Nookie Froyo 0.6.8
is a development build of Froyo 2.2.1 for the Nook Color.
ClockworkMod flashable! - info below, please *read carefully* before flashing!
This build is near-AOSP and contains almost no extra software not deemed required for the device to function normally.
It is pre-rooted with SuperUser, busybox, SoftKeys v3.07, and ROM Manager 3.0.0.5 however.
The eventual intention will be a build that other devs and users can easily fork and create their own custom builds, themes, roms, etc.
** THIS IS A DEVELOPMENT BUILD **
Use this at your own risk! Myself, XDA, and NookDevs are *NOT RESPONSIBLE* for anything that happens directly or indirectly related to this software!
We're approaching a daily driver! Most things work now, including mp3 and video playback. Post any bugs you find here!
I'd like to thank all the nook color devs involved in getting to this state, testing, documenting, etc. We've got an amazing group of minds behind this device!
INFO
The microSD card image contains 4 partitions:
/dev/block/mmcblk1p1 : boot (fat32)
/dev/block/mmcblk1p2 : system (ext2)
/dev/block/mmcblk1p3 : data (ext3)
/dev/block/mmcblk1p4 : sdcard (fat32)
Use these partition IDs when following guides that require mounting/remounting filesystems.
What's Working:
MP3 playback
Video playback
Youtube, Pandora and other mp4 streaming apps (apps not included)
Accelerometer!
Wifi (adhoc + infrastructure!)
Graphics acceleration (LWP!)
Sound
Browser
Mostly working
Lockscreen is wrong size - REBOOT to fix
Not included / Not working
gapps ( gmail, youtube, maps, etc ) - can be installed, youtube fixed!
Bluetooth
FM radio
This build was created using the B&N kernel sources for 1.0.0, Omappedia's Froyo source ( currently RLS27.9.0.RC0 ), and binary drivers from TI for wireless, SGX530 acceleration, and DSP codecs.
Download:
This SD image requires a 2GB microSD card! Bigger is OK, smaller is not ok!
Note: if you wish to use a larger microSD card, you can use a partition editor to increase the size of the /sdcard partition (partition 4, fat32) *after* writing the image to your card.
Simply unzip this image and dd the file to your (empty) SD card, just like nooter.

ClockworkMod Flashable ZIP!
*IMPORTANT*
- please wipe data/factory reset if you're coming from B&N stock firmware or another rom!!
- please see other threads about installing and using CWM recovery - keep this thread to NF issues please
- this has been tested only using CWM 3.0.0.5 downloaded from market, be warned it may not work with IOMonster's kit or other versions. Let us know if you try and it does!
- replaces kernel and ramdisk - if you were using an alternate kernel you'll need to reflash it.
- This will irrevocably erase and replace the software on your eMMC! MAKE BACKUPS BEFORE FLASHING, you have been warned.
If you're upgrading from an older version of Nookie Froyo, you should not have to wipe - however if you do have problems *wipe data* and try again.
*IMPORTANT* - this zip does not require any extra steps such as formatting /boot, changing system permissions, and does not replace or remove CWM. If you are coming from a ROM that required these extra steps and are having issues, *please post your questions there* so the dev can be prompted to correct those issues properly.
If you're coming from a rom that doesn't support CWM properly see the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11437545
Installing /system will take some time, and the progress bar doesn't update in realtime; you haven't 'locked up', just be patient as it may take a few minutes.

Do not try to Format SD card from Settings -> SD & Phone storage!
- there is currently a bug that causes the system to format the /boot partition instead of /sdcard when this option is used, leaving your NC unbootable. Format your SD card in your PC or another device if you need to! - fixed in 0.6.8!
FIRST BOOT TIPS -
On first boot, Launcher and SoftKeys will fight for control of the home intent - that is, when you boot the first time, your NC will ask you to pick your home activity.
*CHOOSE LAUNCHER* at first (DO NOT select 'always use this action'), and let the system boot and stabilize (3-4 minutes).
Hit Home (the N button). You'll be asked to choose your activity again, this time choose SoftKeys.
Try using one of the SU-required buttons (back or menu), and after a few moments SuperUser will prompt you to accept the action.
SoftKeys 3.06+ now prompt for SU permission at startup, just accept the superuser prompt when it pops, you'll still want to let the system stabilize for a minute or two.
If SoftKeys fails to ask for SU permissions, "Unable to execute as root":
Go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> 'All'
Select SoftKeys from the list
'Force close' Softkeys if it's running, then 'Clear defaults'
Hit the N button, choose SoftKeys when prompted to choose your home action, accept the SU prompt when it pops.
Workarounds for some known bugs/issues:
(default in 0.5.8+) Improved Refresh-rate (no flicker! thanks [mbm]!): this should set the refresh rate to 68hz, the supposed default for the Nook Color's LCD panel -
Code:
adb shell echo 68000,1024/70/200/40,600/10/11/10 > /sys/devices/omapdss/display0/timings
Browser: force closes when opening a website that tries to use location services, due to the missing GPS. Try browsing to a url by typing in the google search box, and if you can get into the browser menu changing your homepage away from google will stop it from FC'ing on open.
Lockscreen wrong size: Simply reboot to correct this.
Touchscreen is slow/unresponsive:
Turn your screen off and then back on.
Disable Haptic Feedback in Settings -> Sounds.
Also, see this page for a possible calibration fix: http://nookdevs.com/Recalibrate_the_NookColor_touch_screen
(fixed in 0.5.6 w/included SoftKeys 3.00) No buttons! Try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860153
(fixed in 0.5.6) SoftKeys - in 0.5.1 softkeys' buttons do not work due to a permissions issue. To fix, do:
Code:
adb shell mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 /system
adb shell chmod 0755 /system/bin/input
Please post issues/workarounds/bugs in this thread, I'll try to keep this list updated.
To answer from the other thread...
Timeframe-- well, this isn't me doing this. But I think the devs just want to take the edges off, so be patient... I'm just the messenger on the news that it's been done. This is other people's accomplishment.
In fact, froyo was done weeks ago, though not entirely from open-source/freely distributed components like this (as far as I know).
To answer some questions--
BT not working, FM not working, accellerometer not working. Softkeys should work... dont' see why not anyway. It's stock froyo. No gapps, no Superuser.apk, no nothing over and above AOSP. Overclocking not in but should be possible... video playback hasn't been tried (it's early still!).... battery life who knows I haven't even had a chance to let it run down... I posted because the news was "out" anyway. I also can't compare to stock because I've never run stock, believe it or not. But it's based on the same kernel 2.6.29. It boots off a SD partitioned for system, data, cache, and sdcard. Only thing (I think) it touches on the internal storage is resetting that boot counter, otherwise you'd only get 7 boots at a time. Doesn't need much space. 2GB should be enough. That's what phones have anyway. Guess it depends what you want to do with it. Performance is decent, not steller compared to my g2 at least. Will benefit from OC.

Questions on everyone's (well, mine at least) mind... please answer as much as you can, and a big big thank you!!!
1. Is BT working?
2. Is FM working?
3. Can we still use SoftKeys for hardware key emulation?
4. Can we overclock the processor?
5. How's the video playback?
6. How's the battery life compared to stock?
7. Since you're booting from SD, does that mean the internal memory of the NC remains untouched, should we need to boot stock?
and
8. How does the device feel overall?

So awesome, looking forward to the progression of this!
I got my SD to boot tonight!
It defiantly isn't for the faint of heart but it seems to work well enough as a good base to start on. Pretty snappy to boot.
I would like to emphasize that this is VERY rough around the edges and if you aren't planning on hacking with the kernel, or code, or attempting to make your own rom then this is NOT for you.

Defiantly awesome work (and pure AOSP + TI drivers) which means no propritary B&N bits
Thanks for releasing such and early build to the public. It's not often you see that.
(I won't even consider playing with this build)
As a humble Analysts I grovel at the feet of your magnificent tech prowess.
(thanks)
Does this include a working JIT or is that one of the things in progress?
That seems to be one of the more compelling things from froyo (at least for a device with more internal storage than a nexus one). I would expect (well, hope anyway) that the froyo JIT would have a noticeable impact on the speed...
Mods, can we please stickie this?
Very awesome... Will try it out later today!
Since this runs off the sdcard can you power down the NC and remove the sdcard and boot normally?

You also have the option of converting the volume buttons to back/menu as well. It is documented in this thread, but the filenames have changed in this build. You will need to modify the following files..
/system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl
/system/usr/keylayout/twl4030-keypad.kl
I am not a developer.
I am not likely to become one at this stage of the game...
I am, however, either brave or stupid because I am downloading the image and will see if it will boot on my NC.
I do this because:
A) I want to SEE froyo running on my NC, and
2) If I have any problems, feedback might help the devs
I love seeing all the progress that has been made on these things.
Is flash supported in the browser with this initial froyo build?

I tested flash and it does work.. The flash plugin is not included in the build however, I had to find it and install it via ADB.
Just rebooted back to my regular rooted NC system after pulling the sdcard and can only say-
Marvelous.
Yes, it is slow, no keyboard and all of the other things that were spoken of in the initial posts, but IT WORKS.
I don't have time to do much else with it right at the moment, but I will mess with it more later.

Could you post the flash plugin you used? I would really appreciate it. Could you also comment on the quality of flash videos online. I'd like to watch espn3 on the nook...in bed...lol
OK, so I booted the rom, and followed the instructions at nookdevs...
Installing superuser.apk and pushing su seemed to work just fine!!!
Softkeys installed and got superuser permissions and works as well.
Installed astro file manager, and that works fine too...
At that point, I wanted to mount the usb storage and move over a bunch of APK files... mounted the nook and could only see the mlo, img file etc... no problem creating an apk folder and putting files in there, but then I can't see that folder when I look for it in astro....
Any info on simply copying files via USB using this build?
Also, thanks to all the devs for the awesome work... looking forward to playing around with this more!!!
I've compiled a simple app to be able to easily mount to your PC any given partition.
Feel free to donate if this app is of any use to you. Much appreciated.
Please note that changes to the drive will not be saved if you do not properly unmount/eject the drive from PC (in Ubuntu: right click, unmount. In Windows, eject.).
For those using stock browser, apk files often fail to download.. You can install Astro explorer and activate downloads in settings (last option). Then you should be able to download this file.
Dolphin should work without issues..
This is a Beta release.
This requires a working root (su). By that I mean your nook must be rooted. Regarding HC, see j4mm3r's thread.
This can be used, for example, to open your SD or internal data on your PC..
You can mount pretty much any partition to your computer with this app:
- SD
- Media (internal drive for your media and documents...)
- SD Partitions (up to 4)
- Internal storage - BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS!!
There are two "mount points" on the nook (lun0 and lun1)
So you can simultanously mount two partitons.
As an example, you can mount SD on 1st and MEDIA on the 2nd.
Each mount point has it's own tab.
Please try it out and post feedback.
Thank you.
EDIT (13.02.2011):
This has been tested on HoneyComb and Froyo (not in Eclair 1.0>1.1).
In Froyo: USB Mass Storage (Notification bar) should be turned off.
Compatibility mode will need to be disabled in Spare parts (reboot required).
If this doesn't work for you, try entering manually in ADB while NC plugged in to your PC:
Code:
adb shell
echo /dev/block/mmcblk0p8 > /sys/devices/platform/usb_mass_storage/lun0/file
And post result here.

UPDATES:
13-02-2011: 0.2b => minor bugs and made app scrollable for Froyo Landscape
26-02-2011: 0.3b:
- Changed 'settings' label (mistake) to system.
- Added a "Make sure you properly unmount/eject drive from PC when finished" message when mounting.
- Added dual boot system and data (p9 and p10).
- Changed 'Confirm mounting' to 'Confirm', as poster suggested. Thanks.

Hmm can't quite seen to get it to work right. The app does nothing for me when I select a partition to mount. I can get the SD card mounted via android's USB connected notification. I've tried the app with it turned on and off. It's got super user, so that's not it. By the way, I'm running Froyo 6.7 off the eMMC. Let me know what to try.
EDIT: Got it to work after running the ADB command in 1st post. Awesome app, thanks.
Sam,
Thank You, you program made my day. It works great, I have been messing with vold.fstab for days and I could only mount the boot of my sdcard. So, I went with manually pushing file to /sys/devices/platform/usb_mass_storage/luno/file which worked but your app make the process much better.
Again Thank you for everything you have done.
Biz
Could this work as a Xbox media storage? I want to get a new demo, and I got no Hard Drive
Works great!
this is great! i was thinking (since your help in the other thread) about trying to cobble something like this together myself in android app creator suite but didnt know if i could manage or not. Now i dont need to even try! thank!
EDIT: 2 things, one, is it possible to have this setting survive a reboot? and secondly, is the display supposed to be tiny? it only fills like a third of the screen and is centered at the top. this is on emmc froyo 0.6.7 the screen is scrollable as you said so just have to scroll down for the confirmed button
Does it unmount them on the nook when they are attached to the PC? I was playing with the echo command and it seems that the nook is unable to see any changes to the filesystem. I wrote a script that unmount them then runs the echo statement. Then another script that remount them once they are disconnected.
Good question. As I said, this is beta. I'm open to any suggestion. From what I tested, changes did actually occur even when mounted on android..
Unchecked compatibility mode in spare parts and reboot for fullscreen..

Interesting. I did see that if you try to download / install directly from the HC browser it doesn't work. Perhaps people do this instead of trying with their computer and assume it doesn't work? Downloads don't equal successful installs.
For Windows users, it (currently) provides the only way to mount the 4th partition of my HC SD card. Am I mistaken? Perhaps others don't realize what this is or are put off by the UI?
Keep it up. This is a much needed utility ATM.
The UI isn't THAT awful, is it?
Anyway, this can help a lot of people, especially the ones not too familiar with ADB..

To a person familar with partitions and the android file system it's fine. To those expecting a more fruity / friendly UI, it's far from it. However, you can't please everyone and it might be a waste of your energy to try. It's practical / functional and that's all I need it to be.
Indeed it can, much preferred over ADB even though I can use it just fine. You might want to make it more clear in the OP that users that have problems may need to type "adb shell" before the echo command. Not everyone will know this.
You app works well Sam! I can finally access my media partition via USB. I am looking forward to updates. Perhaps retaining setting after a reboot? Great work man!
Works great! I downloaded it with dolphin browser (running froyo on emmc) Then used root explorer to navigate to downloads and just clicked to install. Doesn't get any easier than that!
Would it be possible to have it mount media partitions? Like if I have dual boot setup would it be possible to mount the extra partitions to edit them?
Which media partitions?
Right, forgot about dual booters.. I'll implement that in 0.3..
Thanks.

I want to thank you so much for this samuelhalff. I mean it. Something like this that may seem trivial to someone who can just do it means a WORLD to someone like me and i truly truly appreciate it. The devs/peeps here have made my little wanna be ereader ((hehe)) a great honeycomb tablet. I think its great for someone that cant afford the next great thing **xoom** to be able to join in the tech fun. You all have made me very happy with my little tablet.
Jamie.
Love the app!!!! but i got a issue now... There is no way for me to browse the media partition on the device... so I can not access my pictures that I placed on the internal storage...any insight?
Working great for me, HC on eMMC. Appreciate it!
I stepped an an interesting bug: when I mount my SGS2 on a Linux box (fedora15 if that matters) - while running rsync from both storage devices that SGS2 presents to PC I've got this:
Code:
2011/07/11 14:23:54 [32493] >f+++++++++ 6614-18DC/clockworkmod/backup/2011-06-30.02.39.19/system.img
2011/07/11 14:23:54 [32493] rsync: read errors mapping "/media/6614-18DC/clockworkmod/backup/2011-06-30.02.39.19/system.img": Input/output error (5)
2
and
Code:
2011/07/11 14:39:51 [32493] file has vanished: "/media/6614-18DC/clockworkmod/backup/2011-07-04.22.31.58cog/system.img"
simple test with
Code:
$ cat /media/6614-18DC/clockworkmod/backup/2011-07-04.22.31.58cog/system.img > /dev/null
reproduced the problem which only meant there was something indeed wrong with the storage. Note that above was the "built-in" storage and *not* my microSD card. Googling yielded no results other than links to CDROM's being removed on-the-fly.
Above scared the pants off me so I rebooted and made yet another backup of the system via CWM, and on freshly booted system attempted to run above sequence successfully.
Now here's the question: is it a known behavior (because I saw G1 folks complaining about similar stuff and Nexus 1 etc.) Should I even care about it?
One thing for sure - now I intend on backing up my phone several times a week with the full reboot, but that doesn't sound like something that is viable long-term.
BTW - phone is running Cognition-1.08 while I'm waiting for Cyanogen to produce their ROM.
Hello there,
I am new to the forum and pardon me if I post the thread in wrong place. I have got viewsonic G tablet and I am running gtabcomb 3.3 beta , bootloader 1.2 v.
Everything is working fine however there are some issue that is really irritating.
1. I have noticed the tablet does not respond to touch sometimes specially when the battery level goes around 70%. rebooting the tablet does not solve the issue. I have tried the touchcaliber app found somewhere on the forum but it seem to solve the issue momentarily.
2. i do not seem to mount my external hard drive or flash drive from the usb port. I tried all different file formats i.e. ntfs, ext3 , ext 4.
Thats all for now.
thanks in advance for any replies.
Take it easy.

You should be able to mount all three filesystem types manually. Automounting, however, only works if the filesystem type is either VFAT (AKA FAT32) or extn. And, if you use an external HDD, it may have to be independently powered--instead of being powered via the USB.
See this thread and this one.
Hello,
Sorry it took little longer to reply,
I could not try your suggestions as I ran into some other problem. apparently I did not have any terminal application. When I tried to install an application from market it is showing me error about purchase can not be made.
Market finds applications for me but does allow me to install. Looks like its broken on my tablet.
So now I need perhaps market fix !! I do not know.
I am literally lost.
Thanks
If you have adb set up, you can use that instead of using a Terminal Emulator:
Code:
C:\> [B]adb shell "echo -n 1 > /sys/devices/platform/tegra_touch/calibration"[/B]
As for Market not working, curse Google, then see this post.
I must thank you a lot. for the first time after 6 months , my tablet runs so smooth with your solution.
I have installed new market from .apk suggested in your post. its working fine as of now.
I am able to mount my usb flash drive in ext4 formatted via a program drive mount however I have some .mpg video files on it that is not displayed. it can see .mp3 file and directories on the drive but no videos.
Hi!
This was made possible by the great & powerful crpalmer, who has added the working CIFS support to his wonderful kernel.
So - now we can totally duplicate (and expand!) the functionality of the missing MicroSD slot on Droid DNA. Using this tutorial, you will be able to mount any network share as normal "local" folder, for example "External_SD", and use its content with ANY software, including stock music & video players, book readers, image viewers e.t.c.
Combine this with pocket WiFi-SD reader like this one or this one, or even the wireless HDD from Seagate, and the result will become, effectively, a smartphone with up to 1TB of internal (!) storage, accessible just like an ordinary MicroSD. Not to mention all the possibilities of shared drives at home...
So! You will need:
1) crpalmer kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2137293Version 2.0.38 or newer (it's Sense kernel)
2) Mount Manager from market (or just the Terminal)
3) Root & busybox, of course.
In two words, the terminal command for mounting shared resource looks like this:
Code:
busybox mount -t cifs //[COLOR=Lime]path[/COLOR]/[COLOR=Lime]folder[/COLOR]/ /storage/sdcard0/cifs/[COLOR=Lime]folder [/COLOR]-o ip=192.168.[COLOR=Lime]x[/COLOR].[COLOR=Lime]xx[/COLOR],unc=\\\\192.168.[COLOR=Lime]x[/COLOR].[COLOR=Lime]xx[/COLOR]\\[COLOR=Lime]folder[/COLOR],iocharset=utf8,noserverino,username=[COLOR=Lime]username[/COLOR],password=[COLOR=Lime]password[/COLOR]
You should give special attention to slashes - it took me A LOT of time to find the correct syntax. Also, note that "unc=" command accepts only IP, not the network path.
So, let's do some practical example; let's say, you have a Windows PC with the name "MyPC", where there's a shared folder named "GameOfThrones", and local IP of this PC is 192.168.1.3. You want to mount this folder as "Series" under "Video" on your Droid DNA's internal storage. (Don't forget, that Windows shares do not work unless your user account is password-protected).
Using terminal:
Code:
busybox mount -t cifs //[COLOR=Lime]MyPC[/COLOR]/[COLOR=Lime]GameOfThrones[/COLOR]/ /storage/sdcard0/[COLOR=Lime]Video[COLOR=Black]/[/COLOR]Series [/COLOR]-o ip=192.168.[COLOR=Lime]1[/COLOR].[COLOR=Lime]3[/COLOR],unc=\\\\192.168.[COLOR=Lime]1[/COLOR].[COLOR=Lime]3[/COLOR]\\[COLOR=Lime]GameOfThrones[/COLOR],iocharset=utf8,noserverino,username=[COLOR=Lime]username[/COLOR],password=[COLOR=Lime]password[/COLOR]
Using MountManager:
1) Create new mount
2) Topmost box: //MyPC/GameOfThrones/ (with ending slash!)
3) Second box: /storage/sdcard0/Video/Series (without ending slash!)
4) Mount type: cifs
5) User: username
6) file_mode: 0777
7) dir_mode: 0777
8) Password: password
(For every next option, press green + to add new option box if there isn't one already)
9) iocharset: utf8
10) unc: \\\\192.168.1.3\\GameOfThrones (use "\" slashes, NOT "/")
11) (enter just value, don't enter anything in "Name" box) : noserverino
Press OK and save configuration. Now you can enter Mount Manager options and check "Auto mount" to have your folder automatically available as soon as smartphone is started, or connects to WiFi e.t.c.
That's it
Best regards - Draco.
Been at this for over an hour... Keeps giving me message "No such device"... Any ideas? When entering local IP I use my PC's IP for both, correct? Or do I use the IP of my phone for one of them? I want to get this working and try it out over VPN. Thanks man.
Hi.
"No such device" means that CIFS module doesn't work. Do you have crpalmer's kernel version 2.0.38 or newer? What ROM have you installed? This method works only with crpalmer's kernel, which is made for Sense.

Yes, I flashed 2.0.38. I'm running Newts 2.03, his 4/27 release. I flashed kernel via CWM, s-off obviously. Kernel shows correct when I test it through terminal. But last night I was trying your mount method using terminal emulator, and after sever no-go's, I ran the commands another several times via command prompt & adb shell. I am on a 10.20.x.x network if that makes any difference. I tried the commands with both WiFi on and off on my phone. I straight copied and pasted into cmd prompt, with edits only to ip address, computer name, and share. I didn't even touch storage/sdcard0/video/series (manually created the video/series before hand).
Oh, and obviously I changed username & password.

Hi.
Try installing Mount Manager from market and see if CIFS modules are loaded. ("green box" button to the right of toolbar). Do you have your phone & PC in the same network? Do you have firewall installed on your PC? Can you see your shared folder from another PC, for example notebook connected to the same WiFi as your phone?
If ALL of this works, try Mount Manager method from my post.
Here is what I ran: busybox mount -t cifs //Diamond/VirtualSD/ /storage/sdcard0/Video/Series -o ip=10.20.x.x,unc=\\\\10.20.x.x\\VirtualSD,iocharset=utf8,noserverino,username=xxxxxxxx,password=xxxxxxxx
I understand, but ANY terminal command makes sense only if CIFS modules are present & functional. Mount Manager can check that, and load modules if they aren't loaded at boot time.

Well there is my problem, no modules. What am I supposed to add?
There should be at least three modules present if you flashed crpalmer's kernel correctly - ntfs.ko, cifs.ko & bcmdhd.ko . You can try lo "force load" them using Mount Manager's settings. All three are (should be...) located in /system/lib/modules
If they are missing, than your ROM is probably not compatible with this kernel. Try NOS 2.0.3 - wonderful problem-free & ultrafast Sense 5 rom.

That's the ROM I am running, I don't see those modules when I hit the "green box button, but I can try to load them via mount manager. I looked quickly and I see kifs.co, didn't check for the others. Are you saying if the Kernel flashed successfully those modules would load (show) in mount manager automatically?
Yes, they should. Use MountManager settings to load these three modules, check "Load modules at startup" & try mounting again, it should work. I use the same rom with the same kernel, and everything works.
Ok I'm on the road right now, I'll be back in front of a PC in about an hour and a half, I'll download kernel again and flash, see if modules load automatically, if not, force them to mount, and go from there. I'll let you know. Thanks for the help!

Here is what I just tried
Redownloaded Kernel
Booted to recovery, wiped cache & Devlik Cache
Flashed kernel zip
rebooted
checked mount manager - no modules loaded
"force loaded" the 3 modules
tried to mount and got error message: mount: mounting //Diamond/VirtualSD on /storage/sdcard0/Video/Series failed: Invalid Argument
I can access the shared drive from other computers on my network... Phone is on same network... UGGGHHHHH Should wifi be on the whole time or what? I've just left it on.
EDIT: GOT IT WORKING! Don't know what I did differently, but it works. This is great man thanx again. Now to try it over VPN...
Have you successfully gotten the HTC music app to recognize a mounted folder/music? If so where did you mount to? I can only get Google play music to see the files..

i had the same issue while on viperdna 1.3.5, i fixed the issue by moving all music files to /sdcard/Media and they should appear instantly in the music app now :]
