How to update Superuser su2.31-bin-signed.zip in motorola atrix with flash card? PLEASE HELP!

Okay, I'm currently flashing the original 1.2.6 SBF to my atrix, to clear it out. Then to my knowledge, to root the 1.8.3 update or whatever it is called I need to plainly update it to the latest update then use Gingerbreak? I tried Gingerbreak, on a flashed SBF of 1.8.3 and that didn't work. It stayed on the window where it said it was currently executing the thing. Am I right? Is there any other way to root the latest update?
btw I used the exe shortcut to get gingerbreak.
Use GladRoot. It works with the new update promise.
updated and rooted with GingerBreak
I updated to 4.1.83 and rooted without problem with GingerBreak. As it was warned, the process deleted the files from the SD internal card. So it's good to make a backup before.
Hi, I do a stupid OTA update to Android 2.3.6 on my XT910S (Korean version) right after i bought it, not yet rooted.
Now i can NOT root, even with ZergRush v2,v3,v4
Can i go back to 2.3.5 to root? Would anyone help me please?
I'm a new user so... sorry for my ignorance
Thanks so much!
Just flash the fastbootfile of the 2.3.5 version
Root it and back up root with the OTA rootkeeper, update to the 2.3.6 and restore root
--> 2.3.6 with root
Use ota rootkeeper before upgrading

Use EU version, far better than Asian version. As far as I kmown, there is still no asia retail fastboot file.

or just use the search function to locate the Retail.en.EU flash files of 2.3.5 from EternityProject with the own Flash method.
- flash to 2.3.5 (start in fastboot mode and run the fla****-file)
- gain root with zergrush
- load OTA rootkeeper from the market
- "protect" root with rootkeeper app
- OTA to 2.3.6
- restore root via OTA rootkeeper
I have done the same thing i have the USA version with verizon i want to go back to 2.3.5. where is a thred on how to fastboot and were do i get the file.the file i have is this one VRZ_XT912_6.5.1-73_DHD-11_TA-3_1FF_02.xml.zip. Im new with the razr done many sbf on the droid x.
You may not have to go back now...
Warning, I am not rooted YET, but this link seems to suggest that we can now root after the OTA without the Safestrap/bootstrap. Check it out and good luck!

You the man works great thanks.
I am not going back, it fixed my day by day data droping.
When I boot my phone it goes to cwd bootloader first will this interfear with the ota to ics?
I never flashed a rom but it is rooted and has rom tool box on it now.
thanks
You have to remove CWM and root in order to have no error during OTA installation. At least it is so for GSM RAZRs. Anyway with OTA RootKeeper app you can make a su-backup before proceeding, and then restore it after successful applying of the OTA.
This is what is getting me, will a factory wipe do it.?
I have voodoo installed and got that figured out but the cwmod app itself is gone and I'm :O. Cornfused
razr maxx - stock rom
Sorry, cannot advice more cause you're Verizon Droid RAZR owner, these phones have safestrap instead of ours bootstrap, you'd better wait for someone from USA to reply you or ask on droidrzr.com.
Thanks, I am learning

The OTA ICS update is already live, but you cannot update if your phone is rooted.
Having root doesn't affect the download of the OTA update. You can wait for it to notify you, or you can go to Settings -> Device Info -> System Updates to start the download. Having root, you can save the update .zip and .crc files from /cache and put them on your SD Card which is useful for some update methods.
Root and things you can do with root affect whether the update works or not. Installing Busybox in /system/bin, installing bootstrap or safestrap, installing a custom recovery, and who knows what else can prevent the update from completing properly. The guides often recommend wiping the phone with Matt's Droid Razr Utility 1.6 (maybe modified) or 1.7.

Just got a RAZR M and finally was able to unlock the boot loader and root the phone with Motopocalypse and Droid RAZR M Util 1.20. Recently I heard that the next RAZR M factory update will have an impenetrable boot loader and be unrootable. I am now being pestered to install an update which I assume is this impenetrable one. If I accept this update will I lose root and be unable to reestablish access or will my root access be unaffected? If it will destroy my root capabilities, how do I stop the update pushes? Thanks to anyone in advance who can help with this.

This Razr forum, so we - Razr users can't help much, because it's completely different cpu. You should search in Razr M forum for help. As I now you always should unroot or use Voodoo OTA rootkeeper with removed root to apply OTA.
