I have the TnT Stock Enhancement Pack v3.1.4b. After launching the market, I was asked to enter my google account. Everything works fine after market fix (big thanks to rothnic and roebeet). All the google applications (market, gmail, gtalk etc.) would have automatic log-in enabled. I would prefer to be prompted for password to get into any of these applications for added security. This can be done in iOS. But I have not been able to find a way to do this here (I am an android newbie). Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi!
Being quite paranoid about my personal data, I installed CM7 onto my Atrix, with only the Market and the very basic Google framework with a dummy account set up so I can download apps. (Don't care if they know what Apps I look at.) But what happens when I turn on Location Based Services now? Is the message about Google being able to track me at all times even relevant with this much of the Gapps deinstalled, or what is it that would send data to Google? And can I somehow safely disable it by removing permissions through (e. g.) LBE Privacy Guard?
Ideally, I would just like to grant the rights to see my status to an Open Source navigation software and similar apps, as I never even use that Web 2.0 crap anyways.
Thanks,
David
Hi! Not sure if I'm in the right spot, but I figured I'd start here.
I just recently purchased the Asteroid Smart receiver and I'm having issues with the Google Services Framework. I followed a lot of guides to get Google Play to work on the deck and for the most part, I'm happy with how I have it setup. Google Calendar doesn't work, but I can access it from the web browser, so it's not that big of a deal. Besides that, everything else seems to work, except for the Google Play Services. It tells me that I cannot download to a duplicate user id, which I'm sure it has a lot to do with the account management apk file. Google's Framework Services also Force Closes whenever I first turn it on or/and when I connect via Wifi. It's annoying and even after the guides I've read, I can seem to fix this. Although I'd love to get the rest of my Google Apps to work, like the Calendar, I'd be far happier if I could get the FC messages to stop appearing.
Anyone know how to fix this? If I remove that apk, will it stop my Google Play and other Google Apps from working?
Does anyone have experience with profiles in KitKat? I have an LG G Pad (Verizon) and would like to allow my kids to use it (rarely) without access to my work information. I have tried two ways so far:
- Add Restricted Profile: this lets me allow access to apps I have installed and it sort of inherits some information from my Google accounts. However, I have been unable to get Play Music or Play Movies to work - it doesn't appear able to authenticate or get proper access to the base Google accounts. There are errors that seem to indicated that Google Play Services and not available to the restricted account. Am I doing something wrong? Why allow access to Play Music, if you can't get access to the music in any accounts?
- Add a new User: this will work for what I want to do, but I will need to re-setup everything, as it inherits nothing from my account. I will need to re-add the Google accounts, re-install any apps that are wanted, etc.
Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong? Or other options? I need to be able to keep the hotspot running in the background as well, to feed the other devices in the car.
Thanks.
I use Google assistant on my Android on a daily basis, with the tap of a button - to get directions, make a phone call, send a text, open an app, etc. However, my 10-yr-old son has figured out that he can bypass my password-protected browser apps (such as Chrome) by doing web/video searches directly on Google assistant. For reasons that I won't get into here, it is imperative that I prevent his unauthorized access to the internet. However, I don't wish to bury Google assistant under a password or a lock screen, on account of how often I use it for all sorts of other stuff. IS THERE A WAY TO DISABLE WEB SEARCHES FROM THE GOOGLE APP, OR TO FORCE THE APP TO DEFER TO THE CHROME APP FOR THOSE SEARCHES?
I do have a rooted device, if that helps.
I am having the same issue with the Cortana assistant app on my Android as well. If I could get either Cortana or Google Assistant to block web searches, I'd be happy.
Hi All,
When I purchased my huawei p40 pro, I was digging in the forum and found some ways to install GMS. However the method I have used is not flawless, (I used this one) and I am starting to lose it. I wonder if there is any better option currenty which would solve the issues I am having :
- Can't run programs because of no Google security service e.g. Company programs, Mc Donalds
- Can't have push notifications of some programs like Discord, Gmail
- Can't have NFC feature for some programs e.g. Simple app.
- Can't add new google accounts to the device.
- Some other programs are just not starting properly, they close instantly or don't go further than loading screen.
Every help is appreciated.
Maybe you can try GSpace which is an APP container.

GMS ( read: Google Mobile Services ) is a basket of apps developed and copyrighted by Google. These apps require additional Google apps / services to get installed before to properly work, as these are: Google Account Manager, Google Servives Framework, Google Play Services, Google Play Store. The first three apps handle basic account services and add APIs, while the last app is the store itself.
