me too is searching for some different themes but i think that isn't possible to change it in stock rom...
You can intall the Theme Chooser Themes on the Market e use themes on your stock rom.
Is it possible to port over themes support from cm7 2.3.6 to my custom rom 2.3.6? Wouldn't I have to port over some libs and mod the frameworks and systemui.apk?

I think it's not, but I really miss some camera fetaures in AOSP-Based ROMs, and missing AOSP interface on Sony ROMs too.
