Hi all,
I install FreeX10 beta4, everything works well, except the openvpn.
There is the openvpn setting in my X10, but it seems it doesn't work.
(I could connect to server from my laptop)
Do I need to install more thing to make openvpn work?
Anyone can help me?

[Q] Wifi Tether no netfilter error

Hi, whenever i try to install a wifi tether app i keep getting the "No netfilter" error, anybody know how to resolve this error? I'm currently using this custom framework http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840913 and i have android version 2.1.
That's because there is no netfilter support in the default kernel.
Ah ic, any idea how i can add it, if thats even possible?
Just use 'Barnacle Wifi Tether', it works out-of-the-box.
Requires root ofc.

[Q] OpenVPN on the mini pro

Hello,
I was wondering how to make this work on the mini/pro
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919403
My problem is:
insmod: can't insert '/sdcard/openvpn/tun.ko': invalid module format
maybe because differnet kernel from bigdaddyx10?
I'm using stock rooted FW 2.0.A.0.504
Also, can't find openvpn on market.
Thanks!
Pabs
i'll see if i find some sources and will try to build a new .ko
There you go I compiled ipip.ko as well in case you need support for virtual ethernet device as well (I dont know if you need it for sure).
openvpn_ko.zip
Also make sure to change permissions (I think it was root:root, and chmod 644 I could be wrong though)
Cool! Thanks sir! Will try this out later
did anyone try this?
last time i tried tun.ko with openvpn, it rebooted the phone :e( apparently some kind of bug in the original kernel sources
Well insmod for both files work. Make sure to insmod ipip.ko as well its tunneling for ipv4. So i think it should work with openvpn as well. Didnt try openvpn though

I was able to connect to an open ad-hoc network using wifi ad-hoc enabler in Oxygen ROM. I did a backup jst bfore installing the enabler and restarted. Everything was FC ing. But, I installed wifi enabler and it was working. As almost every app is FC ing, I installed CM 7.2 RC1 and tried wifi enabler. It was not working in CM for me .It shows the network but unable to connect

ROM compatibility might be the issue...
I guess, its time to revert back to stock bcoz of frustrating, yet silly issues in custom ones

It's for example in nightelf's kernel. But You have to create dir /dev/net if not exist and make symbolic link from /dev/tun to /dev/net/tun
Download tun.ko installer from market/google play

Like I wrote... Use nightelf kernel (full version).
i am using xperia neo and im using it since the first time i had my neo. its working on me. by the way what kernel are in? all kernel based on 2.6.32.9 are working fine on my end.
edit: if you really want to try your vpn service then switch to CM (cyanogenmod) and you dont need to configure anything. btw, are you using the openvpn settings from the market or the built in one? coz i use the first.
im using codename9 rom now.. but the kernel is on experimental full..does it supports the tun.ko??? please help..im a newbie.. sorry for my english..

[Q] tun.ko module for rooted ICS Sony Tablet S ?

Hi all,
For running the OpenVPN client, I have been looking for a working tun.ko kernel module for my rooted ICS Sony Tablet S (kernel 2.6.39.4) or alternatively for the kernel sources to compile it myself. Unfortunately I haven't been successful soon far. Any suggestions?
Best regards,
Andy
Just after updating my tab from a UK Honeycomb to the US ICS and now I'm in the same position as the OP. I checked the tun.ko repository and it says it's available but when my tablet downloads it i'm told the download is incompatible.
Me too, I need it to use pdanet, and tun.ko installer doesn't work, it say incompatible.
Same here.
They've got a thread for the tun.ko installer app here on XDA, let's see if they can give us the module to try manual installation (I've asked this now).
new source code release
There is hope. I have just noticed that Sony released new source code these days. I will have a closer look at it at the end of the day....
Link to website is found in this thread:

me too i have the same problem with ICS
working tun.ko
After a few unsuccessful attempts, I have been able to compile a working tun.ko kernel module from the sources from the Sony website. Finally, I can connect to my institute's OpenVPN from my tablet again
I have shared my module using the app 'tun.ko installer'. So, I hope you guys can download and use it soon as well....
