I did a search and found several posts about mouse functionality...basically jumping from screen clickable element to element...but no cursor.
Has anyone got an actual cursor to show up on the screen?
Is it even possible?
ubuntu?
I'm running vegaN 5.1 and I get cross-hairs when I use my mouse (imho, its better than a regular pointer). Seems to work fine for me...

I also get a cross hair on VeganTab with my USB mouse. If I remember right, I don't think I got one with my bluetooth mouse.
I get a crosshair too running VEGAn 5.1.1

Off topic question: How are there 4 rows in Pulse in that video? My pulse has 3, with it set to small tile/text size
I get crosshairs, but clicking doesn't do anything, and the mouse is 90 degrees off ( left goes up, up goes right, etc.) Anyone got a fix??

The older version of Pulse (I think one version back - do a search in the applications/themes section) allowed for more rows per screen. The current version only allows the 3 you mention. I'm sure you can dig up an apk of the older version if you prefer it.

Is there a keyboard I can download/install for CM7 which has the number keys as the top row? It is SO limiting compared to WebOS.
I'd prefer not to pay for it if possible until I know I am going to stick with CM7 (or ICS).
Thanks for any info

Have you tried Thumb Keyboard? It is full of options.
OK - Another question - keyboard related.
Why, whern a data entry screen comes up do I have to tap in it before the keyboard comes up? Is there something I can configure so that it's automatic (like webos)?
Cheers
Alan
I can recommend SwiftKey x free version. It has numbers either along the top or a separate number keyboard on the left.

SwiftKey X Tablet Version is gorgeous. I just realized switching to landscape mode splits the keyboard in half and leaves a number pad in the middle. Such an intuitive and easy keyboard to type on
I tried swiftkey - a bit hard. I was then recommended to try the hackers keyboard and it's just what I want.

On a phone, yes... On a tablet many find you have to travel a greater and many find it not ideal. Beside I find holding on to my tablet with two hands and type with my thumbs to be more secure.
The dev of the app quill resized it correctly for flyer. Pressure sensitivity works great and so does palm rejection. Just thought I'd give the heads up

The pen detection for HTC devices is included in version 6.2 and higher. You can get it on the Android Market or download the apk for free from Google Code

I currently have both the Flyer and Jetstream. Pen input works on both with pressure sensitivity.
I can't seem to get zooming to work at all.
I have a number of suggestions as well. I had actually been thinking about forking your code to make adjustments

Press the 4-diagonal-arrows icon. Then you can pinch-to-zoom, at least it *should* work ;-)
I do check up on XDA threads; or PM me if you want...

Hi! This method works well. But when I double tap, it zooms just a tiny bit. About 5% is my guess.

Double tap switches between fill screen width and fit everything on screen. If your virtual paper is almost the same as the screen, then the change can be very small. Try e.g. A4 paper and rotate the tablet into landscape, then you'll see a huge change.

Got it. This app is perfect. Just one suggestion- Please enable pinch to zoom in quill/pencil modes so that we can zoom in to write with 2 fingers and drag with one finger. This allows writing to be more neat. at the moment I have to switch between quill and drag mode to and fro.
:: I have also noticed, while the htc note app recognises only 2 pressure levels, quill registers at least 4 different pressure levels.
I applaud the developer for getting the pen response implemented very well. I guess I was expecting more features with all the excitement, but it does what it says well. Not a replacement for the HTC notes app, but a nice little handwritten sticky note app.

Your palm will often trigger single-finger touch events, so we can't use those in the fountain pen / pencil mode.
Its intentional that the 2-finger move gesture while writing doesn't change the zoom - otherwise it is hard to fill a whole page with evenly sized handwriting.

Great app, would he nice to have the eraser button work on the pen but other than that this is awsome
Just wanted to say that quill is a great app.
Is this working with the View. The market says not compatible and when I try to install the apk I get a Parse Error.
i think it works on HC version, isn't?

I got the same error with the stock gingerbread, you need HC. I still prefer the stock Notes app. Syncing to evernote is brilliant.
Pen input mode?
There are 3 pen input options in v8.1, I tried all 3 but could only get my scribe stylus writing to appear when the "any touch event writes on screen, no gestures" mode is active. This is not so handy because I lose out on the gestures. Anyone get their scribe to work in the other modes? Seems like it should recognize the scribe in all modes!
I'm on wifi-only Flyer with latest HC release.

Maybe a difference with the software or hardware...are you on View or Wifi Flyer? HTC pushed Honeycomb update or did you install a custom/Globatron ROM?

I am currently using a Nook Zergy hack to my Nook Tablet. Stable for four months now.
Is there a mod out there where I can have the same sort of magnifier pop up when typing and wanting to move the cursor in a fine adjustment fashion similar to the ipod input method?

goto the market ( play store ) and check out the dozen or more that are there. most of then are free !
Please, suggest two or three. I must be using the wrong search terms. I only find garbage related to using the camera as a magnified.
I think what I would more have in mind would be across all apps. Even in the browser, and work exactly like the ipod cursor magnifier
I was playing around with my Note and noticed this really weird thing.
Go to http ://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WSPTVk!egb!acZbcc (a calculator for Diablo 3) (sorry can't post links). On your computer, you can see that whenever you hover over the icons another screen pops up with a more detailed explanation. Also if you click it it pops up a different screen with more information.
How to replicate this on your Note: You can of course get to the menu by clicking on the icons. But for the hover over: This sounds silly, but put the S Pen about 1 cm off the screen over the icons. It should display the hover over menu. So far, I've seen this work on the stock browser and the Reddit News app (which I think uses the stock browser).
It's not weird, they made it like that. The s-pen acts like a mouse. You can mouse over things by hovering it around, you can left click by touching it down onto the screen, and you can right click by holding it pressed down onto the screen.
If you go to Settings>Pen Settings and enable Hovering Pen Icon (if I recall correctly this wasn't on the original stock ROM, only the leaked updates), then you will actually be able to see the mouse cursor as well, so you can see exactly what you're mousing over.
That's kinda cool actually, i never noticed that about the stock browser. Although i think this may be the first tile I've opened the stock browser since the days of the htc dream and Cupcake or Donut or whatever the thing was running.
Kind of wish Opera had this...

Yep. It is a great extra function. Turn on the mouse cursor too and you got a little PC.

SwiftKey Flow keyboard now available in beta for phone and tablet!

dosent seem to be working for me. Its installed and set as default keyboard but swipe does not work
It's swipe in portrait and split typing in landscape. Makes sense for a tablet.

It's swipe while you aren't typing on a url, gmail and etc...
They need to copy thumb keyboard on the spacing and put TAB on main screen....

Not sure what you are trying to say here. The tablet version does not swipe in landscape. I have tried messaging, gmail, forums, notepads, etc. It does swipe in portrait. So, if I am landscape typing an email, then I use my thumbs to type on the split keyboard. Then, in the same process I turn it to portrait and then start swiping. This only makes sense, since swiping in landscape on a tablet seems a huge waste of energy.

You're right, I'm just typing from it and it's lovely. I'm completely sure I'll be buying it. What I was trying to say was that while entering an url, the swipe is disabled, and while typing passwords and such too, so I thought it was disabled all the time. The default android keyboard has swipe on landscape, so i thought this one would too. Thanks for the advice! This keyboard make typing so much easier.
Tried the tablet version and doesn't do auto predict for me.
Not sure what could cause that to happen. Did you configure it after install? Do any words show up?

Do you use boat browser by any chance?
Predictions dont work when using this app for me and apparently its because boat browser specifically tells the keyboard not to predict.
Neither swipe or predictions work on my nexus 10 with chrome and ocean browsers...... Why?
I use ocean and boat but works in nothing
Swipe only works in portrait. If it's not working at all then your best bet is to join the SwiftKey vip forums and report problems to them. After all, it is a beta, and as such they need to know these things.

Deleted this post. Issue was not caused by this app.
I've actually went back to the stock keyboard now.
The predictions are great when you can actually use them but the problem is they deactivate in most apps I use like boat browser. They say that's because boat browser instructs swift key to disable predictions, so why does the default keyboard still work then?
That and the complete absence of arrow keys like the phone version.
Patience expired with this app.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for secondary users either; you can install it, but it doesn't appear under Language and input.
