Sometimes seeing how a process is done is better then reading. So I put together these videos which are growing and some being redone. If you have a video you would like me to post in this section send me the link and I'll check it out. None of these videos have ads in them or will ever.
The videos will have two sections one for ubuntu and one for windows.

I have been seeking the procedures/how-to in order to do screen captures on my GTab.
I've seen (what appears to be) screen captures from GTabs, but no instructions on how to perform them. Tried the "Shootme" program but get nothing but black. Research shows the Shootme program uses the frame buffer and the Tegra units don't use that for screen display.
Has anyone figured this out or can point me into some direction?

You cannot use the screen capture apps to get them, you have to use a desktop PC and run the dev environment. Search should be your friend but if not then I can dig up something.
I've been searchin' & tryin'
As far as the desktop PC, I've been reading about using DDMS to get the screen captures. To help clarify things, I have Flash Builder 4 with the latest Android SDK installed. The GTab doesn't show up as a device on any program I use following the instructions I found.
One thread had instructions on modifying the android_winusb.inf file in the Android SDK. Problem? There is no android_winusb.inf file in the Android SDK to modify. At least in th one I downloaded & installed today. Hum.
I've been googling, searching, and I think I've actually gone through every post in every GTablet section here without finding something - or else I've just missed it.
So, any links to threads, blogs, whatever would be greatly appreciated!
The only way I know is to set up a development environment by installing a Java 6 SDK, the Android SDK, the Eclipse IDE and making some configuration tweaks.
You can find instructions on the Android Developers website here. If you get it all installed but need help with the ADB (Android Debug Bridge) configuration, read this thread in the 'G Tablet Android Development forum'.
The android_winusb.inf file is in the 'google-usb_driver' folder which will be under the Android SDK folder only if you chose to install the 'Google USB Driver' package from the 'Android SDK and AVD Manager'.

no sdk needed if you use a program called QtADB it already have the adb file (or they are avalable on their website) it has a screen capture and is a very useful manager, you just need to setup the adb drivers for tegra....i already have them if you need it
I just take pic with my phone lol
Sure do appreciate your comment regarding QtADB. Followed up on the various links and got plenty of info including downloading the file. However, you mentioned drivers: "adb drivers for tegra....i already have them if you need it." I couldn't find drivers mentioned. Sure do appreciate if you could advise as to where to get them. I have Windows 7 Professional 64bit on my Computer. I have a G-Tab with my recent download and install of VEGAn-TAB 7.0. Which, I really really like. Made my G-Tab a completely different Tablet than the silly software driven thing it was when I first got it. Anyway, thanks again. Sherwin Silverman [email protected]

Screenshot ER works. There is a thread about it in here somewhere. I bought it for ~$2 and successfully took a screen shot. No ADB needed.
EDIT: For clarity, I have only tested ScreenshotER on VT Gingerbread edition.
Screen Shot it works fine.
After the trial worked, I bought a copy.
+1 for Screenshot ER
Remember to turn off Superuser toast notification in settings so you won't have the "Screenshot ER has been granted Superuser" popup in your screencaps.
Hello!
I just started a new youtube channel called OfficialGameDubstep and our goal is to get people to listen to dubstep and have our songs published on there!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrEnONDt8nc
Now i came up with this idea of making a app that shows ALL our videos in a rss feed way like a list and a little thumbnail next to it and you can click it and wath the video.
Now my question is (Never made an app before...) How and what program('s) should i use???
Why don't you make a website mobile-friendly in html5 ? This way it will work on different devices and resolution (iOS/Android/..) without even installing anything !
If you know html and php, that's a gooood start already.
Sencha touch is a framework that might help you, but there are even tons of tutorial on html5 out there.
If you don't want to stick to youtube, I can point you to soundcloud (also have html5 support)
If you like dubstep, please consider this and this also
expanding on what ell3 suggested, you can use phonegap to turn html5 into native apps for android, ios, bada, webos, sybmian, etc.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A

Sencha Touch is one option, but have you taken a look at Davinci Studio? It's a dev tool similar to Sencha, but based on HTML5. It also has a jQuery framework...so it's pretty universal and a lot of devs can get the hang of it pretty fast. You can download it for free at their site and ask them questions and stuff on their forum.
Have a look at http://jquerymobile.com/
I use this framework for my mobile device pages.
I am hoping to record some video tutorials for a mobile device user group at work (I work at a university) that would be directed toward the faculty and staff. I'd like to record the screen of an Android device as I walk through the different tutorials, but not by video camera. I'm thinking screencast, but not sure what the best software is to use...
I'm more comfortable recording everything on my computer using Camtasia. I have the Android SDK and got the emulator working, but I don't like that I'm limited in terms of apps (some tutorials may go through different apps). No market makes me feel limited.
I also tried AndroidScreencast (the java file that's floating around). That fails to load, I'll have to post the error code(s) later if someone actually wanted to tackle it.
I also tried [email protected] (droidcap) but the image is over exposed/washed out. I even tried saving a png to see if I could correct the image in Photoshop and found the png s mostly transparent, which is what is causing it to look washed out.
Then there's the Screencast app that I'm not sure I want to spend money on yet. So far the demo looks promising and I may end up going this rout instead, but are there any other options I'm missing? I'd actually prefer a root-free option as I may upgrade my phone and choose not to root when that time comes (I don't plan on leaving this job and expect this group to grow).
Is there even a way to just send a video signal out like mhl but directly over usb to a computer? I'm guessing you'd need a specific program to receive it, but I can day dream right?
Screencast is pretty good. It will be worth the money if you are gonna make a few videos. It produces a very nice video. Worth the $4...
I'm a .NET guy just starting out with Android development. A million years ago I studied Java in college so I'm sure it will all come back quick as far as language and syntax goes, but I'm going to have a lot of questions along the way.
My current project will be both a learning experiment and an app that I will actually use when done. I'll try to give a high level overview of what I need to accomplish and hopefully you guys can help.
In a nutshell, this app will display pictures. Think of it as a gallery viewer, but the images will be stored in a folder on a remote server instead of being stored on the device. When the app loads it should display thumbnails of all the images currently in the folder, with the newest ones first so that when a new image is uploaded to the folder it will be the first thumbnail in the list. Clicking a thumbnail should simply display the image in full size (or, not FULL size, but rather the image should be scaled to take up the whole screen).
I could do this very simply as a website but one of my main goals is to make this an "app" so that I can understand how the whole apk process works.
So step 1... where do I begin? :silly:
developer.android.com is an excellent place to start. Have you worked with the eclipse ide at all?

hi guys i was wondering if anyone was considering the idea to create (if it's possible) a sort of rom which works just like tony stark's phone with those floating windows, menu, gestures and animations. I've always wanted something like that since 2010, and until now i always found widgets, uccw skins and regular themes.
it's 2017 and i still can't believe that no one has tried to do something like this.. wouldn't be cool ?
i'll leave you the youtube video of tony's phone so you can have a better understanding of what i mean.
video (i'm new, i still can't post urls on this thread, sorry)

That would take an oem to do. As it would have to be a completely new distros. I wouldn't expect people here to try it. As updating would be a pain as every update Google pushes would have to be rewritten from scratch
