Clockwork recovery download link - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When flashing my nexus one I was able to flash using fastboot. Is there currently a kthod for this. I don't necessarily want root yet just the ability to make a nandroid backup.
Fastboot recognizes tb, I just need the img files so I can flash them. Correct ms if I'm wrong... Please

Why not just download rom manager and install with that? You will need to root though.
I'd hit up Koush if you just want to try the recovery image.

The stock img file is available at most if not all the root method sites.
Check for the stock ruu pg05img.zip , this is what your looking for if I'm not mistaken?

Yeah that is probably it is in the zip, I just haven't been at the pc much lately and wanted to make sure this is possible. I don't want to unlock my boot loader quite yet just for backing up.

Manually Install CLOCKWORK Recovery on EVO 3D?

Ok sorry if this has been discussed before but this is the first time I Rooted a phone. Last night I followed the Guide and sucessfullly Rooted My EVO 3D. I have S-OFF and Titanium Backup shows super user access.
I seleceted "NO" to clockwork recovery during the rooting process because the guide said that it could crash and I wanted to make the process as seamless as possible. Now I want to install a custom ROM and want to know how to install Clockwork Recovery manually on my phone.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

+1. I'm used to using clockworkmod even though TWRP has more features. Use Rom Manager app to flash clockworkmod 4.0.1.5

Viper all the way.
I used Unrevoked, everything went smooth. I currently have TeamWin's recovery, but can I also install ClockworkRecovery? I have no idea if they would interfere with one another, or if having both is even possible?
If you use the revolution tool again its gonna tell you that you already have s off but it asks you if you want to download and install clockwork recovery. Y and enter and you got clockwork Found this by accident when I tried rooting a friends phone but didn't know he had s off already.

Most important updates are newest firmware (top choice) from here http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...T-1-05-11-0606&p=220556&viewfull=1#post220556
Rename to PJ75IMG.zip, put on root of ext sd card, boot to bootloader to flash...remove/move file from ext sd card root so it won't run again next time.
Newest kernel is not in this firmware update...get modded version here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1700251 which is recovery flashable or stock here http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...T-1-05-11-0606&p=241703&viewfull=1#post241703 which will need to be done same way as full firmware update...bootloader. Wire trick

I tried this method on a custom ROM without success but i had a rooted stock rom at hand so i preferred to flash that ROM to apply the method.
However I think it could work if the ControlBear program finds the paths it expects on the filesystem.
In particular it looks for /system/bin/su or /system/xbin/su.
So maybe, after a nandroid backup, you can proceed trying the method on the rom as is and, if ControlBear complains, move the programs it wants in the right path.
I think that proceeding in this way can't harm your phone, however, haven't tried this solution myself I don't know for sure.
thanks man, im downloading a stock rooted pg file right now, i just rename it and put it on sd card and reboot to bootloader?

Root new ICS OTA

What is the easiest way to root a stock Rezound with the latest ICS OTA? I'm not looking for custom ROM, simply root.
You still have to unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery and then flash supersu.

OK, so how would i do that, I'm seen some toolkit out there but it doesn't seem they have been modded for use with the latest OTA. I want root so I can wifi tether
I would start here:
http://htcdev.com/bootloader
Then flash this (v3.15):
Download it rename it PH98IMG.zip and place it on the root of your SDCard.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339679
Then flash the attached in recovery.. thats it.
http://androidforums.com/rezound-al...ys-noob-friendly-root-guide-start-finish.html
I don't know why there isn't a thread here for installing a temporary recovery then rooting as Scotty is on XDA too. I was HTVdev unlocked already, took the ICS OTA and then follwed Scotty's instructions for installing a temporaty recovery then rooting. Couldn't be any easier and the custom recovery is only there till you close adb then its gone. Much better option than permanently installing a custom recovery if you don't want one in the first place.

Easiest way is to simply use Hasoons all in one tool from the dev section. It runs all the commands for you from a GUI interface.

Super, works like a champ, the one change was set the phone to Rezound ICS, not Nexus
Once again, thanks to all the cumulative knowledge on this forum.
This is a useful thread guys - thanks to those of you helping those newer to rooting. If we follow these instructions, not bring rooted right now, do I have to wipe and reinstall all apps? I obviously can't run titanium backup without root. Thanks

You don't have to wipe all the apps, that will happen as you go through the root process. Since you can't use Titanium right now, what I did is write down the apps I had so I remembered to reinstall them. I bit of a pain but this way I didn't miss any.

Unroot without recovery

Hello,
So whats going on is my QI wireless on my phone stopped charging. so i called verizon to get a replacement which they are overnighting tonight to me. so my question is, is there a way (step by step) to just put the Orignal Recovery Flash rom back on the phone and just lock the bootloader without resetting the phone? if so and do that. well the tamper disappear on the phone as well? ?? because they want the phone how it is. they dont want me to do a phone reset so they can see what cause the problem...
So 2nd question if i don't fix the rooting and ship the phone as is to verizon. Do you think i well get charged for rooting my phone???
Thanks!
Flash a stock rom and kernel, restore all your apps and stuff, delete any root apps, remove supreuser/SuperSU, flash the stock recovery, and relock if you feel like it. If you all that you should be good.
Or just ruu and relock your phone. As long as the problem still persists they won't care that you wiped it.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I hope the new one doesn't come updated because if so you won't be able to root. I would restore the old one and see if the wireless charging works again if so you might want to keep it if the new one is updated.

The download on that post is a zip file, which you would flash in recovery to have a stock Rom. Then you would restore your apps, remove any root apps, remove superuser, put a stock recovery on there and relock.
