My Motorola Atrix keeps attempting to download the update every time I connect to a wifi signal and the download will finish and it will reboot the phone and the little green Android man will appear and the little file bin thingy will show, showing that it's loading the new update, then all of a sudden, there will be a triangle with an exclamation point inside the triangle and it just stays on the screen and I can't get it to like function without taking out my phones battery and then putting it back in and turning the phone on. Is there any way to fix this?
My system version is version.4.1.26.MB860.ATT.en.US
My Android version is 2.2.1
I don't know what to do about this problem. Can anyone help me?
I'm not even rooted that I know of.... All I that deals with that thing is the app called "SuperUser".
Its installing the update when its on that logo- _-

Well it freezes there.... It doesn't tell me anything... How long does it take for it to complete?
Should take 8 or so minutes maybe more

Hey guys i need some help...i am running a rooted tbolt that the screen isnt turning on....like when i start the phone it acts like its booting up but there is no htc screen or anything....i cant get into recovery cause the screen stays blank....any suggestions????
Thanks
Does the phone work, does it even boot into the OS at all?
See if ADB will recognize the device in the booting stage. If it does, try doing either:
adb reboot recovery
or
adb reboot bootloader
If you can get into either of these, your in business
the phone like "acts" like it is on but the backlight is just not coming on...like i still get what i think are texts like it will ring when called and if i swipe down i am able to answer the call....so i dont think that it is the rom that i have on it but something more hardware

Have you recently put and left any img. zip on the root of your sd card.
This can have a similar effect. If you did you can remove it using another phone or an adapter on your pc.

I did have the last zip that i used and i have removed that...after it should i just have to restart the phone after a battery pull????
If you removed that you should be able to boot it up to bootloader and restore your backup.

Hi guys.
Im posting here because, after updating through Kies on a mac, other than sometimes slowish ui/loadings, i'm experiencing a shutdown whenever my phone goes to lock mode. Its not frequent. Sometimes i lock it, and after some minutes when i click pwer to bring up the lockscreen, nothing happens, and i have to hold the power (for a long time) to turn it back on.
Some info:
Previous version: gb 2.3.6 rooted
Baseband: XXLPS
first update was throuh wifi. Failed. Sencond by mac. Success.
If you guys could help me find a fix, or need more info, ill be very gratefull/happy to provide.
Thanks in advance

You could do a factory reset, that helps many times. Type *2767*3855# in the dial pad. Backup important files first.
Thanks. Will try that.

After updating my GT-I9100 from Gingerbread to the official ICS 4.0.3 ROM I experienced random shutdowns as aforementioned. I also had the screen freeze and become unresponsive. Screen unresponsiveness only occurred the first two days, random shutdowns occurred for about a week. After a slew of additional app update notifications and subsequent updating, I no longer have the shutdown problem either. I originally upgraded through Kies on 4/20/2012 and by around 4/27/2012 I no longer have any issues. Btw, I'm on ATT in the U.S. and my phone is not rooted.
I did a factory reset and i noticed some things:
Self shutdown occurred only once.
The phone touch is considerably faster than gb.
The screen visuals are more vivid (i think thats because of my current wallpapers)
The apps load times are also faster, but the camera takes some time to load.
Tl;dr
I dont regret the hard reset but the shutdown happened once only after that.

Bad news... Shutdown twice this morning, after going into lock mode(click power button)
One thing i noticed is that he takes toooo muuucchhhh to boot when holding the power button when this hapens, so i have a theory that he actually doesnt shuts down, rather it jus wont turn on the screen. Im going to try to replicate it and send some kind of warning to one of my apps, or mail myself.

Indeed, it is not shutting down, but not waking the screen. This is known as the "sleep of death" (SoD) and has been discussed in dozens of threads already.
Usually caused by undervolting with values that are too low, but also occurs on some peoples phones when they are completely stock.
Changing kernel can sometimes help, or if you already have a custom kernel loaded, changing your voltage settings to be a bit higher on the 800mhz step.

hello everyone
i am facing a problem with my htc amaze from t mobile.
the problem is, after downloading the official ics ota update, the cellphone verifies the package and says it's good to go, so i click install now.
then, the phone restarts and shows the black screen with a phone in the middle and the green circle with an arrow in the middle, and underneath it the green progress bar with a sign of echanging file with the sd ( i guess it's unpacking the update)
at almost 1/4 of the progress, the green circle with the arrow in the middle transforms to a red triangle with an exclamation point in the middle, and the progress bar disappears.
at that point i restart my phone by removing the battery, and then it restarts in gingerbreadd as if i downloaded nothing and if i check for updates, it shows me the OTA one more time to download.
i had unlocked the bootloader and installed a superuser but i havent rooted the phone. i relocked it and did a factory reset without erasing the data from sd and the internal memory but the same problem happened again. i noticed the same problem while loading the bootloader and clicking on recovery. the same red triangle with the exclamation point appears.
does anyone have any ideas for what can be causing this problem, and more importantly what could be the solution without having to root the phone and stopping the tmob support.
note that i am using a different carrier since i am currently outside the USA.
Thank you all for your help

+1, lol.
Good afternoon all...
I bought this for my wife and she loves it.. Thanks for all the information on the forums.
Unfortunately, she is having a problem and as this is the smartest group of people I know, I thought I would ask here about the issue she is having.
It seems that the Gear Fit is in an infinite reboot loop. I've tried holding the power button to turn it off, but nothing I can do has caused it to break its reboot loop. I'm hoping the people here that are smarter than myself can assist before I have to return the device and start over. I'm afraid I may have to do that anyway, but nothing ventured, nothing gained, correct?
Have a great day all!

won't stop
Hi All,
The rebooting loop won't stop for me. I am able to follow the attachment - 5 clicks of button when it shows "rebooting" and then select download. then it's just stuck in downloading. if I long press on button it will shut down but sometimes it comes back on by itself, or stay off. I fully charged it, left it off for a long while and try to start again, just goes back to rebooting loop.
The download option doesn't work for me either, it always goes back to the boot loop. Did anyone find another solution yet?
Flash a firmware upgrade with odin.

Mine is stuck in a reboot loop now. I have the latest firmware. None of the selected solutions worked for me.

The firmware flash with Odin worked for me.
I have had my gear fit for 2 days amd love it.. BUT here i am on day 3 and it keeps rebooting for no reason. Not a loop just every so often it will just reboot. As the day goes on it seems to be doing it more and more.. is it defective? Anyway to fix it without flashing it. I dont think flashing is a good idea what am i going to have to reflash it every other day. .
Fit Reboot
I've had my fit for about a month and yesterday it started rebooting, and was stuck in a reboot loop.
Here's what worked for me.
Both my wife and I have a fit, so I changed the name of mine
1. I powered the fit off, went into the GearFit Manager app on my phone and change the name back to it's default name.
2. Powered the fit on, it took a couple of times, but it came up with a screen telling me to install the GearFit Manager app on my mobile device. It's already installed.
3. From the GreatFit app on my phone I clicked on "Paired Device", then clicked on "Connect"
4. My Fit connected to my phone and stopped rebooting
Once the Fit was connected it stopped rebooting and I found I had to setup a few thing again, wallpaper, clock, and a few others.
For my situation it looks like renaming the device back to default was to key. Hope this helps
Go Fit
I can't get my Fit to enter download mode. The scene to put it in download mode appears, but no matter which option I highlight, the Fit returns to the bootloop. Help?

I tried it and it worked, finally. I had to try about 6 times. Thanks for the post!
i get the gear fit into download mode but the com port in odin wont recognize the gear
I'm kind of stuck and could use your help. It's much appreciated. I have an unlocked C6833 I've been using as a "mini tablet" (no SIM card/no mods/in the US). I received notification yesterday that there was an up date (I'm guessing the latest) so I downloaded it. I thought everything was going fine until I checked this morning and nothing---
Computer can't access phone when connected.
I can't access anything on the phone. The pic attached is the only thing that shows when I press the power button and then it turns off and the green dot starts to flash again.
Attached is a pic of whats going on.

What it says on the first screen? I can't read it. Can't you keep pressing next?
I think the error message said initialbootsetup not responding or something to that affect. I couldn't really do anything with the phone.
It turns out that the Sony servers were overloaded or had some glitch because of the release and a lot of people trying to upgrade were stopped in their tracks.
I should've known.....never had a problem like this w/ any other phone (first Sony). Seems like they've always had some sort of problem w/ their servers and whatnot. Oh well live and learn......
It's all good now. I was able to upgrade via usb/PCC the next morning.
