This should be in the Q&A section.
I just talked to someone at a Bell Store the other day and it said we wouldn't be getting the OTA update the AT&T people have; this means we're either going to need to get the "stock" SBF of someone inside, or hope for a leak.
there is no SBF for Bell ATRIX. Next time dont brick your phone

If you run the softbrick script in here that may help depending on how you softbricked it

I called the Moto CA CSR and he told me it's coming in a month
I wish it was true, afraid he was talking about the ATT atrix instead of Bell one
This should be in Q&A
Bring it into a bell world and see if they can reflash you to stock while your there see if you can get your hands on a copy of the sbf too

Well, he really shouldn't be messing around if he has no method of recovery. Also, I believe that people have to leak sbf files, I don't think that they would just hand them over like that.

Can anyone point me towards instructions on how to take a dump of the stock ROM from my Orange UK Atrix? I'd like to make a backup before I load a custom rom. And once I've created a dump, and how do I turn that into and SBF file?

So is there no way of doing a dump, and then using it to restore to stock if there's a problem with a one of the updated ROMS? Is there any other way to switch back?

Yeap, make us two. I tried to manage a different rom in my Sony Xperia X10 and totally screwed the phone, it doesn't even turn on yet =/
I'm looking forward to install other rom (most possibly GingerBlur) in my Atrix, I've buyed it branded, wanna de-brand it. Hate those 'Claro' stuff =D

Can´t u go with the 1.8.3?
That's the SBF from telstra right!?
I've downloaded it and want to flash it, but, not having a way back kind of freaks me out...
With my late Milestone, there were all sorts of sbf's avaible...
How do i know that the tellus sbf is more up to date them my brazillian one?
Read the guide in the dev forum. Only at&t phones can have at&t sbf's. All the other phones can share sbfs AFAIK. therefore brazil atrix cannot get 1.8.3 as its for at&t. These are the risks in modifying locked down devices

But even if he has a brazilian atrix, he can flash back to a original AT&T sbf right?
No i believe his options are the telstra and France sbf's.
Best option is to use CWM to make a nandroid backup before installing any other mods.
I'm tired of all the issues with battery and want to downgrade back to 2.2. Is it safe to do from Gingerbread which I have right now?

You have not done anything wrong thus far. Which is to say, you haven't burnt a fuse by going to 2.3.4. OTA. As of now, you're capable of reverting back to 1.8.3. without any issues.

I'm assuming you know how to flash? If so, here is the link to all available firmwares:

After reading your post again, I realize you probably don't know how to flash...
Go to our wiki (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Motorola_Atrix_4G) and get RSD Lite (search it if you don't see it)
That's the tool you'll use to flash the firmware you pick out from the first link I gave you.

Not at all, from what I understand... you've not updated with the OTA Update. In which chase you're safe from "the point of no return"
waiting for the brick in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..............
If you attempt to flash any froyo sbf that doesnt contain pudding pre-applied, and only after you've unlocked, you might as well throw your phone in the toilet.

If you read the post on Kenneth's thread then you would know that ANY Over The Air, OTA, update would result in a hard brick. If you flash Kenneths ROM, Which this guy did, then it is safe to use RSDLite.
I would recommend pointing him in the appropriate direction rather then saying "waiting for the brick" since you do display knowledge of knowing what to do.
From kenneths thread about Hard Bricks!
How can I avoid this Brick?
You can avoid bricking your device by not flashing any over-the-air updates to Android 2.3.4. Instead, try flashing the 2.3.4 zip over here. Or, flash the pure stock images from here.
So is it safe or not to downgrade ROM? Say, can I just download GingerBlur (http://briefmobile.com/gingerblur-rom-for-atrix-4g) and install it using CWM with no repricussions?
I never updated any OTA updates and right now on unlocked bootloaders and Kenn's Gingerbread
Ok, Since everyone rather comment on how not to do it but not point you in the right direction then I will give you the link to a place that is a safe alternative for you.
But first I want to ask you if you tried to flash any other ROM like "Ninja v0.4.5" by samcripp or "Alien" by kenneth? The Alien ROM has the battery fix with it so it is safe and battery life lasts awhile. When I say awhile I mean I did not charge my phone two days and dropped to 30% in a 48 hour period. There is a script by Juggernaut that you can flash to any ROM that fixes the battery spike issue.
But if you rather go backwards to FroYo then here is a link with directions to flash, a new method, Fruit cakes! it's a safe alternative and you flash it through CWM never using RSD ever again. Fruit cakes
If you have any questions I would either ask here or ask on the Fruitcake thread.
HAPPY FLASHING!!!!
A
Thanks. That worked. I'm now on Froyo but still having battery issues. Problem is that Fruitcakes does not contain radio image and I'm still on GB radio. How do I downgrade radio? I don't beleive there is CWM packages for that. If I find radio.img for Froyo can I downgrade it safely via RSD or fastboot without possibility of bricking my phone?
If you have any questions I would either ask here or ask on the Fruitcake thread.
HAPPY FLASHING!!!![/QUOTE]
Well I did some searching and I can only find two threads that are relatively close to a radio on FroYo.. Only difference between our stock ATT and these two are international/tweaked radios.
Tweaked ATT radio
French modded radio

You can always hard brick your phone when you're in RSD; loss of connection between phone & PC, power outage, anything that disrupts the process = (more or less 100% of the cases) hard brick

And for that very reason I try to not SBF my phone unless there's no other way. CWM and fastboot work perfectly fine. Besides that, my main PC is a desktop.
Loss of power = brick. That's why I only use RSD off of laptop.
I sbf'd to 2.3.5 so that I could root my phone. Now that I am rooted my phone has went back to 2.3.5 so my question is, can I still flash a rom or is there something i need to do in order for it to work???

the 2.3.5 SBF kinda doesn't make sense right now unless you want to stick with it cause you can't root it. You have to root 2.3.4 then apply the rootkeeper and then get to 2.3.5 via OTA update or flash via recovery.

guide please ?
Download the latest RSD lite.
Install the program on your Windows computer. ( xp works best for me. Sometimes get errors on win7).
Download the 2.3.6 sbf. Make sure it is the one for your carrier.
Open rsd lite.
Select the sbf file.
Start.
That's what I did. It was simple.
A google search could probably find you a better guide though.
Good luck.
As usual, this is what I have done, and I take no responsibility if it doesn't work for you.
Using rsdlite to flash an .sbf is dangerous if you flash one prior to 2.3.4 gingerbread. All others are safe to my knowledge. But using pudding is easier and faster.

Quick note: If you SBF flash a stock ROM while you're on a custom ROM, remember to wipe the data in stock recovery when you're done! :good:

And another q's, if i flash SBF of complete stock 2.3.4, will i be able to use Moto OTA update through the phone to get 2.3.6 ?

Do not use RSD lite and .sbf. do some searching and you will find that Motorola doesn't condone using RSd lite for public use. Flash the appropriate fruitcakes just like you would a rom except wipe the phone completely (especially when you are down grading. If you do use rsd lite and hard brick your phone I will have no sympathy for you as your phone will be a very expensive paper weight. Many many people have already started forum pages on why you should not use rsd lite. Just my opinion... take it or leave it as you may.

I've searched all over several different forums and this entire section and can not find a SBF file for my USCC Electrify to go back to 2.3.4 so that I can take my phone in for repair without locking it forever with the 2.3.5 SBF.
All the SBF links I've found were from the mophoforum.com and are broken links, seems like the site isn't even online anymore.
So if anyone can please help me find the USCC Electrify 2.3.4 SBF file I would be very pleased!

It isn't a contract device I brought it to USCC from a previous USCC account so I doubt they'll do that. Plus I'm not sending it in for repair I'm just taking it to a tech to help diagnose a duplicate sms messages issue.
Btw, thanks for the link! Figured that since it is for flashing the phone it wouldn't go in Q & A.

If they switch it out for an Electrify that shipped with 2.3.5, he can still unlock. My Electrify will attest to that, as it shipped with 2.3.5 as well. Team US Cellular's forum has an "electrify.zip" in their downloads that contains all you need. I don't know if this is here on XDA as well. Now if they OTA upgrade it to 2.3.5 he's indeed stuck locked, and that would be unfortunate, and if I were OP I'd raise seven hells over it. Especially since US Cellular probably doesn't have any Electrifys left to just exchange it...
