[APP]Perfect Keyboard - free to XDA members!! - Vibrant Themes and Apps

**I am in no way affiliated with the developMENT or developER of this app**
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12651842
Just wanted to post this as a heads up that, at least for now, "Perfect Keyboard" is free to XDA members. You purchase it on the market and then PM the developer the transaction number, and he will issue a refund.
I got mine today, and i must say im sticking with it for a while. Ive tried sooo many keyboards but i always end up going back to Swype. I just like the look and feel of this one. Its highly customizeable, visually. In terms of function, it seems to be based off the gingerbread keyboard, with a few extra goodies. give it a shot!!! (go to original thread for the full description)

Anyone cares to comment on how does it feel compared to Swiftkey? Thanks.
By the way, I'm not a Swype person.

Personally i think its amazing, swift key is great but took some getting used to, prior to this keyboard i was using gb keyboard, this has much the same feel, but the text prediction is much much better. not to mention you can easily theme it from with in the application with out modifying the apk.
that said the text prediction in swiftkey is far different, you will type more in Perfect Keyboard, but you wont get very many errors.
bottom line swiftkey is more efficient, but i feel that perfect keyboard is just a better fit for me, very straight forward and very high quality.

Thanks Top shelf great find !!!

i agree that smart keyboard pro is a great alternative.....perfect keyboard and smart keyboard are the only keyboards i will use that arent swype......as for right now, im going with perfect keyboard because its fresh off the "Shelf" i feel what Perfect DOES need is the ability to adjust key size/height...like Smart does

This app has been amazing visually and I've been really happy with it but all day today it has be misreading my typing, randomly selecting keys all the way across the screen from where I press, lagging, not reading keys and etc. I tried restarting the phone but still have the problem. It was working fine until today, not sure whats up but hope it is updated.

[APP][OBSELETE] Shapewriter 3.09 WVGA swype-style keyboard

Edit: Nuance just released FlexT9 keyboard in the market, replaces this product...
This is the best keyboard ever made for Android. It is the original swype-style keyboard and has better error correction than Swype. It allows you to type 2x faster than Swype and with less errors! It was removed from the Android Market earlier this year (2010) due to being aquired by Nuance. Nuance has yet to re-release this gem... Below you can find the link to the WVGA that fits our MT4G screen perfectly. So bon'apetite

its debatable... with this board you can swype destinctly faster motions and the keyboard will auto suggest closer words whereas swype learns your typing habits over time so less and less errors over time with swype in theory...

[Request][Q]Keyboard to rival iOS?

Hi guys,
I've been loyal to android for about a year now, but I only have one complaint: The keyboard
Typing on iOS is easy and great, even on a small screen. Why don't we have a keyboard with that fluid usability? I've tried Swype (prefer typing), Swiftkey X, the TW4 Keyboard, stock GB keyboard, and Thumb keyboard and they all seem to disappoint a little in the shadow of iOS's keyboard.
So my question is: Is anyone working on or thinking about working on a keyboard with iOS-like functionality? I'd honestly pay $5 to download a keyboard that works like the iPhone's.
If you have any keyboard suggestions, post them below.
While I am unable to post the keyboard - as I don't have it myself - apparently the keyboard on the Galaxy S2 in Korea is the best. No issues with the patents held here in the US by Apple, so the accuracy is the same as it is with iOS.
If anyone can find it, pull it, set up an apk that will work with other Android phones, it would be appreciated!

Depends on the responsiveness of your phone actually. I have an iPod touch 4g, and I like it so much better than any android phone I've owned.

HAHA! That is why we are trying to get the other keyboard. It is (apparently) very much like the iOS keyboard and should be responsive and very accurate. I saw someone state that their accuracy went from 80% with the Android default to about 95% with the Samsung Philippians keyboard.

Not sure. I have to get the keyboard to see if it can be used on any other phone with stock ROM first. There may be a device check on the keyboard, though I do not know at the moment.
Need a daring person to try this app out. I found it from the Philippine Samsung Galaxy S2 Rom on this site. I cannot install it because I have the Samsung Keyboard already and it won't overwrite my current one - I need to root when it is good to go for the Epic Touch.
Let us know how it works.

Thumb Keyboard
I keep going back to Thumb Keyboard, it seems to have the best autocorrect and is the quickest. Also, try A.I. type, although I don't like it, I know many who do.

Don't let it fool you. It's not that cool. There's some basic features that are missing. Like swiping left/right to change the screen. Its defiantly not worth the money.
i tried it, couldnt get me away from go launcher
Go launcher beats any launcher just cause of customization and Widgets. Does this company think we are stupid? No freaking way I'm spending 17 bucks for a launcher that does nothing a free launcher does...
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
As soon as they get 360 launcher fully translated and up to par(weather app reading something besides Japan ect...) I'll be using that for awhile. 2.0.1 is pretty cool and for the price, free, it has tons of features.
That launcher is just eye candy. It does NOTHING special at all
I've been using it since it came out, it is quick and doesn't use much resources but it us hard to get familiar with, not being able to swipe the screens is very hard to get around, they could have added a long press function or menu option to activate the feature of the doted line instead of making so you can't swipe. I'm not satisfied with the price and the features are very lacking. I hope they add more features or change some things around so that its not money wasted.
I think it definetely has too much emphasis on editing/managing icons instead of actually providing an easy to use home screen. Not being able to swipe is a perfect example. It just boggles my mind that they found it a good idea to make the selection tool the default touch interaction.
Also, you should be able to lock icons/selections
I really hope this launcher improves in that department.
That said, I really like the selection tool. It's pretty much the same that "BumpTop" used some years ago. I always wanted to see this kind of tool on a touchscreen, so I was delighted when I first saw that demo vid. I hope they don't get into trouble with google (They bought BumpTop).
After about an hour or two of setting it up perfectly I kind of like it better than stock ROM .

Such stupidity, to use kinetic movement you'd need an convertor that transforms movement into energy, no phone has that.
Solar panels are a affordable and efficient way to charge a phone but kinetic motion is just stupid.
Humor, thy name is... app?

Doesn't Work
I've downloaded this app "Shake to charge" on my Desire HD, I read the market comments and knew they were cynical, I thought I try it for myself, Shaked and shaked and shaked, while simultaneously checking the battery, it went down faster, It's a troll probably a good concept troll, ben heck did an android kinetic energy converter (YouTube it) that's the only way, phone companies will not do this for obvious reasons .
I also wanted to try the "solar" charge app, but c'mon :} rly !

Lets just say it has alot of config settings for your typing needs being if your a fast typist or a presice typist. This it does reduce alot of ware and tare of your Physical keyboard. Its got a few themes stock. I would get a trial or a demo of it before, buying a product that is nearly 5 bucks on market .unless you are using "alternitives" to get such pricy applications ....
( Also i failed to add this in, it has a auto calibration for your soft keyboard. "Touch screen" just incase you like to butcher your text messages such as fat fingering and misspelling everything so it ensure you hit the right key as intended everytime . Its something similar to a calibrated heat map )
