Hello everyone,
I bought a Motorola Atrix 4G about a week ago and I need help on this matter:
I needed RTL support for my atrix so as a result I found that I'll have to root my device and go on for that matter and now I really need to return the device to AT&T before my 30 days to return the phone end.
Here's what I did step by step and that could probably help whoever needs to install one of these languages that run RTL and make them render correctly in everything except emails and browser which can be changed to firefox or mini opera to do the trick.
1- I installed phone drivers on my computer
motorola(dot)com/staticfiles/Support/Experiences/Global_Drivers/USB_Drivers_bit_4.8.0.exe
2-downloaded aRoot
Then connected my phone to the computer in USB debugging mode
ponack(dot)net/designgears/atrix/aRoot/
3- extracted the aRoot.7z and ran aRoot.bat waited until the device rebooted.
4-downloaded Adeo ROM from here
www(dot)ponack(dot)net/designgears/atrix/Adeo
and downloaded the update as well.
Then extracted the AdeoInstallerv0.1.7z ran INSTALL.bat
5-the device rebooted and it took about 5 mins
Then extracted AdeoUpdaterv0.2.7z and ran UPDATE.bat
6-Downloaded root explorer from here
www(dot)mediafire(dot)com/?g59n18vfmadm0lm
6- downloaded the framework.jar and font from here:
www(dot)fileserve(dot)com/file/Jx4wtHf
7- extracted the file and moved DroidSansArabic.ttf to the path /system/fonts/ to the path /system/fonts/ and gave it the permission USER (R/W) GROUP (R) OTHERS (R).
8- moved framework.jar and replaced the original one with it in the path /system/framework/ and gave it the same permissions as above.
9- restarted the device and it is running until i received the update from at&t and it downloads and when installing it fails and give the android guy with exclamation triangle. so I waited and pressed the power button so i got the options so i wiped the device and it still fails the update.
I need your help please to reverse this and restore my device to original and as i received it from at&t so I can return it to them.
Note: I haven't backed up the device as i thought i won't need to as it is my first android phone.
your help is appreciated.
Thank y'all for reading my post.
this should get you on your way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991072
I have seen this my friend but I'm not sure as I did wipe all data and i heard it is totally a different process if i did. as well i did a factory data reset from the settings which erased all dtat on the phone. if it is the same process even if i did that please let me know and thanks for replying.
i followed the process in the link that i pointed you to, then did a factory data reset and i think i unmounted my Internal phone storage, then formatted it and the same for my SD card.
i think that's about as wiped as you can get. someone correct me if i'm wrong...
OK. That's good.
So I'm confused now what should i download the 1.2.6 or 1.5.2 or both?
how do i know which one i need to do this?
Thank you.
I just flashed my device thank you for pointing me to the right direction buddy.
I found the version in the settings in about the phonw or all about the last thing is the number for who ever was wondering as me

Hi All,
I have a Rogers branded x10a that is currently on 020 firmware.
I'd really like to flash it to the 026, latest firmware.
However, out of the two methods I've tried, none worked.
The first method was using the X10Flash.bat file,
which gave me an error like this.
( I did connect the phone in Flash mode with the green LED )
I also did put the device ID in the folder, although I could only find one DeviceID through Regedit as opposed to some others finding more than one.

The second method i tried, was the one posted on xperiax10.net
http://www.xperiax10.net/2010/04/14/debrand-your-xperia-x10-tutorial/
With this one, I always get a install failed error.
Please point me in the right direction! Thanks for your help
Judging by the pic you posted it seems like your Java isn't set up or installed properly, which leads me to assume you're on a 64bit version of Windows.
If so, following this video (and reading the description) will fix all your problems.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbVdyoeO9V8&feature=player_embedded
EDIT: Just noticed you said you're on Rogers. I'm about to save you a few hours of raging after your update when you realise your 3G internet doesn't work.
After the update go into Settings>Wireless Controlls>Mobile Networks>Auto Internet Settings and chose "Rogers".
When you've done that, go back to the homescreen. Now, go to Settings>Wireless Controlls>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names> and click on GoRogers.
Change the APN field to "internet.com".
Now your 3G will work.
You'll thank me later

Hi Hypercore,
Thanks for replying!
However, I'm actually on Windows XP SP3, not sure if it has 64 bit or not.
The video is made for Windows 7 so I do not know how to follow it
And for the 3G problem, I actually don't use 3G right now, but thanks for thinking ahead for me !
I did notice that whenever I run it, I get a corrupt file in the temp directory. Not sure if that is the problem :/ ?
The Error baloon in the bottom right says java.exe
The file or directory C:\DOCUME~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\hsperfdata_Owner\132 is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility

Hi,
since there is root for the Sony Tablet S I try some mods and tweaks that I'am using for my Optimus 2X on the Tablet S.
I compiled the framework.jar from the 3.2.1 r2 Firmware with the Smooth scrolling and Volume step increase tweaks from AndroidON. On my Device it works perfectly, so I decided to share my work to everyone.
All credits go to AndroidON, I just complied the Stuff into the framework.jar.
Before you decide to test this framework.jar make sure that you have the 3.2.1 r2 Firmware.
Please be carefully with this mod because there is no way to restore your devices if it bricks in the moment. I take no responsibility for damage that this mod may have on your tablet.
I've doubled the Volume steps of each category like this:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Installation
1. Put the modified framework.jar to a sdcard and put the sdcard into your tablet.
2. Open a file manager which have root access and copy the modified framework.jar to /system.
3. Set permission to rw-r--r-- or like this:
4. Move it to /system/framework. (Select yes for overwrite.)
5. Reboot. (Can take a while)
Have fun!
Has someone tested it and can confirm that it work's too?
I've got to do a factory reset on my tablet so fix my settings issue, so I'll look at this now.
An hour later and it's still not booted....
More bootloops. Until we have recovery safely installed, I suggest people don't do big changes that modify build.prop, framework.jar or any other important files (including fonts). You might be risking a brick that is unable to enter ADB mode or install recovery in the future.
I think this has buggered my device, I get this after installing this .jar;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493542
I think I know what I do, but your right
The risk that something bricks is really high an in the moment there is no way to restore something.
But I want you to show that it is possible and I donĀ“t have any bootloops at all.
I have also managed it to mount the the external SD card into the /sdcard folder so that pictures and music show up in the libary, but the external SD card isn't mounted on boot. When I fixed that I' am going to share this tweek too, but for that you have to change the build.prop, svold.fstap and the vold.fstab.

But on the linked post you say that the issue came when you have rooted your device. To apply this mod you need root access. When the FC was there before you applied this mod it cant fix that
Sorry, I meant that the tablet was rooted.
The issue occured after I restarted putting in your framework.jar
I've now got a usless device, I can't start it up, what do I do.
Oh, okey.
What is you firmwere version? The same as in the description?
On my device its work perfectly, look at the images, so I decided to share it.
If you use it or let your fingers away of it is your own decision.
I'am not happy that it doesn't work on your device and it bricked it.
But I can't take the responsibility for that. Sorry.
If there is a way to fix it I will tell you.
Your right - i'm on 3.2.2, please accept my apologies.
Been a while since I have done this.
Sprint HTC EVO 4G / apx325c
Kept shutting off.
Now will not start OS/ROM
Has TWRP v2.8.02. (Which from what I have been reading, isn't for this phone so IDK what to do there.)
Trying to trouble shoot, says No OS Installed.
Tried using restore, says complete, reboot, no os installed.
I want to put a stock rom back on this phone. I am downloading one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Evo/ROMs#Stock_ROMs
OTA Update #14 5.07.651.6 2.15.00.01.15 N/A Gingerbread 2.3.5 18 February 2013 Yes
Is the TWRP verion correct or did someone install one that was for another phone and it just happen to work?
Hi,
I moved this to the correct section.
Im sorry I don't understand the difference between the two sections as I don't know much about the phone.

Downloaded the rom. Used install to flash it. Didn't work :/
First, the phone you're trying to fix is the HTC EVO 4G LTE (aka Jewel). The ROM's you're trying to flash are for the HTC EVO 4G (aka Supersonic). You need to find a ROM based on the new partition layout and flash it to the phone. Afterwards, I suggest making a backup to prevent such issues from happening again. Just take a look at either Development or Original Development for a ROM based off the NPL.
Thanks.
I am working with cpt throwback in correcting this issue in the IRC.
Once I get the correct TWRP installed back I will flash a rom. Don't know which yet.
So I found the rom I need. It's a stock rooted one from cpt throwbacks thread.
I updated TWRP to his latest version.
Attempting to flash rom and it says successful but throws error for mounting cache.
Have v2.8.1.0 of TWRP
Finish flash and says reboot, no os installed.
Is that version of TWRP for the new partition layout?
Post a link to the ROM you were trying to install.
The thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2639180
4.13.651.4_jewel_stock_rooted_Sense5_Android4.3_odex.zip

DL ROM and his latest TWRP from there
Last night I sat the phone down while it was in TWRP and left it. Came back a while later and started messing with it again and could mount cache. IDK what is going on with this dang thing.
Attempted to flash but get an error zip signiture verification failed so I went to sleep leaving the phone on in TWRP.
This morning I re-downloaded the ROM. Verified the MD5 and placed on phone. Attempted flash, it worked but seen error for not able to mount system.
Restarted the phone and it booted to the ROM I flashed and everything seems to be functioning on the phone.
Currently attempting to fetch recovery.log. http://pastebin.com/AYLTHpjT
phone seems to be having a problem, keeps turning off. Not shutting down but just OFF.
When plugged in USB it has this issue the most so I assume that the USB connector on the MB is shorting.
I will be returning this phone to its owner as it is working as far as I can get it to.
Thanks to everyone for their help.
Hello,
First I want to thank this forum for providing the information. This forum was a help in the process finding out this fix!
NOTE: I'm not claiming that this methode will fix this problems for everyone but it worked for me so maybe you can give it a try.
Problem/My situation:
I've tried to root a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 with the CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4, but after the proces my device wasn't rooted so I placed a SuperSu zipfile on my internal storage and flashed twrp-3.0.0-0-klte with odin on the device. I booted in recovery and installed SuperSu. Now my phone was rooted properly said the Root Checker app. But... when booting I'm never asked for a SIM pincode and my IMEI disappeared. After some googling I found out I had to fix the files in the EFS map..
I only backed up through 'Backup and restore' with my samsung account.. so that was quite useless.
What you need:
-Phone must be bootable in recovery and download mode
-PC with Kies and internet connection
******************your data will be lost********************
What I did/Solution:
Boot in recovery, go to 'Wipe' > 'Advanced', I checked ALL boxes and did the wipe.
I turned my device of.
Now what you got to do is pull your battery out and take note of the 'S/N', mine has this format: xx0xx0x0xxx
Now start Kies on your pc and connect your phone. Under 'Tools' you will find: Firmware upgrade and initialization, go there. You will be asked for your model, enter: GT-I9300, after that you must enter the S/N you found on the sticker under your battery.
As you follow the proces you put the phone in download mode (volume down, home and power button) and if you follow the steps mentioned on screen you will eventually get to a screen with 'Software update and initialization completed', it will tell you that the device will reboot and that you have to connect the cable afterwards...
Now, wait till you see the android logo and wait till you get to the

.
In my case it got stuck here, so I pulled out the battery.. And I placed it back in and booted normally.. Everything was okay, it worked!
So that's all, I hope this will help you with this problem!
EDIT:
Now, If you want to root the device:
1. Connect the phone to your PC
2. Download twrp-2.8.6.1-i9300.tar (Make sure it is this version! https://dl.twrp.me/i9300/twrp-2.8.6.1-i9300.tar )
3. Download SuperSu zip (I used 2.65)
4. Place the SuperSU ZIP on the phone's storage
5. Open Odin and load the twrp tar in AP and flash..
6. After rebooting turn your device off and boot in to recovery
7. Go to 'Install' and navigate to the Supersu zip and install..
8. After rebooting you should have a rooted GT-I9300
Hey there,
Thank you for your post.
I unforunately am in the same position as you and the above method I've tried many times, but it doesn't seem to work.
I'm currently playing around with other ways and means, so hopefully i'll be able to figure something out cause I flat out refuse to arrange hardware to fix it or send it to a Samsung Service place. They messed it up using the software updates surely they can fix it too!
I'll let you know how I get on.
Cheers
Hello all,
I've been flashing rooms on the phone for quite a while now, but last weekend i flashed a new CM14.1 ROM onto the phone with the new GAPPS with it. Before doing this i ofcourse wiped the needed partitions in order for them to work right. However, since i've done this and flashed the new software, the phone doenst have access to the internal storage while being booted into the system (OS)..
When i boot into TWRP, i have full access to the internal storage and i'm able to create new folders and copy/cut/paste files onto it. Down here, you see i've created a new folder using the PC while its booted in TWRP.
{

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When i try to do this while its booted in CM14.1 (android 7.1.1, but i think any ROM i'd flash) this happens:
To translate this from Dutch to English: "The new folder couldn't be created on this location. The device isn't responding anymore or the connection has been lost".
When i browse to the internal storage through the OS itself, it does show up. However, i dont have any access to create new folders or files or to change them:
Also when i try to take a picutre using the camera, it says this:
Even when i enable developer options and giving root to both apps and adb, it still doesnt have the required access to perform these actions:
Also going to the gallery, it says that there is no storage available:
I also looked up some info about the partition, which might be useful for those who have some knowledge about this.. This is what i found using the app "Diskinfo":
And i also used the commands ls -l to show the permissions of the /data/media/(and)0/ to see what rights are giving out:
As you see here, the app itself didnt have access to go to the storage location untill i gave it "su" rights. Does this mean the entire OS doesnt have access to this location because it simply doesnt have the right permissions for it?
If anyone has any suggestions or wants to help me figure out what is wrong, please feel free to reply here or through a PM. It would be highly appreciated.
///Edit
After searching around on the web i came across a post where someone said that running the TWRP advanced option "Fix Context" would reset all permissions that you normally dont do yourself. So i've ran that, it ran for like 0.5 second before being finished. After rebooting the phone into the system (OS/Android) all problems were solved and permissions were set right.
Therefore my problem is resolved now, and this topic could be closed ^^
