StreakMod/ - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
My streak shipped with the latest version 347. I rooted the phone using SOC 1.5.
I initially tried to flash Clockworkmod using MultiRecoveryFlasher, but clockworkmod only lead to an unresponsive black screen. I reflashed to StreakMod and the menu now shows fine. However, nandroid and and .zip installation won't work and give the error "can't mount /sdcard". After reboot from StreakMod, my android would be unable to detect the sdcard, and I would have to shut down/restart again to get the sdcard to register properly.
Without the ability to install .zip, I am pretty much stuck with my current firmware. Can someone help? Could it be a hardware problem?

did u try installing recovery.alt ( alternative cwm recovery)
ALso try to change ur memory card and see if that helps

bootlooping into clockworkmod Recovery v3.0.2.4

I had successfully managed to flash clockwork mod recovery using recovery flasher v1.3 and installed the zOMG ROM from here when I noticed that for some reason the home button was no longer working. I booted into recovery and did a data/factory reset, then tried to reapply the rom. (It was working well enough before the home button stopped working.) The problem is I never restarted back in Android. Every reboot of the clockwork mod recovery loops me back to recovery!
I have tried using my nandroid backup to restore things, and formatting the sdcard and copying files back on using the mount USB option (thinking maybe I had a corrupted copy) but still to no avail.
I'm wondering if the source of my problems is indeed the sdcard itself, since before I did the reboot into recovery I formatted the sdcard and copied the rom over to it. This removed the two files related to the kernal or recovery that were there before. Could this be why I am bootlooping?
Seriously, I need help here! I need my phone to work and cannot afford to replace it at this time.
Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this situation? Thanks!

Solved.
I was able to flash a different recovery from the command line using recovery flasher v1.3 and that allowed me to boot my phone directly into Android again. Then a few seconds later I was able to install RodimusROM and that seems to be working without issues. So I guess the biggest take away from this for me seems to be not to panic.

Can you help me out?
I S-OFFd my device and installed CyanogenMod Recovery v5.0.2.0 using the instructions from revolutionary.io. I installed the ClockworkMod ROM manager.
I don't know what i tried later, I did put PB99IMG.zip file in my SD card and i rebooted my device ---> went into the ClockworkMod recovery ---> used install from SD card option and selected the file PB99IMG.zip.
Before this ever happened when i put the zip file in my sd card and when i rebooted the phone is asked me this
Parsing..... [SD ZIP]
[1]...Bootlader
<Vol Up> Yes
<Vol Down> No
I selected Yes and it said updated. Then again i went to ClockworkMod recovery and used the install from SD card option and selected the zip file.
NOW WHENEVER I START MY PHONE ITS GOING INTO CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY, BUT NOT INTO ANDROID OS.
What should I do now??
Can you please tell me if i can solve the problem using recovery flasher v1.3??? and how could i do it???

[Q] Launching Clockworkmod Recovery w/o Rom Manager

Sup.
I'm currently experiencing some particular issue with my Legend which is CWM issue.
I used to install some ROM via CWM3 Fake-flash and since that I can't access CWM at all. Even ROM Manager doesn't help. CWM recovery just doesn't appear to be installed
But actually I remember that I was experiencing absolutely the same issue about a year ago and someone gave me an update.zip or something like that which loaded directly from stock android recovery (fastboot) and launched CWM Recovery! But I have no idea where this guy is etc.
So can someone give me this precious zip file?
Thanks in advance.
Cwm5.0.2
Same thing than cwm3 fakeflash, better.
Put it to the root of your sd.
Apply update.Zip thru recovery.
View attachment update.zip
Sup, thanks for this file but I can not use it because it's not signed. Can somebody sign it?
I have a similar problem. I updated my radio and since then my cmw has vanished... rom manager works, telephone is still rooted but no way to enter cwm, no nandroid backup and so on. when i reboot in cwm the phone stills stuck in a black screen with a phone image and a red triangle... wtf?
EDIT: nevermind... lot of time to my last flash, didn't push vol+ + power to enter cwm. embarassing

HELP - CWM Boot Loop

I need help to get out of a CWM boot loop. I was trying to flash Slim Bean ROM on my Samsung Fascinate SGH-T969D using the follow instructions:
h__p://forum.frandroid.com/topic/164264-slim-bean-43-sur-sgh-t959d-telus/
I installed "Darky ROM JVT-RE" with no problems (I9000 kernel with CWM). I then installed "CM install 10.2.1" according to the instructions via CWM. After the install, when the phoned rebooted, it locked into an endless CWM boot loop. It boots, displays the Samsung/CyanogenMod opening screen, boots into CWM which tries to install some update that does not exist (see attached screenshot) and the whole cycle immediately starts all over again with a reboot.
I've tried to manually boot into CWM Mode and also into Bootloader Mode to try to re-flash the ROM, but I cannot access either. I've tried the standard 3-buttom combination and various other combination with no success. I am also unable to access the internal storage "SDCARD0" to manual fix the missing directory and file, because the reboots don't give Windows enough time to load the USB drivers..
Any help would be appreciated.

Samsung S3 error on installing custom rom and now can't run my backup

Hi,
I have a samsung S3 and I want to update it to lollipop or above as my nexus 5 has started randomly rebooting and I need a phone to use whilst I sort a replacement.
I have been following this guide: wccftech.com/install-aosp-android-5-1-1-lollipop-on-galaxy-s3/ as I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this custom rom business.
I have rooted the device and installed clockworkmod recovery v6.0.1.2. and copied over the rom and the gapps file to my phone.
I then booted into recovery mode and made a backup of the current setup.
I then did the factory reset and the cache wipe(s) and installed the new zip for lollipop and then the gapps.
This is where I received an error "E: Error in /sdcard/0/0/0/Download/gapps-lp-20150314.zip (status 7) installation aborted".
I figured that I should restore to my backup now but when I press it, the app says that files can't be found.
I can see that the files that I backed up do exist but they appear to have been dumped inside a new directory called /0/0/0 (I think this has got three levels because I've tried this a few times).
Now I can't boot into an OS to get any other roms on the phone and I can't edit the files on there (I googled and saw a possible fix for the gapp status 7) and I can't get clockworkmod to recognise an external SD card so I can copy over a new rom or file to try (I have googled and it's suggested the FAT32 is the format for this phone and my size of SD card (16GB)).
Can anyone offer me some advice on how to get out of this situation?
Thanks
Sounds like you're at a place where you should start exploring using your computer instead of a recovery in order to fix your system.
I recommend using the PC software Odin and installing a stock ROM of your device. (Or perhaps using fastboot)
There's plenty of guides on how to use Odin both here on XDA and on the rest of the internet if you just look around a bit
EDIT: This link contains a (possible) fix for your problem.

Don't use cwm as it is an outdated recovery. Use twrp instead.

I had a look at the link you suggested and it's one of the suggestions that had come up whilst I was googling for a fix. Unfortunately, I don't have any way to get the updated script onto the phone as the phone isn't picked up by my pc whilst it's in this state, and I can't get the recovery tool to recognise the sd card so I can't put it on there either.
I'll take a look at the stock rom or fastboot option and see if I can get back into the phone. Maybe then I can apply the fix in the suggested post.
Thanks

I'll see if I can install twrp through odin.
Thanks for your help
If the phone works in download mode, try to flash a stock rom too.
Update - fixed
Hi all, just wanted to let you know that I fixed the device with the combined advice from here:
I installed TWRP after holding the volume down + power + home buttons and then pressing volume up when the message appears (I can't remember what this mode is called). I then flashed the device with the TWRP image.
After this I rebooted into the TWRP recovery mode (Volume up + home + power and then release power button when the samsung logo appears).
At this point, the device appeared on my windows machine so I could upload a new image to the internal memory.
I decided to copy on CM13 and GApps.
I then wiped the cache, system, data, and davik cache using TWRP, then I installed CM13 and GApps.
After a reboot the device came back up as a new install.
Hopefully that information may be useful to somebody.
Thanks for all your help
