Changing roms

Hi there. I have a LG Optimus One, with LOL 1.2.
I want to use the latest cyanogenmod but dont know how to do it, so whats the easyiest way to change the rom?
Thanks a lot.
Make a NAND Backup and perform all your wipes like when you flashed your first ROM. Flash ROM and Gapps afterward. Everything is the same like how you flashed your first rom, nothing is different.
The thing is i forgot those steps

What I have to do with my Optimus One?

Hi guys,
First, sorry for my English... I'm Brazilian... =x
Well... i have bought a LG P500 and i really don't know what i will do with it, because i don't understand this whole thing about custom roms, kernel, custom recovery, ...
But i'm reading some articles and i'm in a doubt... what i do?
I install a Custom ROM (like void forever 2.3.4)?
or
I install the 2.3 GB (Officil FW)?
Thanks!

doktornotor, thanks for your answer...
but i already read this topics... and my question is:
what is the best? this Custom ROM or the official GB?
I'm talking about speed of the system, a fix to the touch bug and more...
Thanks!

void. #forevah.
LOL. "What is the best" asks for a nice flamewar. Would suggest to use the phone with stock FW for a while, perhaps just root it and continue reading.
Why?
The one advantage that I (a noob) can see, is the language (the void rom is available in PT-BR, but the official FW is available only in PT-PT... =s).
The official FW can allow me to fix the touch bug?
And what is the other advantages? It is really faster? The perfomance is better?
Thanks!

The stock FW? Froyo or Gingerbread? And why? I'm thinking my p500 a little slow... and the touch bug? =\

Since you're new in this I'd suggest you to take it easy atm. especially while we have ported gb, official gb, different basebands etc etc you'll get confused. Keep your current stock, root it and try to install recovery. After that you should try flashing some froyo roms or CM or andy's and you see how it goes. Baby steps

There is no touch bug on 2.3.3 stock ROM. Other than that - really, take your time and do some reading. You are asking horribly generic questions.

Sorry for the questions...
And I'm already doing some reading about custom firmware and this whole thing...
I just want to know your opinions about this... if is better a cfw or the official GB fw
Thanks!
Hi, fellow brazilian here. I suggest you start by rooting your phone, install recovery then install franco.kernel v18cfs. It will fix the touch bug, speed up ur phone and will give you great battery life. This way youll have a tottaly bug free device.
As others said, wait a little before installing a custom rom. They all have little bugs, enjoy stock froyo for a while and keep reading the forum.

Try Mik ROm based on 2.3.4. This is best so far with franco kernel V18

Oh, yes...
I have read about this Custom ROM! In a poll in this forum, it is winning with a good difference...
Well, can you answer three questions, please? =D
1 - This Custom is really better than Noejn's?
2 - It is available in my language? (PT-BR)
3 - How many points this custom makes in a benchmark?
Thanks!
=D
After flashing recovery, don't forget to make a complete nandroid backup from custom recovery, before you start messing with your phone... So u can always restore your current firmware.
..
Erm and copy it to pc..

After rooting, flashing custom recovery and kernel, I have to make the nandroid backup, right?
Obs.: I have the OFW Backup. The backup that you are talking about is from the custom recovery, right?
Thanks!
And about my questions in the past post?

Root, install recovery and do a nandroid backup. Its easier to restore the stock rom using recovery, and safer too.
I can see you are eager to install gb on your device, despite our suggestion to keep your stock rom for a while. Then i suggest you flash mik's cm7, IMO the best rom out there.
Every rom based on cm7 has pt-BR, and in my experience mik's cm7 + franco.kernel + ungaze's data2sd is the fastest combo available.

Obrigado, amigo nordestino! =D
But what is "ungaze's data2sd" and where i can get the PT-BR version?
Thanks! ;D
Edit.:
I didn't found the tutorial about the Nandroid Backup... anyone can send it to me?
And now I know what is data2sd... =D
Thanks!
Edit²:
What rooting i should do?
SuperOneClick or z4root?
And what Custom Recovery? Mik's?
Thanks again!
Please, someone!
XD
ungaze data2sd is script for making some memory of your sd card function as phone memory....so that you can install more apps without moving them all time to sd.....as suggested go step by step....
1.root your phone using gingerbreak.
2.install rom manager from market.
3.install clockworkmod recovery from rom manager.(dunno abt language)
4.reboot into recovery and do a backup of rom.(nand :there is an option in rom manager menu too :"backup rom")
5.flash franco 18.1.
6.flash rom of your choice.(mik /andy/noejn anyone .....better ones from them are on the way)
take your time after each step...dont be in a hurry...and complete this before asking other questions!!
hit thanks if i helped you
Thanks man!
But, one question...

wanna upgrade ROM

hello frnds. Im new here. Im using p500 since couple of weeks. It has froyo 2.2.2 and custom ROM. but my phone is having some gallery realted problems n hang issues .
So, someone please suggest me a really good ROM and if possible, a step by step guide of upgradation.
thanx in advance.
check out this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354
Step by step? Since you say you have a custom rom the steps should be pretty much the same. Please read the dictionary and faq. If you want step by step please do it via pm with someone.

Before flashing a new rom (unless you really do want to try a new rom), try backing up your sd card to your pc than format the card and copy the files back on. You may have a file system issue.

[Q] Starting from Gingerbread

I have a buddy who is still on Gingerbread (DarkyROM to be exact), and I'm trying to convince him to upgrade to CM11. Does anyone have any good guides for this? I'm not sure if there's a ICS bootloader he needs to install before flashing a CM11-compatible version of CWM or before CM11 itself (this is my main concern, can't find anything in searches).
Thanks in advance!
