I was trying to flash this: http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/odin-darkyrom-10-2-resurrection-gt-i9000.4272/
I was following the instructions word for word & after step 9 it went down hill.
In odia I did pull the battery out while it read "partitioning" as I was waiting 10mins & it appeared to not move, it didn't even seem to start.
After I pulled the battery & tired to power it back on it wouldn't work...
I tried to get into download mode, recovery & even tried a USB JIG as it was likely to force it into download mode & yet nothing, not even a vibrate.
The phone in my eyes is the best out there so I would really appreciate all the help anyone can give me.
Use odin to install the rom again.

Firstly try getting into Download mode, I hope it works, secondly, read properly before flashing anything to your device, the link you posted is for the I9000, the Samsung Galaxy S 2 is the I9100

I know, I can't access download mode at all
Never click repartition or mess with pit files!
I Bricked my phone because I clicked repartition. I had to play dumb took it back for service and they repaired it.
I have had my phone back and flashed it many many times but never clicked repartition again and had no major problems since.
The boot section sits on the partition so when you click repartition it bricks the phone. Clicking EFS will clear your IMEI number so leave odin as default.
I guess the repartition must have its uses for some phones but all I have read on the s2 everyone who has clicked repartition has bricked there phone.
Like many people I was given the wrong instructions on another site.
I will have a look around and report back if I find any fixes for this.

I did research but if you answered about an hour ago I would of considered you god, however you are great.
My device is still under warranty so I will go see what I can do on Tuesday!
If you would like full instructions on how to flash your phone I would be happy to help once its fixed.
Good luck with it. I have found all the best links from this site.
I also know one company that can unbrick the s2

So I tried to use odin to root my device. I was following a guide on youtube but XDA won't let me post it. I got to where I run odin while my phone is in download mode. Everything goes according to the video, however, when the phone reboots it freezes at the Samsung splash screen with the yellow ! at the bottom. I've tried putting the phone back in download mode and running it through Odin again but the problem is not fixed. Does anyone know how I would go about fixing this?
Try restocking. If you repartitioned you may be in trouble. Go to cm7 website and follow their instructions.

I made sure the repartition option wasn't selected before I ran odin in both cases. I'm assuming by CM7 you mean cyanogenmod? Sorry for the ignorance, I just want to make sure I'm doing what I need to to get it back in working condition
Dont know why should you go to cm7 website.

use an appropriate kernel for your phone.
Or get a stock kernel and use odin to flash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278

I've got no idea what boxhead72 is going on about, but anyway, to be able to help you, we need to know what you've done. Generally, you need to make sure you're flashing a correct ROM/kernel/modem for your device. You also might need to reset to factory settings. But without knowing what you've done, it's impossible to say.
You can find stock ROMs and a guide for I9100 (if that is your phone's model) in Intratech's thread here: [ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG, KH1/2/3/4, KI1/2/3/4/8, KJ1/2 Download.
On the plus side, if you can get to the boot screen, you are far better off than those who get NOTHING. I know it doesn't make you feel that good right now, but if you can get this far, your chances of recovery (if you follow instructions) are near 100%.
If you told us that you get no response at all from the phone when the power button was pressed, you might have room to worry a bit.
Now, not so much. Just take a minute to breathe and read through your steps as outlined in the above mentioned threads. You'll be fine in all likelihood.
Okay, I did some more searching and realized I was on the completely wrong forum... I have the AT&T U.S. I777 Galaxy S2. So exactly what I did was install kies, close out of it, put my phone into download mode, connect it to my computer, install what I assume was an incorrect .tar file using Odin while it was in download mode, let it reboot and am now seeing it hang at the boots screen with the yellow exclamation mark. I wouldn't mind reformatting it if someone could show me how, but I mainly want to use this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285894
to root it and install CM7. Could I just run odin again and install the .tar file given in these instructions? Or does it not quite work like that? Thanks for all the help you guys are giving by the way!

I don't know anything about that phone, but a quick look in those forums shows:
[Heimdall][Odin][Stock][Root]UCKH7 Return/Unbrick to Stock (or Root)
and
[ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the Samsung Galaxy S II (AT&T) :: V7.1.0 RC1 (9 Oct 2011)
Thanks for those, I was actually reading through them when I noticed you posted them. I have another problem now though, I ran the stock rom through odin in this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286432
but it failed in Odin and upon reboot it says firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again. I didn't know kies had a recovery mode, but when I connect my phone it always fails to connect. Note that I CAN still get into the download menu, but that's it. At this point is there anything else I can do?

I presume Kies recovery mode is in Kies -> Tools -> Emergency firmware recovery.
I noticed that as well but like I said I cannot connect to Kies so any recovery mode isn't very helpful

I guess if you've done everything on [Guide] How to Prepare Your Phone to Return to the Store or for Warranty Replacement (which is linked at the bottom of the thread I linked earlier), then your next port of call should be Recovering an ATT Galaxy S2 after flashing GT-I9100 Firmware.
I recently rooted my phone to the latest Siyah version. I noticed the capacitive buttons not working correctly and then I noticed the version I had was for I900. I went into cwm and installed the correct kernel for my phone but it did not fix the problem. I realized after that I didnt clear the cache. So I went into clockwork recovery and tried to fix that but I hit something to cause my phone to go to a black screen and had litle flashes every once in a while. I took out the battery and the galaxy screen with the triangle pops up but then goes to black. If I hit the power button it will show the battery charging button briefly but then goes away.
After all that. My question is can my phone be saved?
Thanks,
Mike

Yes, almost certainly.
First, please confirm the model of your phone. Do you have SGH-I777?
You will need to boot into download mode, and install the stock Gingerbread firmware UCKH7 that the phone originally came with. From that point, you can update or modify the phone as you prefer.
From what you say, it sounds like you need to do a fair amount of reading of the sticky post items such as the faq and guides and elswhere in this forum to get a good foundation of information about the phone and how it works. Understanding makes it much safer to work with your phone.

Yes. I have the I777. When I originally installed the kernel I downloaded it from the I777 section and it was supposed to be a 1 click thing till I realized those little issues of the I900.
I finally got into odin mode and it says its downloading. I can also now see it on my computer. Not sure what its downloading but its better than the black screen i was getting. Been on the downloading screen for 5 minutes or so. Just gonna leave it downloading till it does something or someone tells me something better to do
Thanks for your help!
***Update I downloaded the UCKH7 on to the phone and Odin(on the computer said successful) The phone is still stuck on Downloading... Do not turn off target. I didnt have the auto reboot selected on Odin. Should I try diusconnecting the phone and rebooting with the power button or just wait until it does it? been hung on it for 10 minutes even though the computer said it was done.

Go to the guide how to install custom binaries... which is linked in my signature. Read it untill you understand the basics. It will explain how to use Odin and download mode. Once you understand, flash the UCKH7 stock plus root package that is linked in the guide. This is assuming that you want root and to customize your phone.

if u follow the guide then u prolly have a rooted stock(assuming u used the rooted stock package) which Kies is not friendly with maybe due to having a non-stock kernel, also 2.3.4 is GINGERBEAD. Now if u plan to flash ICS ROM's i suggest forget bout Kies & go back to the guide & learn how to flash a kernel w/ CWM.
I'm trying to return to stock on my Verizon Note 2. I'm currently on AOKP 4.2.2 and have TWRP. I tried to use the Odin method shown by Adam but my phone is not being seen via USB. I've tried to uninstall all drivers and reinstall. Tried again by using Kies as suggested by many.
Can I return to stock just by using TWRP? Are there steps or a walk through on how to do this? Links? I'm thinking I could go into TWRP, wipe the cache, delvik cache, and then factory reset. Then install, "flash" a update.zip and return to stock. Would this work or get stuck?
Also, not sure where to get the update.zip I'd need. I have the OTA stock downloaded from Adam tutorial...not the "alternate" but it's only one file. Would I just zip that, rename to update.zip and try to flash?
Please help!! Again I'm unable to do this through usb plug in so I really need another route.
Thank you in advance for any help!
Do not try renaming the file and flashing. Nothing good will come of that.

I read through that one too. Tried all of that. ODIN will not work. My phone is not being detected through USB. Again i've tried all the reinstalls of the drivers etc.... Tried different original cords. nothing.
I need a way to return to stock through my device. Maybe load to the external sd and flash. Can this be done?
Not sure what file to flash though.
If odin isn't seeing your phone then something isnt installed properly. Probably drivers. Im not too sure about it because the only time I used odin was when I first rooted and I haven't touched it since.
The only option I have heard of for doing it from the phone is mobile odin. I dont know much about it, never tried it. Here's the link for it

Are u sure usb debugging is on?, or try going back to a tw rom before using odin, i also read that kies has to be removed from comuter, and phone before trying this, i had problem originally, manually installed drivers, and went to device manager and checked operation, you also have to be in odin mode on phone( power, home, down at same time, as that way it is in download mode.

Tried all of this as well. I installed kies and tried that route as some were saying the drivers may work through that method. They didn't so I tried uninstalling. I was in DL "odin" mode when trying to run odin also.

My phone was a trade off for a iPhone 5.. Best move ever but the last owner had somewhat messed up the phone modding it. I did a full wipe and the previous owner had never done any backups. I wanted to start fresh. All that being said I wanted to start back fresh at stock and then do any modding that I preferred from a new state.
I just flashed MeanBean after reading back through the posts to my question. I realized I had not tried using odin while on a TW based ROM.
I'll see if this helps.

I too am having issues with my Note II not being recognized by Odin on my PC. I know my drivers are installed and I have a good connection with my USB cable/port since when I plug in my phone when powered on, I can see the phone and card just fine. However, when going into Download mode and running Odin 3.07, Odin isn't seeing my phone.
I discovered this while looking into another situation from another thread. While I'm not currently attempting to return to stock and aren't overly concerned about returning to stock since I could probably do it with Mobile Odin if push comes to shove. I am concerned, however, that if I'm unable to use MO and my phone isn't being recognized by Odin from my PC then I might be up the proverbial creek with a paddle.

Glad it worked. And as an added bonus now I know if I do ever have problems and dont feel like spending the time to figure it out, I can just use mobile odin.
I've searched the forums and haven't found a solution to my problem. I have rooted S4 MK2 and wanted to put Gummy ROM on it, only finding out after I had installed TWRP that this wouldn't be possible. No big deal, but now, I can't get away from the stupid downloading screen for TWRP. No longer do I get the screen before it warning about tinkering with your operating system, and once it's stuck on the screen, getting the phone to boot properly sometimes takes a while, and a lot of foul language. I've tried several things to bypass/delete/overwrite TWRP, to no avail. ODIN doesn't work for me, tried several versions, ROM Manager and CWM doesn't work, when I try to boot into CWM mode it goes to downloading screen of TWRP. I finally gave up, decided to nuke it from space and do a factory reset... which took me straight to the damnedable downloading screen! This tells me I will probably be unable to update or use any ASOP ROMs that I might run into, because once on the downloading screen, nothing works, the phone isn't recognized by my computer, two different versions of ODIN failed to get its attention, unable to to load .pit or .tar files... I'm at wits end folks, and haven't found a solution in any other threads on xda, or the net in general, any help and suggestions would be much appreciated. I've not used ADB before, but if need be, I'll learn if there's a fix going that route.

Does Odin "see" your phone? If so, what build are you trying to install?
I know the damage is done, but a little reading before hand would have let you know that with MK2 you can't install a custom recovery. Only Safestrap works with compatible Touchwiz 4.3 Roms
Edit: Maybe this thread will help. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578209
Edit #2: My apologies. Just re-read your post and I see you said, more than once, that Odin isn't seeing your phone. I'm afraid I won't be any help. Good luck.
Odin sees the phone, but fails at all attempts to install anything. .pit, .tar etc. I originally wanted to install Gummy but now I know that won't ever work, then I just tried to install stock .tar file and it also fails.

My most recent attempt was SCH-I545.pit, didn't work... I also tried Philz_Touch, gummy, and one other ROM which, of course didn't work, now I know why the roms didn't, but no sure why the .pit file won't work. All I really want to do now is remove all traces of TWRP. My phone isn't bricked, totally usable, it just won't be able to be updated or customized until I get rid of TWRP

I'm reading over it now, considering doing the full wipe. Now that I know custom ROMS are going to be limited to ASOP I don't mind going stock and unrooted. I really appreciate your help

If you get it straightened out I would recommend reading this thread after. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2606501
Let me know how you make out. Good luck.
From reading this I think you're confusing TWRP with Odin. TWRP doesnt have a downloading screen, but Odin does and thats exactly the screen you want to be on to flash a stock Odin tar. You will need to flash a full stock tar. And if you respond saying it didnt work please include the Odin error log.

You making sure you have the proper USB drivers as well as a good USB cable?
Also like surge said its kind of confusing I think you're confusing Odin with twrp as well at times.
So now your trying to load which file from within Odin???

Got everything working, I'm all stock and all systems are go. Thank you very much for your kind help. I'm going to now patiently wait for the official 4.4 update to arrive and otherwise leave my phone stock.
