when i put strong magnet near device - sensor data on compass change
Either the magnet is interfering with the devices hardware or it actually has a compass, just it needs appropriate software to work

There are cases that advertise a magnetic sensor that turns the screen off and on. I'm glad to see that there is some hardware to back this up and that it is not just a gimmick. Can anyone confirm that the magnetic cases do work with the sensor?

OK know my X10 got ran over a few months ago and I brought a new case, lcd screen and digitizer for it and replaced the parts myself and the phone works fine apart from no wifi and bluetooth.
If anybody has any pictures pointing out where the wifi+bluetooth aerial or hardware is located I can take it back apart and look for damage to this part.
Before you ask, it was on 1.6 when repaired last week, wifi would come on but failed to connect to any router. After I flashed a generic X10i rom to the phone the wifi would not come on and I have tried a few wifi scanning apps from the market and they all say no connection. I only noticed the bluetooth not working yesterday when I tried to run blueputdroid.
So any images that you guys have would be great
Here is a picture of the phone in bits, on the main board at the bottom right is where the main aerial connects to the aerial in the back case, this cant be the fault as the phone has a great signal so if this was damaged surely the phone would have no signal what so ever???

COMPASS CALIBRATION
1) Go to the test menu page by call * # 0 * #
2) Press Sensors (Never press Sleepmode!)
3) At the bottom of the page is compass and number must be 3 as is at the screenshot... That means you have calibrated compass by 3 axis....
4) If you have number 0,1 or 2 just move your phone in the air untill you get 3...
5) Thats it..!
Screen is from Galaxy S, thats why is there also Light sensor...
SGA dont have it....

Probably the axis calibrated. X*Y*Z = 3 axis.
*#0*# is not working in CM 10.1
i just found out about the IR beside the camera on my SIII.. and with a little search i got someone who's saying it's for removing red-eye effect..
but i guess i figured out what's about.. it's used for turning screen off when you're making calls.. just like in the figure in here:

what i want to know is.. does it have to be ON all the time? or is it because of my JB rom -_-
and second.. can we use the IR to send signals to other devices? and recive as well?
-i've tried to aim a remote control toward the IR reciver during a call but the screen didn't go off, i guess it's expecting a specific signal or frequesncy..
That is the proximity sensor and no we can't use it as an IR port.
The JB firmware you are using (XXDLI1 I presume) has a bug where the proximity sensor stays on all of the time.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
like nodstuff wrote.
And, even if it were possible to use this IR as we wish, there is no guarantee that it uses the 38 kHz frequency range, that is the range used by most consumer IR devices and remotes. A few Sony remotes use 37 Khz.

It looks great but.
Ive broken the touch...every 1cm line the touch works, everything else is dead... The speaker is dead. A really good investment
1 problem...when I start the camera the phone crashes...
This is my logcat...I need to know if the camera is broken or its the rom
The phone reboots every 5mins...
I dont know if the rom is the problem or phone... :S
I cant install another rom because the setups need touch input except the one installed...reinstalled the one but still the same.
Nobody interested
It was the roms fault lol and the connection to the top unit (speaker sensor notification led) was not good...
The phone is now fully silver/white...ill make pics if interested
yes show some pics...
I'd like to see some pics too.
gone...far far away, bouth an m7 :/
Dear Community!
I have a problem with my Note 3 clone.
My LCD screen was broken, but i found a spare one on Ali*******.com and repaired it, everythings went well except when i assembled the phone i was broke the loudspeaker's connecting pin (ringer, buzzer or call something similar).
I tried to solder it, it was successfull, but it wont work.
Can anyone knows a shop or something where can i buy a spare speaker for it ?
Sadly, on the speaker there isn't any number or code so i can't identify the part number.
Phone specs are (including the screenshot):
SM-N9006
MT6582
512MB RAM
4GB? ROM
5,7" screen with 1280x720 pix
Single sim card
With pen
Touchscreen part number on the flex cable: DC-71-3

Nevermind, i figured out that the HTC Desire 500's Speaker is completely the same as i mentioned above, so i ordered one, and repaired the phone with it. Everythings worked well just needed the MTK Engineering Mode app to set higher values for the loudspeaker.
