Hi All,
I am hoping that someone could help me. I am trying to repair my X10 using SEUS but it keeps coming back with the message that there is no software for my device. I am using Z's Froyo ROM at the moment... do I need to reflash stock ROM first then retry?
Thanks in advance for your help.

You're absolutely right...sorry about that. Posting in Q&A was my intention... just wasn't paying attention.

Flash this ROM via Xrecovery then SEUS give u option for upgrade... an other thing is if u want to be on 2.1 this ROM is too good.

Thanks farazafs. The point of this exercise for me is to see if I can restore my battery performance. I have read on the XDA forums here that using the SEUS tool to repair the device and then load the ROM has helped some people with this issue.

Downgrade to .24 then try SEUS to repair to .435
This worked for me, now I am rooting, etc.. and am going to reload a ROM
as i posted it here
AN7 OverClocker said:
If you have problem with the update via SEUS because it says that you have the latest update and wont lets you reinstall the OS, you should try the following
1. Go Here and download the .504 version and flash it via flash tool.
2. Boot your phone and finish the settings wizard.
3.Shut it down
4. Run SEUS and update to .435
I hope that helps for any upcoming problems.

so i went along with the hype and updated my baseband and firmware to .54 , .435 ....but i want to go back to previous .24 firmware so i can go back to beta3. as i am not so much happy with beta4 (my quadrant is significally lower, and not many themes are ready for the new baseband and stuff) ... is it possible ? guide please ?
downgrade ?
i would have searched but i do not have time right now. after i post this i will not be back for a few hours and wanted to come back to an answer.

i figured i could just flash a lower firmware....? with flashtool but want feedback before i try.
repair your phone with PC Companion, you'll get a clean FW.

You can flash it back to an older baseband I don't see why not. Tuesday morning I was going back & forth between stock at&t 1.6, 2.0.2.A.0.24, 2.0.A.0.504 & 2.1.A.0.435 to test things out (had nothing else to do and was bored ). Then I saw beta4 so I stayed on .435 and flashed beta4. I may flash it back in a day or two if the battery condition doesn't improve. It is worse than beta3 and it gets too warm.
Edit: Almost forgot, here's the link I used. It has the older roms.

If you grabbed any of the .24 build from the link and if you did it correctly, you should actually be in 2.1 (.49, build .24). After that, using the flash tool, root it again, install xrecovery then restore your beta 3 or do a fresh install. I just did that on my phone so not sure how you can still be in beta4 after flashing to the .24 build.
no...im saying i was still on .435 ....i did everything right. its simple to flash. it just didnt work.

You can't run a gingerbread rom with the stock kernel! Thats why you stick on the stock kernel logo (sony ericcson). Read the first post of the rom you flashed carefully. Isn't there something like you need costum kernel, unlock bootloader first...
What Rom did you Flash?
I hope you did a Backup in recovery ?
Did you follow the install instructions? Full wipe... Tell us a bit more, so we ca help you

SEUS is the Sony Ericsson Update Service. As the name says, it updates your phone and repairs if necessary.
If you are trying to flash a new ROM, you have to unlock bootloader first, install custom kernel and then flash the new ROM. Look for the tutorials, they should help.

You need to unlock the Bootloader. Then you can flash a Costum Kernel. Use The flashtool, it's a Genius "one big Button Tool" from Bin4ry and Androxyde Thank and Donate to them. Read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10881307. Its a "How to Guide". The Flashtool you can get here: http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool I hope this helps. Happy modding

Before flashing a custom kernel, be sure you meet the requirements to do so. I mean, sometimes you need a specific baseband version in order for the kernel to work properly

hm.. but update service will give him .62 not .42, right? or are you thinking on making prerooted image? hm now i got idea
@ prazadx: are you willing to do clean flash with pc companion or sony update service, then we'll instruct you how to make .62 .ftf, but it will be around 150MB after you zip it, wich you would need to upload..
then if your phone is sim-lock free your fastboot should be open, and it should accept prerooted .img.
even if your bootloader is locked i think it only matter for kernels.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong
its here mate
Just flash this with flashtool (extract using winzip or eqivalent first to get the ftf), root using flashtool, update OTR, install cmw and you are fine.

I'm gonna perform this flashing with flashtool. all i need is to downgrade my current firmware to .42, so that i can root my device. also this is a sim lock free device with a locked bootloader.
is there any other way to root without downgrading??
also, thanks mate..
There are another way to root but you need to unlock your bootloader, sorry I cant put links, but if you search right here in this Forum "unlock bootloader" you would see the options to do that.
Definitly this way is the only you have without unlockink bl. Thats all the peoplo say because I cant flash .42 on mine....flashtool stop always before 100% I will format pc...i dont know what other thing can be.
