Anyone know about how long will it take to develop a kernel that will be stable/usable (better than the current roms). And the Kernel is going to replace the rom (EX/ FreeX10) right? Is that how it works?
Its probably gonna take some time....they will slowly start with new things and release roms and fix the bugs that happen then introduce more new features fix the bugs etc etc....you see where its goin. Be patient...i know its hard because im constantly watching to.

Will it Blend? That is the Question.
Whats the odds that you will brick the phone when installing a custom kernel?

0. Since the bootloader isnt cracked, just bypassed, you'll always be able to simply SEUS flash original firmware back and be back to square1.

Which in sense is actually better than having a cracked bootloader. Get all the same ****, and if anything goes wrong you have seus or flashtool to save your ass.

Yeah that is true. I guess itll almost be like flashing our current custom roms then?

Did you ever think that maybe he is not on stock anymore.
@ OP
We don't know yet.
Hopefully soon we will.
Thhanks guys, im on rogers stock 2.1 I was thinkin to root after flashing it might be pointless if im going 2.3. Better keep it stock while I wait.
What did you mean by *unmodified*? Rooting? Or something else?
Sorry for double post, I just downloaded the x10a .435 generic from the flashtool thread, is that the stock unmodified one?
Sorry first android phone lol :$

No, dont use FlashTool. Yous current firmware is just fine. And yes, unmodified=no root, custom rom, etc.

Wow, you want to debate just about that? And DID I say I KNOW he is using an unmodified stock fw?
Btw OP, if you still want to modify your phone, go ahead. But make sure you flash your phone with ROGERS stock fw using FlashTool when the upgrade is rolled out. Still, I am not sure if they block modified X10, but an insider said so and I trust him.

Wait:-o. I can get the update with a rogers branded phone?, I though it was only generic ones
We are still not sure about that. It depends on rogers if they want.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
So if I flash the generic one ill be able to upgrade
Plz help want to downgrade.plz help me by link of baseband rom and flash tool version......and mention any problem regarding downgrading........plz plz
2.1 TO 1.6.............?////
Why u want to do it......?
bcoz my phn reboot in almost all baseband and firmware....
Original operators 1.6 firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872298
Also, you do know that the baseband is part of the firmware? No need to flash a different baseband. They are designed regionally, so stay with the baseband that comes with the firmware.
use seus or pccompanion to get the officiallatest software.
Its 2.1 and 100% stable because its official...
If your phone doesnt work on that then send it back to SE becuase its their rom...

Some people think 1.6 is less taxing on the phone than 2.1. Maybe my battery lasted longer on the stock 1.6 than stock 2.1.
But I know the ROM I use on 2.1 is much better on my battery than 1.6 stock.
SEUS is the way to go anytime anyone's phone is acting crazy.

Hello!
I wonder if there will be a way to root the stock SE 2.3.3 fw withtout flashing the pre-rooted version in the next days or if its something hard to do.
Also, does the update of baseband, fw, kernel, etc... means something to the devs of custom ROMs like fixing camera bugs
Thx
A root method will come with some time.

Everytime i flash wolfs rom i can never get paast the bootscreen it passes the sony ericsson screen then the bootscreen keeps up loading nonstop i am 100% sure to have downloaded the correct version "freekernel" one and it happens for some other roms aswell any clue ?
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Yes, It has been notified by a lot of ppl here about the boot lag. If you have earlier versions of wolfbreak then flash it, eg version 6. And wait till WB comes up with a fully working ROM.
