I thought 2.7.7 is the latest version? This is what CM7 is basing his kernel on?

That's a sdk port >.>
To start with 4.0 will only be galaxy nexus and maybe nexus S, then you need to wait for your phones manufacturer to tinker with it.
CM9 will be 4.0 but there waiting for source code.

ics is enough for arc i think..
Well staying on ICS is the best ATM
Without Source and SDK Porting not that working as (Daily Driver)

You can always relock the bootloader Worked when i got a warranty replacement phone

In case you all nvr read, adobe flash will be removed from the market on 15 Aug for those who haven't installed it, for those who have there will only be minor bug fix and improvement. And jellybean does not support flash well. I would prefer to stick with ics where the flash is working fine. Does not apply to those who does not use flash though.

I knew this was coming.... I DONT WANT Gingerbread! And battery life is not an issue... This is not hardly going to get used but only for a back up. I ONLY want it to play with, as I liked the way classic Froyo looked.

There was no stock froyo. There are several older attempts, most of them were incomplete... z did the best work, wolfbreak had a few nice ones though those were skinned Sony style as far as i can remember, it's all about ics now anyway. there is a cm7 theme called retro droid i believe which
Could be what you're after, though it is only for cm7.
Good luck pal, hope this helps

Is the link to cm7 froyo theme. They're also made a cm9 version too, so you're in luck since you can choose gb or ics!

CM9 was smoother on my Xperia P, but I can't tell you for gaming, try installing a custom kernel

I posted a same topic related poll!
Lets see what people think about gaming on stock or cm9
I like CM9. The stock rom of Xperia P is very slow for games.
Gaming rom based on stock still lags??

Is it possible to make a gaming Rom which based on CM9??
