[Q] Programs uninstalling???!! - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using stock 318 US version of the Streak. I have many programs on my phone. I keep installing and uninstalling new programs all the time. Recently I've discovered that about 10 or so programs, which I never uninstalled has been uninstalled. I don't remember uninstalling them. I know they're not there cause I can't find them in the app drawer, plus when I open Titanium Backup, it shows the programs as uninstalled. The funny thing is, when I tried to install one of those programs again, it gives me a warning to say this will replace an existing program?
All my programs are installed on the phone by default (I just install them, I don't move them to SD or anything like that).
Has anyone else come across this? Or have any idea what's going on?

How to remove the built-in apps?

Hello!
I bought my SGS2 from Three. It's layered in crapware which I would to remove. The problem is that it won't let me delete the apps?
Many thanks for any hint!
i've been using an app called titanium backup, this allows you to see the programs that are installed but dont show up in the normal program manager.
This program does require that your phone be rooted, so you might want to look in to that if you havent already.

[Q] Uninstall multiple apps, without confirmations.

I like to try apps. I think most of you do, too.
The problem is it's really difficult to uninstall an app in Android. I have an iPod Touch, and I can't say uninstallation on iPod Touch is that easy, but Android is worst.
Is there any app (with root privilege), that can uninstall multiple apps without confirming at each app? I tried many apps on the market, but non of them worked like that. One app could remove multiple system apps without confirmations, but it couldn't do that for user apps.
Please tell me if there is a way to achieve this.
And, Google should provide an option to turn off the uninstall confirmation + the useless "uninstalled" message boxes. Or add a way to uninstall multiple apps with only one confirmation (not at each app).
Titanium Backup - you can do batch installs and uninstalls of apk files.
Did not work
I tried the trial version of Titanium Back Up. It did have a menu for that, but executing it did not work. It just hung at 0% and did not progress.

I need your help fixing the market "My Apps"

So I haven't quit looking into what actually causes the market "My Apps" issue. While I do feel it truly is the database I have a slightly more detailed theory as to why it does it. However in order to test this theory I need to take a general poll.
How many of you discovered this issue after using some sort of Root tool (ie: Rom Toolbox, Root Tools, Titanium Backup)?
How many of you have accidentally or on purpose used the Market Fix that supplement these programs?
The reason I'm asking is semi obvious I suppose. While these programs can do great good it would appear that if not done correctly they can also do bad. Last night I decided to play with it a bit more and I Linked ALL system apps and user apps to the market. After a few minutes or a reboot I would get the error again. So I went ahead and broke all links again, deleted the .dbs file and started all over again. This time only doing system apps and user apps that I knew were updatable. This lead to the market functioning much better. However I'm not finished yet. I want to figure out what apps and programs trigger this. At this point in time most User apps are okay but I have found I have linked considerably less system apps to the market. What I would like to ideally do is narrow the list down to just a few apps that shouldn't be linked.
Also if anybody would be so kind as to copy and share their database file that would help tremendously. This file needs to be completely stock having NEVER used any of these programs to edit the market links. Sharing this could potentially help all Android users having this extremely annoying issue. If you would like to keep the amount of users who this down to just me you can PM me or even send it to me over Skype or some other messenger with a file share tool. Thank you all in advance.
For those of you currently having the issue I have posted a fix here: http://rootzwiki.com...market-my-apps/

With the "My Apps" being a blank page and not containing any of the apps from the account.

[Q] The Netflix virus ...

So here's something odd ... I rooted my NT to 1.4.0 and stay there, but didn't choose the debloat option (so Netflix was still on it). Later on I have used Titanium to convert it from being a system app to a user app, and then used it's own uninstaller to uninstall it (I have also used Titanium to uninstall it). No matter how I have uninstalled it, it says it's successful, and it disappears from my system ... until ... dun dun DUN ... it re-installs itself!
I have sniffed around with Root Explorer in both system/apps, data/apps, etc. for any hint of a Netflix APK after it's uninstalled and don't see anything obvious. I have also made sure when it's installed to uncheck the automatic update box for it on the Market, but sure as ish, it finds it's way back, sitting there in my app tray with it's little orange "new" label over it's icon. Seems to happen when Market runs it's updates on other apps.
Anyone run across this before?
did you unlink Netflix to Market, within TB? Did you delete any netflix backups within TB? did you freeze the B&N device manager? curious as to why you would want to uninstall the HD version of Netflix.

Did you make sure to block OTA (over-the-air) updates? Nook Tabs update the stock/built-in software entirely on their own, and since Netflix isn't meant to be removable on the stock ROM it's probably checking to see if you have the newest version and installing it since you don't.

Ah, the "HD version" myth that's been floating around about the Netflix app.
There's no difference between the stock version of Netflix that comes with the Nook Tablet and the one you get from the market except that the market version is a newer release. I've run both on my Nook and streaming quality is literally identical. The reason why the stock ROM plays Netflix vids in higher resolution than the CM7 Alpha seems to be related to graphics drivers and/or how the device reports its resolution to the app; the app itself is basically a "one-size-fits-all" kind of deal.
I haven't done anything special to Netflix in titanium other than use the uninstall button on it. I also did choose to block OTA updates while rooting.
I don't have a paid Netflix sub so I never use it, no sense in keeping it on here anymore.

One thing I was wondering about CM7 was whether I'd end up sacrificing Netflix quality, so thanks for the post (even though I'd have preferred otherwise!)

After rooting, am I okay to go into ROM toolbox and uninstall/freeze bloat apps?

So this is my first Android phone, I just rooted it this morning and got ROM toolbox installed. Am I okay to go in and freeze or uninstall all these crappy bloat apps? I noticed in another thread that people were freezing a ton of apps instead of uninstalling - is there any particular reason for this? ROM toolbox apparently gives me the option to uninstall every app that's listed. Is freezing just a better idea for safety reasons? This is all very new to me but I'd like to uninstall as much of this bloat as possible.
Also, are there any other "must have" apps or fixes/tweaks that I should do now that I have root access?
You can uninstall the bloated verizon crap if you want, but some things may not work properly afterwards. i think that's why we usually freeze instead of uninstall.
what you can do instead is make a backup of any/all junk you want to remove. that way it's always there to reinstall if you find your phone not working properly.
if you plan on installing a custom ROM, then none of this even matters. Uninstall to your hearts content. But we typically like original backups of the whole system in case something F's up.

This is sorta of off topic, but can you make a backup of everything? I was stupid and uninstalled something i shouldnt have now the I cant login to my google account anywhere on the phone. Could you do this for me and send me the files(s)? It would be a god send.

Actually, I did the same thing to a couple of apps before I realized what was going on. Then I got titanium backup after posting here and backed everything up, minus the files I uninstalled. It was mostly some random Samsung bloat apps. Everything seems to be working fine, so I don't think I did any damage.
I'll see if I can get the backup uploaded and I'll send you a PM with the link.
