same problem here hope someone can help
Crash system server via Dev tools. But before doing that. Make sure that you you check which baseband are you using, Make sure whether its compatible with the rom.
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Check your baseband version to make sure it is correct for the Tom you flashed. If it shows unknown flash correct baseband. Also if you have dev tools app....bad behavior...then crash system server....see if this fixes it.

And I've tried *#*#4636#*#* to update gsm.... but that also showing "unknown" .i don't know what to do.... I tried CM10 also but the same result.....and also I tried older version 2.3.4 ..in that also same problem...some body please help me out of this problem....pls

why dont you try miui rom based on jokersax cm9 the aroma edition also has options to choose the network also,
i had tried that rom but that also has issues related to data i gets disconnected after a while.
do a clean install wipe system data cache and then factory reset and then wipe dalvik cache and then try installing this rom
Tried that also its also having the same exact problem.... other than 2.3.5 os all others having same issue...there's is a solution for this but I don't know that...

Yes. He needs to use the radio from 2.3.4sv1 custom sbf thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29368163
That one won't permalock the bootloader.

There is a thread floating around somewhere that explains how you can restore it if you didn't make a backup. But for the life of me I can't find it.
But it's definitely out there somewhere

I'm using the GT-I9300
I was told to flash to stock firmware but i am totally clueless to what stock firmware i should use as there are so many out there.
dude.. didn't u make a nandroid backup?
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda premium
nope, no backup was done.
I think its time for a paid repair
Use odin and restore to a 4.0.4 Firmware then reset flash counter and then update with kies to 4.1.1 and your imei should be back if it's not then return it to samsung/the place you bought it from and get a warrenty repair ( and what ever they just say u havent flashed it ever )
any idea to what 4.0.4 firmware i should flash it to.

you can fix it by using the search button , already answered 10 times...or for you:
try to reflash the rom, that worked for me, otherwise you can try the CSC changer from the market, but be careful as it will format your rom & sd card. In general CSC unknown is not a big issue (at least it was not for me, anything worked just fine).
If I was at a desktop computer id have used the search feature it also let's me know if I have dupe thread mobile app doesn't let me know. I'll try flashing stock ROM but the one I used didn't have a CSC but im sure I can find out how to do it

Yes reflash the firmware. It worked for me too.

To add into relations to my other post the reason I had to restir is cause the Virtuous Rom booted and WiFi woild not toggle on and keeps saying insert SIM.
??
I was only trying to install a good stable gsm Rom that would initially work well with apn settings seeing as I use the droid DNA UNLOCKED on T-Mobile.
I can't figure a way to keep the apn settings set after a reboot they default
So I read flashing a global gsm Rom will auto save the apns and theyll stick.
Any insight? Any good Roms that will do this for T-Mobile
And any reason or known reason on the re insert SIM issue after flashing a Rom
this is a noted problem from what I've read ,but with no Straight forward reason or solution.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Well the Wifi not working is cuz you didn't flash the kernel properly.
And for the sim error, that's just a problem with the dna. Re seat it and it should be fine.

Kernel ? Well wherws the kernel I just flashed the Rom there wasn't any link to a kernel
Anyone have it ?

There should be a link or instructions somewhere in the rom thread.

When you unzip the file there should be a boot.img file you will need to flash in fastboot. the command is fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then once you do that, boot into recovery and reflash the rom. Wifi should work.
According to both Verizon and HTC, there was a known issue with the phone software and not being able to read the SIM card. It happened to mine about ten times every week until an update was released to supposedly fix it in February. I still get the error from time to time, but far less than I did previously. If you've rooted and flashed a ROM prior to February, I would suggest making a backup and restoring the phone back to stock. Once you've done this, do the update to the new firmware and then reroot and restore from your backup. This should, I think, fix most SIM issues.
Hello.
I have flashed cyanogenmod using the installer and without the installer on my I9100 and I tried to make a phone call, but it ended immediately and said ''call ended''. I can send SMS or receive phone calls, but I can't make phone calls. Please help me I don't know what to do.

Must be some kind of bug,if you can't get any help from the CM forum try flashing an other nightly or even consider upgrading or changing ROM's like for example if you wanna keep the AOSP feeling try SlimBean or anything else you find interesting.
Edit: I checked through the CM thread and couldn't find anyone mentioning this kind of problem maybe its some issue like the basic ones, like the occasional modem problems which you can solve by flashing an other modem, or have you at least done a cache/dalvik wipe if you performed a dirty flash while upgrading nightlies or something?

First of all thanks for answering. I have tried to flash alot of roms including AOKP, PARANOIDANDROID, ReVolt and they all had the same problem. Can you explain to me waht is modem, and how can i flash it?

REALY?!?!?! 165 VIEWS, AND ONLY ONE COMMENT?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I WOULDN'T EXPECT THAT FROM XDA...
What Process exactly did you follow when flashing this CM AOKP etc? Have you use getril or flashed a modem zip through cwm at any point after flashing those roms?
Yes I tried the app getRIL, and tried to install a new modem. Do you have any other idea?

Try a nuke script and then try flashing roms or flash stock via Odin and perform a factory reset and see if the problem persists.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
What is a nuke script?
EDIT:
i understood what is a nuke script, and i have flashed the stock rom via odin. Than i have flashed CyanogenMod 10.1.3, but this time, instead of doing a factory reset, i did the nuke script, and than i have flashed the CyanogenMod 10.1.3 and than the Gapps.
The nuke script, didn't solve the problem...
Do you have any other idea, cause i'm completely hopeless...
Try generating a log file immediately after trying to make a call and if you can't understand it try posting it here , also did you try to make a call from the stock version and did the problem persist?
Sent from my E16i using xda app-developers app
I don't know what is a log file. I did try to flash a stock ROM and it solved the problem, but I do want a aosp ROM.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Read up on what a log file is and how to make it and understand it, also if the problem is happening only with CM try other AOSP builds like Revolt, SlimBean or any other CM based roms or Chameleon if you prefer a hybrid between AOSP and Stock.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I have tried to flash all of the aosp based ROMs like supernexus, aokp, paranoid android, revolt, and in all of them there was the same problem. Can you explain to me what is a log file and how to make it, cause I didn't understood what is it.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I don't know if this helps but Samsung devices like ours have problem in EFS file while flashing cm based ROMs. try backing up the EFS using app called ktool from play store while in stock ROM and restore it after flashing new ROM.
I have backed up my EFS using ktool, and it is saying that it is really dangerous to restore it, and only use it as a last resort... So should i do this or not? please answer quickly cause i need to know!
Do not restore efs if you don't have any issues with your imei. Log file is a file which lists all the activities that take place when you do a particular thing, use the app called logcat to record and save a log file, do it immediately after you tried to make a call.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Sorrt mate. I haven't had this problem from flashing different roms. Keep the EFS backup safely and try it once. I too have a backup just in case my EFS is lost.
I've already restored the backed up EFS... Is that bad?
and also i run the logcat after trying to make a phone call, and i didn't understood a **** of what was written there... Do you know what should i look for in the logcat?
Post your log file here and let one of us check it out, if possible I myself will try checking it to see whats happening and remember we need a log file made immediately after you tried making a call and after the problem happened.
