I'm running VirusROM senseless on the Thunderbolt and I'm trying to download Adobe flash player 10.2 but I keep getting "package file not signed correctly error" therefore my installation fails . Smart flash player downloads no problem. Is anyone else seeing this issue? If so, any suggestions on how to fix it.
Go into Titanium backup and uninstall. Then download from the market. Enjoy.

just delete the flashplayer.apk thats in /system/app or /data/app
Cannot delete adobe flash..Read only file..have root access
I have root access and I'm using Root Explorer to delete or rename this file. Each time I do, it says, " this file is read only." Any ideas? I tried using titanium to uninstall the file but when it goes into CWM, it just says, "error installling file."

I found out that I needed to select "R/W" at the top of Root Explorer to delete that file. After I deleted it, I tried downloading the Adobe Flash again and it was giving me some error message. I rebooted the phone, tried to download again and was successful. I thought by downloading a newer file I would be able to watch youtube. I still can't. I guess I could start a new thread but will that adobe.fix file fix my youtube problem?

Why cant you watch Youtube? I have no issues there. If youre using the standard browser though, you will have issues. I would suggest Skyfire especially for videos or Dolphin HD. Both play flash within the browser.

I followed the steps on that link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688054
"To make it easier, all you need to do is download Adobe Flash Player 10.2.156.12 from market and replace the /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/libflashplayer.so which is AND 10,2,156,12 hex edited to look like WIN 99,9,999,99 for HULU.
1) Extract libflashplayer.so to sdcard
2) Copy libflashplayer.so from sdcard to /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib using root explorer and make sure the permissions for libflashplayer.so is rwxr-xr-x or chmod 755 the file.
To get this working, make sure to set your browser User Agent string. With the stock Android browser and probably other browsers excluding the Dolphin browser, you might have to do this each time you run any flash based site including hulu.com or start the browser:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686765
Others are strongly encouraged to make a .apk installer file to share with others as a contribution to the Android community. Unfortunately, I have no way to make the .apk file as I have tried existing .apk's and all they did was made it seem like Adobe Flash was not even installed on all sites including hulu.com."
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686765
After doing all this, I can finally watch youtube and HULU*added bonus. However, when I load the youtube application on my android, it says," There was a problem while playing Touch to rety"

Hi guys,
I rooted my device today and installed some things like AdFree and ES File Explorer (with root file explorer option).
Then I wanted to test how good our Nexus 10 works with Adobe Flash.
Here is your path to get full flash support with your Nexus 10:
You have to unlock your bootloader and root your device afterwards like described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987594 and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996900 or install a prerooted ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1997699 (keep in mind, that the newest version of CWM Recovery is 6.0.1.6)
You have to download the AOSP browser for Nexus 7 JB from here and follow the renaming steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780746&highlight=browser+apk
You have to install the Flash Player given in this post, or similar sources.
Enjoy your beautifully fast and sharp flash experience on your Nexus 10
I am not responsible for any bricked devices if you fail at some stage! My Nexus 10 runs perfect with flash now

It even plays Youtube Videos in 1080p. No 4K resolution supported sadly...
So Tube8 will work? Great! :fingers-crossed:
Yes it works perfect, I didn`t know that website..., but yes it works.

On my nexus 10 I have tried to put the apk into the system app folder using root explorer but it is not working. I renamed all the files that were already in the apps folder and when I reboot the browser.apk I put in there dissapears and is nowhere to be found. Its like the system app folder resets on reboot. Also, I found that root explorer would also sometimes not mouth the folder as r/w after pasting it in there. I have restored and flashed to stock, re rooted and tryed again with no success. Am I missing something?
Did you set the permissions of browser.apk to rw- r-- r--? I can't reconstruct your problem here. I restarted several times after the modification and the aosp browser is still there and runs perfect.

I have Flash working on Dolphin and Skyfire by just installing the Flash Player but I would also like Flash working on Opera Mobile if anyone has found a way of doing that on the N10.
Yes, it seems that on reboot everything in the system app folder is restored to how it was before. I have restore stock image and rerooted again and only installed root explorer and still. It is the same. Any one any ideas?
For other noobs like me, you'll need to search XDA for the FLASH.APK to install as well...it's not on the PLAY store any longer.
You can also try this method after you've rooted...
FLASHEX 2.05: (Root Required)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569816
I've used this method on every tablet I've owned (Prime, Infinity, Note10.1, Galaxy tab10.1) and will be applying this method on my N10 so I can watch my Hulu through the browser.
This method works on all browsers from my experience with it. You will need to be rooted though.

If anyone is having a problem where the browser crashes when you try to full screen flash video, you can stop this from happening by going into the address bar, typing "about:debug" then going into settings>debug and selecting UAString and then selecting iPad. No idea why it works, but it does.

You may need to make sure that the permissions are set right. ES will change them. Just long press the files, go to properties, then change the permissions.
So we copy each of the files in the /system directory of the smartactions folders into their respective folders in the phones /system?
for instance there is a folder for the app, all of those files go into the /system/app folder of our phones?? etc...

Thanks for the reply, I opted to not install ES File Explorer when installing the ROM. Is there anything else you think could be the problem?
Had posted in a dead thread on Google help groups about this issue several weeks ago. Just got this gem of an answer in my email this morning.
Many thanks!
BTW, I had installed ES File Explorer just to check it out, didn't like it near as much as Total Commander. Best file manipulator for both windows and Android in my opinion.

I continue to have this problem, I didn't install ES when flashing the ROM but tried installing, got the error, then uninstalled and continue to get this error. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I'm still having this problem and I DON'T have ES File Explorer installed, never did, choose not to install it in AROMA when flashing my ROM. Are there any other suggestions? Everyone points to ES but since I don't have it I'm not sure what else to try. Thanks in advance

Uninstalling Androget Pro fixed the problem for me.
I uninstalled ES and restarted my phone (stock EVO 4G LTE) but the problem still happened. On a hunch I uninstalled Androget Pro and then was able to immediately open a Google drive document.
Every time I try to download an image now I get an error stating download unsuccessful. Stock browser, which always downloaded images fine. Went to send a friend a pic as a joke and tried other sites and same thing. Not sure what to even check to see what is causing this. Running Shostock3 3.0.2

yeh like theother post don't like rom manager. Either way kinda pointless, why do that when the phone/browser used to work fine. Gallery won't even open as it says there's no enough space, that makes no sense as I only have like 20 pics in there, and I've had way way way way more then that before and vids at different points.
dog ate my usb transfer cable, so checking the internal with airdroid and es file.
Ok have about 2GB free on the SD (internal not ext), here's where it's odd, was at Lowes and was trying to check the merv rating of a filter and went to download it and had the same issue as before "download unsuccessful". Used ES File and it downloaded fine. But whats causing the browser to not download, it always did before. I'd rather have that work again and just go into the gallery and open the download folder, vs Scrolling to page -> ES File -> SD -> Download folder each time. And rather not have to use an app when never had to before.
Any ideas? I like to save pics sometimes and send as jokes, or upload, and it was easy to go right into the gallery and send from there. Any ideas what this issue is as I can't find anybody else with it?

Not sure what you mean/looking for, but the post right above yours has more info.
Just an i777 that I've always ran Shostock2 and 3 roms on. But stumped as to why browsers won't download anymore, but ES File will. Browsers used to download right into my photo gallery.
I got the gallery to open today, though it did give me glitch twice saying not enough memory and wouldn't open (when I have 2GB free). Seems to open fine now though.
Well mine was working fine with Shostock 3 till I bricked my phone. After I fixed my phone no Samsung Roms will work on my phone. The gallery said memory full deleat photo's or videos. And I can't download anything, or delete any files with file manager. I was wondering why. Did it have to do with me bricking my phone.
Fix: When I have the problem I can reboot into recovery and fix permissions and after I reboot everything works great

I tried to install aosp browser before this one in every possible way and followed instructions to the letter, but like this one all my efforts came to a halt on this particular problem - cannot save bookmarks!

Tried to install aosp browser once again but I still have the same issue!
I installed provided bookmarks sync adapter during all this but no luck!
I don't care much about bookmarks synchronization, all I care is that I can save them and that's not happening!
Another bust for me
I had to sideload because I don't have recovery, you should just have to flash the zip, then go into apps and clear cache and data. I've used this same zip on 3 different phones and I don't know how many roms without issues. I'm kinda stumped why just the bookmarks would fc.

Anyone know which folder the AOSP browser saves its bookmarks?
