[Q] VPN on Cyanogen 7 - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hello,
On my X10 mini pro I upgraded to Android 2.3.3 using Cyanogen 7 hoping that the VPN will work, but it didn't.
I purchased from StrongVPN and their service works very well on the desktop and iPhone, but it never worked on my Android.
I tried the program "VPN Connections 0.99" but it always does Force Close. I tried Transproxy to connect to my PC as a proxy, that too crashes.
Tried configuring Hotspot Shield free service on Android, no success
Tried Tor for Android, it connects successfully, but when I do a test, the test says I'm not using Tor!
I feel that I tried everything with no success to make VPN work
Any help?

Please check for the tun.ko its posted in general or in one of the development threads by me,
Then copy it to lib/modules/ and then
Insmod /system/lib/modules/tun.ko
After that it should work!

Sorry cannot edit
If you want it to be always insmodded goto hw-config.sh
And add at the end
Insmod /system/lib/modules/tun.ko

Shouldn't the tun.ko be made specifically for Android 2.3.3?

http://www.mediafire.com/?9g14y8i18xx2642
Here is the link. I dont remember if it was an xrec update zip or not, so just extract and copy via root explorer or adb
Permissions are 744

no the tun.ko
has to be made for the device and kernel.
but all the ones i found so far were not working so i compiled my own one
edit:
please let us all know if it works afterwards!

Man I can't thank you enough! You people is what you make the world a wonderful place
Yes it worked! I was able to use Hotspot Shield free service using the VPN Connections 0.99.
The issue now is that it is so slow, that's why I purchased VPN service from strongvpn, but no matter what I try using the system's VPN settings, it doesn't connectt it just takes long time then ask me if I want to retry connecting...
Man if you like I can give you my credentials to try.

First of all LEARN TO GOOGLE.
Second, from what i understand Wifi Hack is an app to hack/gain access to secured networks, whilst this sounds cool i have a strange feeling that someone might get in trouble for posting the apk, i could be wrong though.

I would like to know if you have experience with VPN Cisco with IPSec Shared key. I tried few of them but none of them seem to work. I have the configuration correct and tried with my Ipad VPN with no issues. I greatly appreciate your help.

Suggestions/Apps for direct access to my network without Wifi

I downloaded ES File Explorer and it works great. However when Im away from my Wifi I would still like to connect to my home network using 4g if need be. I do not want to use Dropbox, All share but would like to somehow use ES File Explorer with the FTP option. Are there any recommendations you guys have or any apps?
Try smart ftp I'm sure it's still free or better yet what version of windows are you running u could just enable iis

That's what vpn is for.
Many routers support Vpn Server capabilities out of the box. And even if yours does not, there is a high chance DD-Wrt can run on it.
Alternativerly you'd need to keep your computer running with a vpn-server on it.

Can't connect to wifi in other countries

I have a Sony Ericsson xperia x10 and can't connect to a open wifi in another country. Like at Mc Donalds it says connected to wifi but it won't download any data. I also have a Motorola atrix and it connects without any problems. Is this a known issue?

1-make sure airplane mode is turned off..
2-try to forget the wifi (talking about Mc'd)- then reconnect
Hope this help

Doesn't work either if you use any external wifi software? e.g: "wifi manager"?
Also, check and be sure that these places doesn't use any host or proxy (just to be sure)
Which ROM has installed? kernel?
Regards
Don't you have to sign I'm for those services?
Open browser and it should take you too McDonald's WiFi cloud website
Enter your mobile number in there and they give you free access
You have to sign up to get access as it's monitored
Hope this helps
If your browser doesn't take you to McDonald's sign in after Conncting, try dolphin browser, it's redirects are way better
Also where I live you can't download anything from market on WiFi cloud
But forums work fine
