and the irony is that it did add it to the google music player but not to the stock music player...Nothing is showing in the Stock Music player. It is also randomly does Media Scanning. I am starting to wonder if the actual SD Reader is out of the box busted. I bought this thing through Amazon, can I just take it to an AT&T store and get a replacement through them or should I go directly through Samsung or am I stuck requesting a new phone from Amazon?
I was able to get the music noticed but I had to move it to the Internal Memory...Not the solution I need but works temporarily unless anyone has any better ideas.
Just figured out how to find out if it is hardware or software related...Gonna flash Miui and if it still has issues than it is most def. hardware considering this card works perfectly fine in the 4 other phones I have.
Well that pretty much just confirmed my suspicions of the card reader having issues considering it is doing the same exact thing in Miui Rom that is using a totally different Stock Music Player. Now I get to have the fun of figuring out where and how to get a new one.
So new information that i thought i ought to share for anyone having issues like this. i had a bunch of backup apks on the card and some where down the line one of them got corrupted so for some reason this phone pickes up on it when all the others would just skip it and continue scanning for media this one stopped. so if you run into this issue try deleting your backed up apps or before doing that back them up to your pc than bring them back 1 by 1 until you find the culprit.
I just transfered from the Vibrant to the Amaze (love it so far) but for some reason, the gallery app is not picking up my Vibrant files.
I had a bunch of different folders on there, like my camera photos, dowloads, videos.
All of the photos and videos I took with my Nexus One show up just fine, but none of the ones from the Vibrant. Am I missing something here? Also, the HTC music app pulls all my MP3s from the SD card, but Google Music does not. Maybe I need to run the Rescan Media for that, but it didn't fix the gallery issue.
Just a thought: The Vibrant has internal storage that behaves like an external memory card. Is it possible your Nexus One stuff is on the MicroSD card, but the photos you took with the Vibrant are not, but instead were in internal storage?

Install a 3rd party app for viewing photos like quickpic, see if the pictures show up there.. maybe somehow your vibrant pictures ended up in a folder with a .nomedia file?(that would keep it from being scanned by stock software)
I haven't used google music in a while, but I thought you had to manually set the media locations to scan? I highly doubt that it has anything to do with coming from a vibrant.. I would definitely verify that you can find the files with file explorer and try to open them manually to make sure they aren't corrupt or missing.
I think 2ndHalfCor was right about the photos. The Vibrant in itself does act as an external device, which I am assuming is where the photos are stored
As far as Google Music goes, I don't see an option to select a source for my songs. It only shows the few that I bought with the service
Has anyone a solution to making the Video player find videos on the microsd card?
My daughter has a Galaxy Wifi 5.0" player running Gingerbread (the leaked official version).
Up till recently she's relied on the internal memory, but want to store more videos and music, so I bought a decent fast sandisk 16GB card for her.
I moved the videos off the internal directory (from /mnt/sdcard/Video to /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/Video) and the video player seems to cache the old location and won't find the new, but gives a stupid misleading warning about unsupported file format.
I've searched the forum and elsewhere to find a solution but nothing obvious springs to mind.
I am surprised at the Gal Wifi's choice of mount point for the external card, is this normal?
Forget the stock video player, try <this one>
well, this is very odd. after much experimentation of moving the videos back to the internal flash and them not playing, I renamed them all by sticking i_ at start of file name.
I then copied them back to the "external" - microSD card - flash and stuck e_ at start of file name. I then removed the movies (which doesn't actually delete the files, it simply takes them out of the list). There's then an "add" function which adds movies back into the list.
I think by reconnecting as USB mass storage and copying files around, the movie player app then somehow reindexed the files and everything began to play.
So somewhere there's a cache of file names and locations and it got confused, so by renaming the files

VLC is okay, but it is a beta at the moment so it crashes a lot.

Samsung Fail
Samsung does a poor job in these updates.
I still use Froyo G70XXKD6 because all GB were a joke, including the latest G70XXKPL. Samsung started with lack of SOUND ALIVE, originally present in froyo XXKD6. And no, nothing could replace the sound produced by Sound Alive. I tried everything. I leave an honorable mention to n7player. Their equalizer was the most efficient for my ears. The other "famous players" are just cute.
In this latest update was the camera. If selected macro mode, after switching to the front camera this mode is locked.
Samsung updates are an eternal frustration.
Result: Back to good old xxkd6 with sound alive . For those who prize the main function of the G70 - PLAYER, this rom ends up being irreplaceable.
Looked around the thread for my issue and seen some things that come close, but not exact.....I cannot play music on my google play music app. I get the "cannot play track requested" error message when I try to play music. All the same songs worked fine before I loaded this ROM, and I love the Rom but this issue may end that love quickly. Im a runner, and require music. I have tried turning off various modules that would affect music or media, or storage in order to try and zero in why precisely google could play one album and not the other. (Currently only one "As I Lay Dying" album will play and no other music will play). I have tried everything from simply rebooting, to uninstalling/reinstalling the app, clearing the cache, clearing the data, etc....I have all my music stored on my ext SD card, and it plays fine through the stock rom(I have safestrap for galaxy s4 me7). but as soon as i switch to my ROM Slot 1(GPE) I can't get the music to play. I have tried moving one song from the ext SD card to the internal storage, and I get the same result. I doubt its due to the file type of the songs(wma, mp3) as both types play on google play music on my stock rom slot. I'm at a loss currently, and dont want to have to keep rebooting to switch to the stock rom slot just to listen to music. have I missed this issue earlier in the thread? I looked for a while, but there are 2 hundred and some odd pages, and search results came up with stuff that were about music, but were of a different nature. Have I missed something obvious that a newbie would miss? obviously by my profile, im a user and not a dev. but I would appreciate any help from anyone who may have run into this issue or could help resolve this problem, love the rom, best one by far, would be a shame to dump it for the music problem. Thanks again, Semper F***** Fi
Have you tried using a different music player to see if it's just that particular player? I'm not one to push people to buy apps, but if you're a music lover and you're not using Power Amp you're really missing out... might be worth a shot to try that to see if it'll play your music.
I recently added all my music (roughly 90GB of music) to a Sandisk 128 GB Class 10 microSD. I put this microSD into my phone and my music players were unable to locate all the music. I don't know how, but at one point, all my music was finally scrollable. After some tinkering with the ".nomedia" file, all my album artwork showed up in my gallery. I've since then installed QuickPic to deal with that annoyance. However, I have been unable to look at all my music again. The majority of my music are in one big folder with no name in the stock music player. In Shuttle, every song in it is called "null - null". If I click on the album, Shuttle crashes. When I go to the songs tab, they're all there and playable, but are still under null-null and makes it very difficult to browse and select the music I want to listen to. When using file explorer (ES File Explorer), I can see all the artist folders in my Music folder perfectly fine. How can I restore my phone's ability to view my entire library of music?
I've yet to try deleting everything off the card, and then retransferring, but that's a real pain in the butt that will take forever and I would rather do that as a final option (though I don't know if that would even help).
I have tried deleting my music players' data and uninstalling/reinstalling them. I have tried restarting my phone and unmounting/mounting my SD card, but still no luck.
Oh, and I am rooted on QF6 Hybrid Nougat ROM on T-Mobile S7.
Have you tried another music apps besides shuttle to work with, eg. Poweramp, black player?
Any possibilities your sdcard is corrupted or something, I mean like incompatible file system, fat, fat32, exfat, ntfs that maybe not compatible with your current roms kernel?
