Should I uninstall Adfree now that the "ROM" has adblocking built in?
The gingerbread keyboard was not installed when I did the system recovery flash of GreyBlur, and Swype is doing that crash every 2 seconds deal. What should I do to fix this?
And finally, is this "ROM" replacing GingerBlur?
Oh, and I think the Grey is nice, but I personally prefer black

Yes you shouldnt need adfree now. Fix crashes by going into cwm recovery go to advanced and click fix permissions to fix swype or any other app crashing. No its not replacing gingerblur hes gonna be working on both now.

Kenn just added a zip to install separately for the gingerbread keyboard since people were requesting it.
Unfortunately the deal with "Fix Permissions" didn't work, but I can just install the gingerbread keyboard, uninstall all the swype stuff, and then reinstall now that I can type my user info xD

why?
do you think that the hosts file that ken has put out will magically update itself everytime there are new ad urls? there is nothing wrong with keeping adfree as it is a good way to make sure you have updated hosts file

Well fix permissions doesnt always work but does most the time when you have crashing issues. Oh well...
I hate the adblocking part, it screws with Admob and any app trying to use Admob. Infact I think words with friends reverted my hosts file because the first time I ran it, it came up with it encountered an error and needed to restart immediately after I installed Adfree..
Huh, I never had a problem when I was using Adfree with Gingerblur, on Words with Friends it just showed a blank screen on the ad breaks.

I´m just wondering if there is any way for me to remove the adblocking option? I wanna get free warbucks in gunbros and the only way to do this is by allowing their ads.

As much as everyone hates on motoblur theres one thing that im missing now that i flashed to greyblur...
When i connect to hdmi i only have the built in HDMI mirroring which in all honesty is quite useless because it only appears in the center of the screen and doest not rotate when the phone rotates.
I was wondering if theres a way to get back the webtop or multimedia function to play videos through hdmi or if theres something about the mirroring i dont know.

Here is the apk for the touchwiz launcher. I installed it with no problems. (directly through phone) this is the touchwiz30_rolle file. This file does not need to be installed through adb!
Credit goes to rolle3k in the nexus section for the touchwiz30_rolle.apk file
the touchwiz.zip file includes samsung widgets and original unmodified touchwiz launcher file. I have not tested/tryed these, though if you want to install them, it must be done through adb.
I am not responsible for any damage to your phone.

how did you get the launcher file to install?. I had no luck. i got it to push, just couldnt get it to install. please post directions.

In the zip file the .apk named "TouchWiz30_rolle.apk". That's the only one that installed for me. The one named "TouchWiz30Launcher.apk" wouldn't install at all. The widgets wouldn't install either for some reason.

My gf has a vibrant and she love the touchwiz. I like it a lot too is just personal preference.
Yes its also very choppy when flipping through screens on the application drawer....
can we possibly get a fix to that? I really love and prefer the TouchWiZ interface but the choppiness kills it, any one have any ideas as to whats causing it?

I plan on moving an old version of Vending.apk to system/app to replace it.
My concern is the market will automatically update. Can anyone comment who has tried this already? Is there any way to avoid it updating, or can the ROM developers prevent this in their custom ROMs?
I really have no clue why developers are using it.... its just SO bad. This is the first time I have been disappointed with Googles direction with Android.

actually the MARKET does auto-update itself. how do i know? because i received the new market without any mods to the market the night people started to report the update. plus theres a 1st party apk called MARKET UPDATER.
100% sure this will work. go to SETTINGS/APPLICATIONS/make sure the filter is set to ALL and scroll down to MARKET... click it and hit UNINSTALL UPDATES. this method worked when i received the the SIMILAR tab update,but im not sure if itll completely remove the NEW revamped market.

Well, the Market DOES AUTO-Update, even if you Uninstall Updates.... that's the problem.
I suppose I will move an old Market and replace the current one in system/app... but I imagine that if I freeze (titanium backup) the Market Updater app that may lead to problems? I don't think that app can be removed and not cause FC's... I would love to know that is incorrect.
If that is the case, I imagine it would be easy to avoid the new market. Anyone else hate this new updated market and tried this yet?

well i wouldnt say its a leak leak if you know what i mean...it has been rolling out to some users automatically,but the new revamped market does look kinda pretty,but pretty slow and buggy....

i just tried the "uninstall updates" method and i will let you know how long it takes for my phone to update back to the new market
it does auto update and installs in data/app not system/app
Check the cache for the update apks. I all ready have two in my cache.
I thought I may get used to the UI.... I am not. Still FUGLY and not intuitive.
Has anyone tried

Download the axura rom. Extract go to system apps then get the vending app and put it on ur current rom for some reason... Axura s market doesn't work like others it never updates.
I used it for 2 weeks and it never updated. Try that but save your current vending in case out doesn't work.
As for me my new market its working fine a few complaints but its alright for now...

can you just post the market.apk here? downloading an entire ROM just for one app sounds really unappetizing haha
outside of the above suggestion,I have personally tried every method you could possibly think of to permanently revert back to an old market, but this btch is quite relentless. I may create a Nandroid backup and uninstall the Market Updater....just to see what happens.
^ yeah, I have given up hope and now just hope Google can make another "improvement" to the market. It needs to change... I was LOVING the now older version with "Related" added, but the new UI and 15 minute policy just sucks (for me anyway).

Have you or anyone tested the rom to verify this? While a new rom with extra would be great, I wouldn't want to waste time downloading something that didn't improve my phone but on the other hand I'd like several people to give an opinion after installing the rom to verify it works or doesn't work.
Ive got it on my phone just now and while the OP is correct, it is full of pirated apps but with its JIT enabled the bloody thing flies lol.
Marketplace is fine for me so far.
I must admit im a bit disappointed as well and will be reverting back to my old backup for now till something better comes along.
I tried it too, and finally restored to do same modifications myself, due to some bugs : physical keyboard in qwerty (was AZERTY, impossible to come back), no more Sym/àü, ...
Done in 2 hours.
I actually went back to his ROM due to the speed difference.
I also installed Titanium Backup to get rid of some of the crap he installed which cant normally be uninstalled.
I use Fancy Widget Pro but the Taskiller hes installed keeps killing it
You need the Titanium Pro version though to uninstall stuff.

You can download the Titanium Pro using the Applanet, but yes, it's warez...
Or you can uninstall the Taskiller using the Root Explorer (just go to system/app and remove the app you don't want).
Or you can add the Fancy Widget Pro to the list of exceptions of the Taskiller.

Problem is there was no taskiller icon in the menu so wasnt possible to open it up to add it as an exception..

Try adding an icon of the Taskiller to a dock of the Launcher Pro. That's what I did.

Good idea, never thought of that lol
No matter anyway as i uninstalled it
or use advanced task killer, which lets you put it on ignore.
You can also improve speed, as well as battery life, by deleting a lot of the "sony ericsson" crap found under "backup" when opening titanium. Additionally, delete SE's "home" if you don't use it and any language packs under "system/user/keyboard-config" and "system/usr/zi"
I've also erased bluetooth, GPS, maps and text to speech (since i don't use them) without any problem.
Other tips for saving space -
Delete unecessary ringtones, alarms etc... under system/media/audio
Delete unecessary wallpaper from system/etc/customization/content/com/sonyericsson/homescreen/wallpaper
Delete boot animation (sorry, can't remember where this was)
Of course this isn't for averyone but personally I like a slimmed down, respnsive phone

Hey everyone that hasnt tried the new perm temp root needs to go ahead and get it. I was finally able to install the new swype beta after deleting all of the neccesay files via root explorer.
honestly I think the easiest way it to root the phone with the new perm temp root and then use root explorer and do a search in the root of the phone.
Just type in swype and delete everything you see. One these are deleted download the swype beta installer and the rest is hisory.
And barnacle is working like a wonder. Im using it now to type this on the laptop.

but when you reboot, all of swypes learned predictions are gone and you are reverted to the stock swype, right? Or does swype stay working after a reboot?
im pretty sure it will revert. but I have not tried it just yet. Personally I think ive rebooted this phone twice ever!!! lol unless im trying to root

It reverted, however, after you re-temproot, then just use TB, uninstall the system swype pkg, rerun the swype installer and it works again.

That's a lot of work.
Whats wrong with the Swype it came with?? I am so ****ing fed up with having to redownload updates every week using Beta Swype! Whats the difference between the new Swype Beta and the one preloaded?
I was just planning on backing up Swype with Titanium backup before rebooting to save custom words. Not sure that will work, but I'll find out when I need to reboot.

The preloaded one will stop working correctly after some time. Your traces will no longer register, your switch to the SYM screen will not change over to key in numbers quickly, ....

Well, at least I can temporarily use the much better version of Swype. Can't stand the preinstalled one. Especially that damn EN/ES button that I'm always hitting on accident.
The beta is much better.
So question, couldn't you just restore your settings etc from titanium backup AFTER you install the beta after a reboot? That might save your settings.

Also the swype 3.0 is definitely the best version out there. Still running it on my OG4G and it's hard to go to the 3vo and use the old version.

i'm not rooted yet.
If your stock Swype stops working normal, meaning trace won't show and keyboard such on caps, all you have to do is go to settings>applications>manage apps> look for Swype and force close it and delete data. Then next time you open it up, it will work normal again. I know it would suck if you had to constantly do it but I've restarted it once since I got the 3D and so far, no more problems.
Hope this helps some people.
Thought rather than creating a new thread for each bug found in subpsyke's latest release of CM7 for the i5500 (20120206) we should just compile them here, perhaps make life slightly easier for the developer???

Couldn't install apps from the market, phone gave 'not enough space' error during install of apk. I experienced a similar problem in early versions of CM7.
Also theme chooser app behaving strangely, only two available themes in there, one of which was not displayed correctly.

I´m having the same problem with the theme chooser, where it won´t display one of the themes. I have 3 themes, and one of them (androidian) displays as a black rectangle.

Everytime psyche release a new version of te CyaogenMod porting for our GT-I5500 I take a look into the zip file of the rom.. I do that 'cause I use to remove some bloat I don't use and something I don't need, like live wallpapers, quite all the CM wallpapers (which i finf horrible), File Manager (I insert RootExplorer), ADW Launcher (I get my version of ADW Launcher EX) and so on..
Usually I also use to remove 2 of the 3 defult themes of this rom, 'cause I never liked them.. They were called Androidian and Cyanbread, if I well remember..
but this time, in version 2.0 I cannot find anymore those themes, so I assume that only the default theme this time is been installed into this version..
Infact into my Theme Chooser there is only the default theme (and the 2 I installed after first use, I love LunarUI!! )and much of all I cannot notice any error on Theme Chooser!!
I think that you could consider wiping your cache and your data; if this could not help flash alla gain from start! If you don't want to loose your data (but I'm sure you have not so much data after 1 day of use, or you already backup before flash this new version) wait for a psyche reply (if he will read) or post directly into the MadTeam forum..
Anyway, for me, no error till now.

Browsing was fine but had to connect through 3G to get the app to start downloading.

Yeppa!!! That's always first thing that we could do when we come into strange issues! I also think that a bug is not a bug 'till we tried to make some wipe!!!

I had no problems downloading from the market.
A rather strange thing happened today: when the alarm came on, the screen was totally black, and i could not set the alarm off. The phone was charging, so i unplugged it, and after a while the screen came back on.

I guess it took a while for the Alarm program to load.
It happens to me with calls sometimes. I might be browsing the web, then I get a call, and I can't answer it because the screen is black. It would be good if we could answer with the physical button, but I can't find any settings to get it working.

I think that you could consider wiping your cache and your data; if this could not help flash alla gain from start! If you don't want to loose your data (but I'm sure you have not so much data after 1 day of use, or you already backup before flash this new version) wait for a psyche reply (if he will read) or post directly into the MadTeam forum..
Anyway, for me, no error till now.

brainvision, do you mean to tell me i can choose what will be installed as my system apps by taking out the apks and replacing them with whatever i want??!!
I had no idea this was possible do i have to unzip>edit>rezip or can i just replace the files with a zip explorer?
finally i can have rootexplorer as my system file manager
I´m getting a lot of screen-related bugs...
I´m gonna do a wipe, re-install, and see if it gets better.
Is the any way to backup all my data and apps, so i don´t have to download it all again?

Titanium Backup * Root is what you need here. It should come preinstalled on all android devices in my opinion.
It will allow you to backup all your existing apps and system data to your SD card so one you've reflashed your device you need only download Titanium and restore them.
- You could save a copy of the Titanium apk to your SD so you wouldn't even have to download that

sure you can, but you will indeed loose the signature/md5 of the file, but if you don't use the signature verification in CWM you won't need it.. anyway you MUST pay attention when modifying those files, 'cause they will go to replace system files into your phone, so be sure they are not corrupted (for example veryfy files with the archive manager).
Usually I use to unzip all the folder and then zip it again: but I do that 'cause I need to remove / change a lot of files (I remove all non italian/english languages, for example).. if you want to remove only the FileManager.apk you can do that directly with WinRAR: remove it and then add RootExplorer.apk (I follow the same name style)..
Just a little note: I'm not sure that all the apk you will put in will work!! For example once I tryed to do that with SamsungApps apk but it didn't start!!

Anyone else having crash issues (stops responding) with the calendar?
Particularly the day view? It seems that it hangs half the time I'm trying to use it, particularly if I try to sweep it before doing anything else.
This with 2.0 and hotfix2 applied, using Finnish language.

Yes, same thing here. If I try to change days, the applications freezes.
I am experiencing a lot of crashes and freezes. I did a full wipe before the install, but i´m still having problems. Anyone else?

I wanted to know that can i use this mod in galaxy 5503 too.
or will it brick 5503 ?. Like if use i9000 roms in i9003 it will brick it as it's totally different phone then i9000.

Trying to reproduce the issue you reported: what exactly did you do when you encountered crashes? Actually I try with browsing from day to day with the classical 1 day view of the calendar, but no crashes here!

Well, when i open the calendar in 1 day view, if i navigate to the sides using the navigation buttons, the app freezes and after a while i get an error message saying the app is not responding, and i have to force-end it.
This doesn't happens if i use the touchscreen, only if i use the navigation buttons.
Asides from that, i´m getting random crashes and freezes that didn't happen in v1.9... i´m considering a downgrade.

OK man, now I got it! It happens even for me.. i freezes and you cannot do anything else but break the process!
I'll report this issue to the MadTeam forum, if you still didn't do it by yourself..
