The auto-brightness on the thunderbolt doesn't work very well as it is almost always too bright. when i'm in a super dark room it seems to still be running at 50% brightness, which is far to high.
CM has a way to tweak the levels of auto-brightness by way of adjusting what screen brightness setting is assigned to a certain level of the light sensor.
so it seems clear that there is a way to bake this into custom roms.
Can this be put into a .zip file so that we can just update our current rom instead of flashing a custom one?
I've gathered some information that this should be in liblights (or something similar) and possibly in the kernel as well.
If anyone is willing to help me bake a custom rom that is a unique rom i'd much appreciate it, but i think the community would benefit as a whole if we found a solution for everyone.
I agree with you 100%, the auto brightness on this phone is wack. Completely dark room in the middle of night and the phone's screen is so bright it hurts my eyes.

Yeah it WILL NOT dim down to min in a completely dark room. I'm dying for CM so I can fix this. I use the power widget in the notification dropdown thanks to the Das BAMF ROM I'm using to dim to min at night sometimes.
I tweaked the auto brightness levels to be lower in my rom if you wanna check it out.
Very nice thank you for the post

Without having to flash a whole theme.. anyway to just get battery percentage mod on CM7?
I use "battery notifier" its only 55kb in size and requires no permissions, it gives u a little battery icon in notifications and u have the option to place the percent on that little icon I dont think you will be able to mod the actual icon or do much to to the status bar without a flash

Yeah actually i have the same thing, but i hate wasting a spot in the notification bar when there's already a battery gauge available.

Doesn't seem like cm7 is supported for any of those. But I found a mod that works from the general android theme section.

Second theme down
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945548
I already removed the 'theme manager' and all that business. There really isn't any flashable zip like the bar battery floating around? I have it set to always show on my lock screen, but locking and unlocking to see my battery percentage is getting old.... :-/
I figured it would be included in cmparts, but it wasn't. Was there a reason for that?

Really? That's very interesting...it's such a simple improvement. Who wouldn't want to know their battery percentage over just a shaded battery icon? It's practically useless. I can't tell the difference between 50 percent and 30 percent...it looks the same! lol

I'm with you there. I'm not much of a 'theme' guy. If I want something changed, I'll change it..but I'm not one to change everything just so I can have the battery percentage. I had it on the stock mysense rom, so I'll just wait for it to show up in cm7. ....sigh.....one can only hope....
I'm using bali v 1.8.8 and I don't know how to adjust the voodoo color settings, I downloaded the voodoo control app but nothing about adjusting color is there also I don't know whether to force bali to use voltage control or setCPU .... btw I'm on project v .... srry my thread is long

Hmm that's a bummer and kinda makes me wonder why so many people use it
The prime reason people use Bali is for the excellent battery !!
all kernels have voodoo colour dont they
people say by default it adds more colour and sharpness to the screen i think but i havent really noticed a difference

It really is only noticeable at 100% brightness, but the difference is incredible when you do notice it.

If you want a quick way to tell the difference between stock and voodoo color, open up gmail. The sharpness artifacts are glaring on stock, and not present with voodoo color. HUGE difference. Voodoo color is a big improvement.

Can you do key mapping?
I was going to ask this after Sense 4 was stable but since the menu button is slowly losing popularity (much as I love it) So can the menu button be bound with the Recent apps menu and a long press of the menu to do the function of the menu button?

We need source for most of what you guys want, source we don't have, because things like that require control from the kernel level.
Thank you kindly,
I guess all that remains is luck.

Hopefully you guys get source soon, would be a waste to bring down such a great device, then with not many hardcore devs, not much workarounds, sportstar can't manage it all himself, though I have to admit he's working hard to make it all work.

My I9100's SAMOLED+ screen has a yellowish color temperature. The lcd is not callibrated properly. The whites look yellow when I compare it with any other device. On gingerbread I'm able to modify mdnie files and change color temp...(but will this cause burn-in or more tint???) And on ICS and JB the mdnie files are either missing or not making a difference.
Q1: Is there any way I can change the color temp. and reduce the yellowness in iCS or JB? (JB on priority) (preferably no custom kernels, as my phone has SoD probs with those. ..)
Q2: In case I replace the LCD in the future... will the color temp be normal or still yellowish?
The greys look quite green in low brightness...
Please help me!

I've recently became obsessed with changing the Lockring after I had seen it done on other devices so I decided I was going to figure out how to create a custom lockscreen and this is the result.
Just flash zip through recovery and tada.
Now if my inexperience here in posting shines brighter than my good intention my apologies I never until recently had done anything in the way of sharing mods here just my usually useless opinions but hope you enjoy either way

That's cool. So basically since it's a flash-able zip the only way to revert in case I don't like it it to nandroid restore?
Edit: lol nvm I see you posted a stock version too. Thanks can't wait to try it out. Have you looked into changing the rings or using different colors? What's the chances we could request certain lock screen features with this mod also?

Yeah I plan on creating more with different themes also I just started dabbling with this. I didn't know if anyone had an interest to change the lockring so I figured I would test the waters with this one.
Sent from my ADR6410LVW
Yeah I'd definitely like to see what you come up with. I thought there was already a thread on a different forum where people had replacement rings. But I'd also like to be able to add the battery percentage to the lockscreen. I had that option on cm with my Inc 2 and would love to have it back. I've tried other lock screen replacements but the stock one works best for me.
