To get the last OTA for 1.5 I had the webtop mod stopping the updates, so I just removed it and got it right away. People are saying they got the update with gladroot, but I am not getting it. I'm wondering if the script on the stock version {the before} modded files to block the future OTA updates. I know people are still saying there is no official update, but both AT&T and MOTO have support pages up to get the update. I have tried both and neither works by the way. I also tried to get the new sbf, but the link is not working. Anyone else not getting the OTA???
I never got the OTA. and I tried on both 100% stock 1.26 and 1.57 or whatever the version numbers are. I just installed from full SBF. got root + sideloading.
well all the new sbf links are timed out for me. I even found some off a Japanese sight that is doing the same.
Can someone who has downloaded the new sbf pm me please?
Okay, I'm currently flashing the original 1.2.6 SBF to my atrix, to clear it out. Then to my knowledge, to root the 1.8.3 update or whatever it is called I need to plainly update it to the latest update then use Gingerbreak? I tried Gingerbreak, on a flashed SBF of 1.8.3 and that didn't work. It stayed on the window where it said it was currently executing the thing. Am I right? Is there any other way to root the latest update?
btw I used the exe shortcut to get gingerbreak.
Use GladRoot. It works with the new update promise.
updated and rooted with GingerBreak
I updated to 4.1.83 and rooted without problem with GingerBreak. As it was warned, the process deleted the files from the SD internal card. So it's good to make a backup before.
So i have flashed back to both 1.26 and 1.57 then went OTA to 1.83 and i have also flashed 1.83 and then rooted installed gingerblur and i still have the update notification. i have looked at the build.prop and it tells me i am on 2.2.2 and at 4_1.8.3. Has anyone found out how to fix this without freezing the updater?

This has been discussed several times in several forums. Just freeze "Updater 2.2.2" in Titanium Backup and the message won't show again.

Freezing will prevent future updates, as the updater will keep telling you to update to 4.1.83 after you thaw it before it will allow you to OTA to next update. While this may not be an issue if a sbf file comes out for the next OTA, it will be an issue if there is not one available for a while after the OTA goes beta and live.
I flash back to 4.1.26, then OTA to 4.1.57 and 4.1.83 before rooting and installing the "ROM" of choice and have not seen this issue. Most posts I have seen relating to this are after people have flashed the 4.1.83 sbf.
Hi, I recently rooted my Atrix and installed the latest version of Swype.
When the new GB OTA update came, I couldn't update (I think because of deleting the old Swype files), which lead to me do a factory reset.
Whenever I try to update, I get a <!> error.
Currently, I'm on Android version 2.2.2 and System version 4.1.83.
I don't have the beta, or the factory installed Swype after factory reset.
Would anybody like to help me? Thank you!
factory reset will not restore factory installed swype since it's been deleted. Give the swype files I just put up (from the GB OTA) and let us know if it works .

Where do I put these files?
1) uninstall the beta and swype installer. restart the phone
2) grab GBswype.zip, unzip it and put the files in the following directories:
/system/app/Swype.apk
/system/lib/libSwypeCore.so
3) restart the phone and try the update
Won't get update with root either.
Flash back and get a clean 4.1.83 install if you want to OTA to 4.5.91.

What about the new SBF for 4.5.91 from daywalker04... I'm assuming that's an official SBF, if I don't care about an unlocked bootloader, is this another option?
If it's official, should be ok if that's what you want.

Hi guys... hope that this post reads also someone from development. If it should be placed there, please move it.
So, here is my problem:
I`m having rooted Razr and OTA update comes to my region. I downloaded update and tried to update, but it failed. I didn't uninstall any of bloatware, just frozen it, but even after unfreezing it won't do update as well. I red some manuals and so on, so i removed bootstrap recovery also but still the same. Looks, that I need to re-install original FW to make it working - right?
I checked possibilities and there are not too many. RAZR utility 1.6 it is not possible download anywhere - links are mostly broken and 1.7 is for ICS only, so only options is using of RSDLite. I found following "tutorial" about RSDLite. I'm almost sure, that after update there wouldn't be possibility to update for a while, so I kept original downloaded OTA update ZIP, but do not know what to do with.
Could somebody say, if it is correct way how to update to ICS? Do I really needs to reflash original ROM and than try to update it to ICS via OTA? Is there some easy way to update if I have downloaded OTA update ZIP?
Some ideas?
