Differences of ADWLauncher, GO launcher and LauncherPro
Good morning All,
Android is still fairly new for me. Currently, I have found the launcher for me.
Here I found next to the HTC Sense ADWLauncher, GO launcher and LauncherPro. All three times I've seen.
Now I could not find huge difference between the three. I would like to choose one likes, but this decision is totally hard.
Do you have experience with one or all of these Launsch made? Which do you prefer and why? What do you think are the differences?

aha i looked up in the market and i must say its a little bit too much 3D, but i am sure its one of the best, when i see the price i dont wonder that it is more developed than the others
one question it is laggy on x8 ??

i read somewhere that the lancher pro developer working on new version with much more posibilies of settings!
i will wait till it is out when i am not excided of the new one i will change the luncher!

Maybe a little bit, but it works just fine!
I use the Luncher Pro and it is very nice, but is there a difference between Luncher Pro and Luncher Pro (PLUS)??
Im using the ADW Launcher cause its faster than others on my X8

LPP & ADW great
Go Launcher great
Crazy Home - Pretty good & Fast. This one can use Open Home and ADW themes
Launcher Pro is good (widgets)
I like adw launcher ex especially with this theme and it also has alot of good features, well worth the money.

Go launcher EX is also a good launcher with cool features...
I love the HeLauncher because it has so many themes
It all comes down to personal preference... I like LPP and ADW Launcher, since it seems that they run the fastest on X8...
spb shell 3d is good,but makes running games little bit slow
soon as I flash Racht's roms I put on ADW and delete LP... Still liked Go Launcher better than LP... ADW seems lighter than the other 2 but I must admit it's got less features too.

I prefer HeLauncher, it's got the stock Android Froyo and Gingerbread launchers along with the HTC Sense Launcher and the Motorola Launcher all packaged together along with some custom Launchers based on the stock and Sense Launchers.

GO launcher is a modified version of LauncherPro and very slow，I don‘t like
I hate spb for it is too slow...i am using SE arc luncher...

I am not satisfy with Android home and HTC sense UI. I use Helix Launcher it really great, it has greater view of icons. And it even support landscape view.. very cool . But on my rom it sometimes shows FC .
So, kindly suggest me best Launcher with landscape support.

A very good launcher is ADW.Launcher, search for it on the market!

You can change that in the options. First thing I did..
Launcher Pro is very simular to Helix,and it work great.
I'm pleased with GDE. I used almost all the launchers, but this one suits me most.

Yesterday installed ADW.Launcher, GDE sucks Also, GDE 0.4.0.9 is a bit buggy, all the widgets may disappear for unknown reason.
I vote for launcher pro.. It's better than ADW launcher.

The best thing you can do is to try them...the bests are : go launcher ex, launcher pro, adw ex, launcher 7. Try them all and choose your preferite...everybody advise a different laucher =) I've done this and I've chosen launcher pro...
Hi guys, can you please tell me which home replacement app is the best for Mini pro? It needs to have low battery consumption but beautiful themse. I don't like ADW because the themes are ugly to me. I'm currently using Go launcher Ex but I'm not sure this is the way to go.
Another thing, do go waether widgets consume a lot of battery?

No one can tell you which the best. Everybodys taste is different. Batteru consumtion i dont think is a big problem with a different launcher. Myself i am using launcher pro now. But i switch from adw, launcher pro and se arcs launcher

Some people are reporting better battery life with Zeam, personally I don't see a difference. Also, Zeam removed scrollable widget support (temporarily). ADW is what I use as primary launcher, Launcher Pro as my secondary. I find Go Launcher too much.
Personally, I prefer Go Launcher EX, it can resize widgets, has themes, built it task killer in the app drawer, recent apps view, folder support in app drawer, app hiding, and a lot more.
Used GO Launcher EX but I moved back to Launcher Pro due to GO Launchers performance issues....

I've tried ADW and Launcher Pro Plus and I think Launcher Pro has better performance so I only use that now. ADW seemed too laggy to me.

Try HeLauncher, its very simple and the themes look good.
for me go launcher ex and launcher pro are the best both have nice theme
Well am using the SE home launcher with 4 Corners, from GinTonic slade's newest rom
and it's freaking awesome

yeah am using MiniCm7 v5 it works without any problem ..
i prefer GO launcher.They have a great variety of widgets & themes.
Battery wise I don't think any of them make any difference. Just as long as you don't have live wallpapers or fancy 3d effects i remember they all felt very well optimized.
Eventually my favorite launcher comes down the one in the MIUI roms, I really don't see the point of redundant links to applications on the desktops and the drawer.
As someone else said though, it comes down to preferences.

well zeum launcher is really fast
launcher pro is good to but only if you have the payed version, because it keeps asking to buy the full version, when you try to move a widget.
adw launcher is great, it got a lot of functions and is very customisable
but now i use the se 4 corner of the sonybread v7 sp2
When it comes to preferences, then zeam launcher is the best, because you can choose for example:
-You can choose what action does what like swipe up is opening application drawer.
- Or home button for dailer etc...
but now I really love the se arc laucher because it's just like the 2.1 launcher only better
ps: srry diden't try go launcher yet

I use the honeycomb launcher beta
Because it is so simple and easy to use but since its in beta phase it doesnt respond quite well but other than that I love it and it fits my need of honeycomb and it fits cyanocomb ;-)

i use the stock sony ericsson one no matter what dicks they are i still like their launcher with the 4 corners but i use the updated version
LauncherPro, quick, looks good and have all features, that I need
LauncherPro, the fastest there is. ADW is okay, but it is slow compared to launcherpro, and 4 corners, ha, seriously? If you have a lot of apps, your thumb will get strong scrolling through the app deck xD

I also use Go Launcher, It is really quick and customisable but it does have a really annoying quirk of getting all messed up with changing from landscape to portrait or vice-versa. Only happens occassionally but is quite annoying!
I'm the only one around here that uses gingerbread launcher

Download Lighting Launcher, free and looks to offer the same features of TSF, just found it on the market and watching the video now..... Looking great, but will report how it compares to my other launchers-nova prime, adw ex, launcher pro...

Lightning launcher is pretty plain jane and minimal features. No comparison to the others.
IMO...
Better than Launcher Pro, and I do like the single, scrollable homepage... A little quirky though if you have the homepage able to rotate according to the accelerometer in the phone because for whatever reason you can only scroll up/down in portrait mode and left/right in landscape. Adw ex and Nova are superior but for free I can't complain at all.. With a little more development and polishing will be a great option. I'm going to give it a spin for a week or so and see how the battery performance is compared to the other launchers.

Went back to launcher pro for S&G today.... surprised by how paltry its performance is on ICS, I remember when LPP was the greatest... I had to give the app 1 star Fc's swiping between my homescreens... Smh

I'd probably user lightning launcher just for the cool falling effect of app placement. Also has anyone seen if TSF shell is working alright on our device? I've been following it for a while, but am tight on funds, so not really wanting to risk something that won't work.
Have been following TSF too, but haven't found it yet... I wouldn't side load it either... that seems like an app you would want to have your official updates pushed to you through the market because it is so new and still (hopefully) in full development stages
***to be clear this is not Lighting Launcher.... It is actually called Lighting Launcher 3, the original is soon to be depreciated from the market, and sorry for the confusion. ***
Update- I am loving the simple yet completely customizable layout ofvthis launcher, it has grown on me very quickly, and unlike anything I have used and really enjoying it... Hopefully the dev. will make some small adjustments to aid with some unique issues... for instance scrollable widgets work but they are very peculiar...

I have purchased spb mobile shell on both winmo and android and have used it enough to justify the purchase.
Haven't tried it on the rezound yet though...
interesting, installed mobile shell 3d on the rezound and it defaulted to tablet mode which makes the icon smaller (though usable), and gives you more area to install things.

are there launchers that's greater than GoLauncher and can also hide icons on the App Drawer?
I use Nova Launcher Prime.
Using Apex Launcher here. Works the best for me, but may not work for you.
Try each different one to get a feel of which works best for you

I've emailed the go team though to let them know about this...
I'll keep using it with desktop effect cylinder and app drawer effect chord which seem very smooth...try it!
Before that i've been using Apex latest beta(go in about Apex,check for updates,beta) because it's jellybean based and quite more smooth than the stable one...
When I'm on stock ROM I use stock launcher and quite happy with it.
On custom ROM's I use Apex, it feels snappier than Go.
Stuff from the GO Team are, and always have been, an overhyped embarrassment.
I used to use LauncherPro, but since its discontinued and is out of Dev for over a year I started using Go Launcher EX and it works like a charm for me.
I'm using mod touchwiz ux...i'm not a fan of widgets and icons, i only have 1 page with beautiful widget and the search bar...

Never new there was a best launcher, but my favourite is sslauncher. Can't use anything else. And it also allows you to hide apps.

I must be getting old, I am happy to live with Touchwiz.
i tried the Apex launcher pro just now, its a bit laggy like go launcher and does not have hide apps in the drawer. i got about 50 apps and i put them on 5 pages of the homescreen so i wanted to hide all those already in the homescreen.

touchwiz nature ux is good but can be better.
so they have to optimize it.
downloaded nova launcher prime and gotta try it now
well, atm i'm using the CM10 stock one.. (something like 'Trebuchet Launcher')
But idk.. there is no 'best launcher', u must choose the best one for you ^-^ take a look at holo launcher hd! its very smooth/liquid.. it doesnt support themes, but you can use icon packs ^-^ good luck
Btw: the stock icon pack is Jelly Bean one!
ADW for me
I used nova from day one and it was just ok. Lately I switched to Tsf Shell and it is by far the best launcher I have ever used. It is lightning fast and haven't had any restarts yet, so I say it is a keeper.
Of course it is in beta phase yet so there are some cons.
Too expensive.
Still in Beta phase.
The support from the devs does not exist. They never reply to mails.
