Well as per my view i don't think that 2.3 version will work on our mini's ..........Becoz(I HATE TO SAY THAT) its H/W requirements are far more larger than mini.

Nonsense! we just need to be able to put custom kernels, but we can't! (bootloader is in the way) so no froyo, no gingerbread, no ports till we eliminate that SE's moral breaker... 2.3 may go a bit slower, but if an htc magic can actually use froyo, we can use 4 or 5s if they ever appear (note the exaggeration, please)

stock 2.3 would run fine on the x10 mini (less apps like flash of course). SE just can't see any benefit in providing the update. As for the Kernel, developers on the big x10 have already proven that 2.2/2.3 will operate on 2.6.29.

2.2 can work. 2.3 only as a demo.

but what is the use of 2.2, 2.3 when newer kernels work better,,, and we can't put new one w/o loader...

Sure, they work better but also newer system base can work better.
(even a 2.1 pure vanila android would work better than SE version. Remember: Less crapware = more speed)
In mini pro forum, Mikevhl is porting free X10 rom from zdzihu to mini pro and is willing to port it to mini too.

is it working on e10i???????
The X10 Bootloader have been bypassed.
They can flash custom kernel with the xReecovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12578251&postcount=848
So I have some questions :
Is the mini pro bootloader can be cracked with the same method ?
Is there a dev working on that (for mini pro) ?
Thanks

hello guys i would like to ask what are the differencies between a x10 mini rom and a x10 mini pro? there are featuring the same wifi chipset, the same cpu, the same resolution... I think the two different things are the hardware keyboard which x10 mini pro has and the touchscreen!!! so i was thinking of porting slades minicm rom which is for x10 mini pro to our mini... what i should change to make it work for our mini???
Just use nobodyAtall his rom it is as good as slade his rom

You need 2 use hardware resources from mini, and i think resize everyting to QVGA, for making everything fit the screen

well on roms like AOSP and CM you only have to set the density from 160 to 120 android will resize it for you but roms like liquid sense MIUI and that roms you have to resize everything

Depends on ROM, but you can use some existent ramdisk, for example if you wanna port CyaNoComb (that's for mini pro) to mini, you can use MiniCM ramdisk, and will work (but of course you will lose improvements/tweaks)

I'm trying to port FroyoBread (x8 rom) to x10 mini... when I replace the ramdisk it's stuck at the SE boot logo. If I don't replace it it boots and shows some distorted image and then reboots.

FroyoBread it's already ported, MiniCM for mini pro v6.01, it's a port from it, you can port it easier from X10 mini pro, really easier.
Hi guys,
I am a nooby so please be patient!
What are the differences between the same ROM for X10 Mini and X10 MiniPro?
Can it be possible to install a X10 Mini ROM and have a updated-script.zip just to activate keyboard and stuff like that into a MiniPro?
Thanks
Well, I try using the last CM7Mini 2.0.2 and it works fine, the only problem I found is:
- the touchscreen do not work: I already know that X10 Mini and X8 have the same touchscreen, and X10 MiniPro a different one
- the keyboard do not work: probably is only because in build.prop it is not defined a keyboard...
So, anyway to have a script to be installed via Recovery to have these 2 working after isnatlling a Mini Rom into a MiniPro?
Thanks

Whole usr folder, egl and hw folders inside libs, hardwarelegacy.so, and the other hardware.so, whole bin folder, and I think that's all different?, may be i miss something, anyway, which rom do you want?
EDIT: Just see that you like andread, well, this rom it's based on miniCM7, so it's the same if you use slade CM7, which it's compiled to mini pro, so should be better

Hi D4,
Thanks for the reply!
Well I try the last MiniCM7 v2.0.2 from nAa, and want to try [ROM] X8 | HACKDROID ROMS [1-June-11] from Racht and Gingerbread 2.3.4 CM7.1.0 RC0 J009 development from Jerpelea!!!
Both seems to be more 'advanced' ROMs than the one for Mini and MiniPro.
It would be awesome if using a update.zip (if possible) we can flash a X10 mini or X8 image and with the update be possible to work in our X10 MiniPro!
Hey everybody,
I just talked to Achotjan about if he could make hes rom Semc Debrand Engine for Xperia Ray and I did get the answer that hes phone that he did use for developing is broken and he need a new one. He told me that he may port jellybean directly from the new Xperia devices and also that this is the best way to get a unofficial update for our phones.
This is the actual pm I did receive from him:
Hi the problem is that its hard to developpe even for xperia Arc , i have a Arc but its damaged no gsm and sdcard slot not working thats why the developement is lowed down , now i am focusing more on 2010 line of xperia to finish the GB version it will be soon final and will creat the SemcDebrandEngine website , uploading now all my work on ul.to to have somme mony to be able to buy a new xperia 2011 line device
if xperia ray comunity are able then you could creat a thread in general forum for donation to help me to buy a device, if i have the device i will gladly devloppe on it , and it wil not take long, you could see 2010 line is too old but i am still working on them to bring latest update before leave
2011 line will not have any other sony firmware update so you are right best alternative is SDE, cause even if new JB firmware will be on 2013 xperia line i can creat the rom and update the firmware of the phone
cheers

Should we start a donation to help him get his phone repaired so we can get a new developer that will help us get really good roms? I think so, but what do you users think about this?
I don't want to be rude mate but I think there is no point of having him working him on ray because it is still an unofficial port so its like pac and cm10 but slightly or even no difference..... Well you asked for an opinion and that's mine.... Sorry and thanx

But have you heard about debrand engine? Its a rom with fully functioning UXP from Xperia S and it may be updated to Jellybean.
He also said that he may port the official update for other phones to Xperia Ray
And btw, we dont have FXP anymore so we need new devs, and he is a recognized developer, he have made roms for almost all 2010-2011 xperias.

Oh surprised that you did all these things for X8. Flashing it to my X8. By the way did you plan building stock replacement rom for Xperia 2011 range as you did for X10? I think everyone who dont need cm stuff would love it, because it would be an exact unofficial sony update. Respect and thanks for everything you did for X8, ChongWiZ. Hope your Arc will be fixed soon.

im in i think he sould incorperare cm10.1 as were not geting support for that. the sgs1 has a working asop android 4.2 already the same spec as ray so what was fxp on about needing 1gb of ram for it.
i have 2 rays but the back light has gone on 1 but i would gladly send and donate it if its cheap enough to fix.
and this would support the MDPI range for xperia's 2011 too ?

the problem heare is not that its impossible, the idea that xperia x8 could have SemcDebrandEngine and based on xperia 2012 line that was "impossible" but we know that everithink is possible it just need time and work, but FXP couldnt take too much time on that device cause supporting too many devices, the problem is that he havent the time for that
but if i start to work on ray then it will not be on cm10.1 or cm10, but CM9
why ? : cause we have only a ICS sony firmware
but when 4.1 firmware will be out, then CM10 SDE will be released
and when 4.2 firmware will be released cm10.1 SDE will be released too
