New V10E update for the Indian Optimus One - Optimus One, P500, V General

My v10d Firmware Optimus One just got a new v10E firmware update notification today. Has anyone updated their phones to this version? Are there any new features in this update?

It's not new, but evidently for some regions it is. It's merely the 2.2.2 update which fixes some bugs (security related).

Actually we got our Android 2.2.2 update with firmware v10d update last month. So this is obviously something different. Anyone tried it yet?

Havent tried it yet...

Some people still running stock
Just kidding No offense.

Custom roms require that you have time learn how to install them and also void the guarantee. Not all people have the time or skills or want to put their phone at risk. In fact, most regular phone users do not.

it could be ginger bread, early surprise!

Yup, because they like to root their devices. It seems 2.2.X is not happily rootable.

The problem that i see with using ROMS is that they come with many bugs. Especially CM7 comes with buggy GPS. I might start using custom ROMS when LG stops upgrading Android for us but up till then, Happy with stocks.
Now, has anyone tried the new update?

I am on a very slow net connection not to mention constant disconnection. It will take me forever to download the update.

did a big big big mistake by updating it....will downgrade it in a day or two

Why? Could you post the firmware info after the update?

why do you call it a mistake? is the firmware bad?

it laggy & slow,
if u use Launcher pro or SE Arc launcher it became hell slow , & now it take even more time 2 boot the devices,
few improvement is opening sms & coanct is faster than before ,
main thing it lag only in stock launcher is good,

is the touch screen bug still there? what about sd card unmounts?

my battery is draining faster with the new update!! goes only 7-8 hrs... earlier it used to go 14-15 hrs.... and the sad thing is it still draining after i downgraded to 2.2..
plz help...

After giving us a very good phone, LG is f**king things up. On my stock rom 2.2, I had 48.5 neocore.
Then LG updated to 2.2.1. Neocore dropped to 38.
Then LG updated to 2.2.2. Neocore. Dropped to 32.
You know what's happening? Neocore has limits of about 60. And we already touched 60 in cm7 by mik and in Andy's gb also.
Their highest end phone optimus 2x, coming for triple the price, has, I guess almost this much Neocore only. So, they don't want to offend the owners and prospects of their high end phones. So, I think, they are systematically downgrading O1 instead of upgrading.
Lets see what happens with official gingerbread.
I wish I am proved wrong.

Good thing I am still on v10b. The original stock that came with it. Never upgraded, never will till Gingerbread comes out.
And I may be wrong but not even the developers here have been able to get a permanent solution for phone reboots and / or SD card unmounts have they?
Also gingerbread upgrade won't be marked as E after D. It will be marked with v11 or such probably as it is a huge upgrade and V10b/c/d/e just seem minor updates as they are.

if u want something different on ur device then just flash this rom n still i think something upgrade for that rom like Gingerbread theme but still its awesome without any bugsjust try

[Q] New Vibrant slow

Hello,
I'm new to these forums and android (with my new samsung vibrant)
I've only been using it for 2 weeks and I've only installed a few apps...safe and ones that shouldn't slow my phone down (juicedefender is the main one thats running mostly).
However, after the 1st 2 days or so, my phone started getting really laggy...I was hoping for froyo but it doesn't seem like its coming anytime soon...
What are my options at this point?
I've heard lagfix (idk which one to use) but I hear it could also cause problems?
ex: not being able to OTA update or update smoothly to an android update? or cause problems with apps?
Also, is it possible to UNDO the lag fix completely so that my phone were as if I never applied the lag fix or rooted it?
Thanks so much! I just want to get rid of this lag without having any issues arise regarding the phone / future updates!
Best bet I think, especially if your a newb like me, just go into the market and download ryanza oclf (one click lag fix). It sped my phone up noticeably, not even mentioning the outstanding quadrant scores I get now. Its a pretty simple process, just make sure you can enter recovery mode manually after rooting so you can apply packages/update.zip. And the app has the option to undo everything as well.

Uninstall Juice Defender, doesn't do anything, just keep Wifi off yourself when not in range.

I'd flash this. I've had good luck with the KingKlick Kernel version. Very fast.

If an update if pushed over the air, it will be here waiting for you to flash it probably 48 hours or so before it is pushed. If not it will be here within the hour, and you can flash at your leisure. We have very good developers on the Vibrant. Eugene373, Sombionix, JustAnotherCrowd, KingKlick, WesGarner, Koush (who seems to be helping with CM6 on Vibrant).

New Update for O1

There was a new software version 2.2.2
Download here:

Does anyone have more information.
move faster?
bugs have been fixed?
Sorry for my bad English.
Damn instead of wasting time of bringing more Froyo variants they should focus on official Gingerbread
agree with Zerobarat1
AFAIK 2.2.2 fixes the bug where text messages may get sent to the wrong contact.

Lol THAT IS ALL? I know that this 2.2.2 came to nexus one at the beginning of february .... but ffs that's all it actually brings?
I read on a blog that they say is moving much better and it has not lagged.
I Understand that the root does not work with version 2.2.2
Has anyone tried this version we can offer more details
At least we now that lg hasn't forgotten us yet after releasing optimus black, 2x, and 3D. Just my two cents.

AFAIC, if ever that's a fix for the SMS bug, that's important, since this is a phone and it was built to send and receive calls and SMS.
i've tried it and it seems very similar to a 2.2.1 but linpack scores are a little better around 7630
with standard cpu frequency
Did you check to see if they changed any touchscreen settings , like fixed cpu bug , or inversion bug?

sorry I have cooked it with kernel fix by sippolo
edit: i've tried stock 2.2.2 and there is bug of touchscreen yet
its able to root using z4root or other tools?
No , you can cook it . Or even more simple just flash Paolo's LOL 1.4 ROM which sports the new update.
Romanian/Euro version? Where can I find it?
Hey guys.
I just updated to V10Q 2.2.2 but once it starts up it just gets stuck on the android logo and loops.
Stock rom was V10a South Africa.
Any ideas?
I was using V10e without any problems but the Indian bloatware was really dam annoying so im trying to find another 2.2.2 update that doesnt have bloatware and can be rooted.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Yeah. i did get the notification. Anyone has a changelog and what this brings to the table?
Its most prolly 2.2.2 i guess. But unless it brings some drastic improvements i'll skip. The lag fix kernel is working nicely for me. I dont have any other problems so i guess i'll stick to 2.2 for now.
Yes it has updated to 2.2.2. I did update it and my phone has become very slow. Apps are taking too much time load specially d browser. As of now it won't recommend anyone to upgrade.

I have the same question, did z4root work on this new firmware? I doubt it!
No, it doesn't. So be careful installing it.
Problem updating the phone
I just bought the phone a couple of days back. I wanted to update the phone s/w, from currently v10c, to v 10d. But every time I try and after accepting all the terms and conditions, midway through the process I get a message that the phone don't support S/W update. I have installed all the necessary driver. The programs recognises my phone. It even tells me that there is S/W update available for my phone. What could be the problem? Am I missing any setting on the phone that is restricting it from updating? Help me out please.
Is 2.2.2 faster than 2.2.1? 2.2.1 was way slower than 2.2, I downgraded, then rooted
For all who dread the upgrade on their rooted phones, gingerbreak 1.2 wirks like a charm. Phone is rooted in a manner similar to z4root. Happy rooting!!!

[Q] Unlock bootloader now or wait till offical release?

I am currently perfectly fine with my deivce right now. Only thing i want is google voice video chat which is in 2.3.4 update i believe and hdmi mirroring which should be possible now that the bootloader is unlocked.
Anyone know around what date the officak release should be? It should soon right?
No word on official release... people think it's in the next few weeks but it's just speculation given the quality of the builds seen so far.
Personally, I'd say wait. The 2.34 version everyone is flashing right now is more for play than use at the moment. Wait at least until some more complete/stable roms have been built or the various issues people have been having with the leaked version have been fixed.
I agree with mysticdrew. I have decided to wait for a week or two till we get the official update to 2.3.4. I will unlock only once CM is available for atrix.

+1. I have no problem waiting a month or more for an official 2.3 update .
In kenneth's unlock guide there's 24 steps to unlock. With the official 2.3.4 you start at step 13, which is where the steps are easier/safer.
I also am waiting on something more stable. But I'm still refreshing the forums every few hours and getting my reading in! Best advise I can give if you are unsure is read read read before you attempt.
I unlocked mine and it was relatively simple to do. The only problem I had was the /data wipe.

Are you for serious? I mean its a developer community, and the gingerbread rom out there is not really a test Rom, its Motorola release leak. I think its worth installing it. And its very simple! And totally safe.

yes I'm serious. The leaked build is not specifically for US AT&T
The leaked build from Hong Kong / Taiwan was probably not built for a device that is exactly like ours. Test phones can have different hardware. Don't expect everything to work, it's super-duper beta and since we've all only been unlocked 24hrs no one really knows how usable it is! Flash at your own risk... (PS you can 'Skip' Motoblur just by hitting 'Menu' during setup. It won't connect anyway...)

Why mess with all of this when within a month or so we can get a fully supported OTA update? The current formal Atrix build is just fine. Unless you're a dev trying to build ROMs or something, I don't see a huge benefit other than just saying you have the latest and greatest. There's multiple posts in the Atrix section with "I applied 2.3.4 and X does not work properly", not worth it IMO when there is no significant benefit.

The unlock is relatively simple yes, but the 2.34 leak isn't issue less for sure - there are resolution issues, home button issues, data speed issues, network issues, lots of small issues people have been having (all probably fixable for sure, but definitely a n00bie would be overwhelmed).
point of having unlocked bootloader is to have custom and 3rd party solutions.
what point is it to wait for the official release when you can still enjoy the hot cake now and switch to official release when it is out?
in that case you do not need the unlocked bootloader in the 1st place.

True, access to custom and 3rd party solutions, but that has no bearing on the decision to wait until there's a stable solution unofficial or official. There's a stability threshold everyone has and for some obviously it's met and for others it hasn't.
I'm going to wait for there to be a stable rom, or at least for the official gingerbread release.

I agree. I see no problem with unlocking now, but since there isn't much to do with it right now I just won't do it. I'm not interested in some buggy Taiwan or whatever build of the GB update...
Maybe I'm missing something, but is there anything else we can do with the unlocked phone RIGHT NOW?
Not to be a **** but the whole point of XDA is to try things before they are meant to be tried and trying things that shouldnt be tried. Im running 2.3.4 and it is completely stable, no freezes or reboots. Only thing that does not work is motoBlur and Fingerprint reader. This build is completely safe if you read the directions and then read them again.
IMO no. You can apply barely tested stuff, shake your fist in anger when multiple core functions break, and then flash back to stock w/ root . If you're a dev, then yes all of this 2.3.4/unlock stuff is like Christmas right now.
Like I said, many people have tried 2.3.4 and its STABLE.
You can also use cwm recovery now without having to plug your AC charger in. For me, that in itself is worth unlocking the bootloader over.

All this just to get a HKTW 2.3.4 a few weeks in advance??
the point of XDA is NOT for a general user to try out stuff before devs have had a chance to try it out for less than 24 hrs.

This doesn't assure people it's stable, and if it were perfectly stable, there wouldn't be multiple threads about fixing some of the issues from flashing this. It's a beta, and not even for the US phones. Don't be so naive as to think you know everything about this build, and also don't be so pigheaded as to think you know better than the devs who give us this stuff, and posted the aforementioned warning. Anything which is alpha or beta is not stable, or it would be live and in all our phones right now from Moto/AT&T. If people don't want to flash it, that's up to them!

[Q] Should I update to correct G3's lag?

My g3 has some serious lag lately and from what I understand LG released an update that specificly corrects it. I'm not rooted or Bumped yet (waiting for stable ROM). Should I get the update, or will that screw up my chances of rooting and bumping?

I haven't received notification of update from Verizon or anything. I just read this a couple of days ago and figured eventually (in a year or so) Verizon would get it and send it out. Here's one of the places that talks about it:

Thanks I'm gonna check that out. My last phone was a gnex and i ran Shiny ROM on it. Was very stable (minor issues) till the last 4.4.4 update when I switched to the G3. Pretty much stock android and that's what I'm looking for for the G3. Thanks again.
Jasmine ROM ftw !!!!
Use a different Launcher if you have the stock one. Nova is pretty good. Use something other than the LG keyboard, and enable developer options and set your animation scales at .5x (window animation, transition animation, and animation duration).
If you have any intention of ever using custom ROM's, then I think it best to stay far, far away from, OTA "updates". They just update the degree of control placed over the use of the phone.
Jasmine is pretty stable and works quite well.
