I first browse to megatron thread
then in that thread it suggest to look into void
so I start reading about void there I learn a bit about prime and devoid.
What I am getting is that void or devoid is not for the faint of heart ?
so I should stick with megatron then right?
I would really like basic stuff, app store, good battery life and browsing with opera mini

I think that void is the best ROM out there right now for the P500 and P509. The flexibility of being able to install the modules that you want is a great feature. If you can root your device and install a custom recovery and flash a ROM, then you can certainly handle the configuration necessary for void.
I wouldn't recommend devoid for anyone who isn't seriously skilled with Android. It is extremely stripped down (which is nice and all, but getting the google apps installed can be tricky).
I 2nd the void recommendation . Really good stuff and customizable .
Go for void.
I haven't tried the other ROMs out here... because once you install void, there's no need to replace it.

Until recently I used Megatron, and I was very pleased in combination with Kernel with minimized touchscreen bug (mik_os version).
Go for void #delta. I m using it for quite sometime. Its good.

I can tolerate freeze maybe once a month instead of totaly stable rom but slower and less customization..

CyanogenMod is one of the most popular ROMs for Android. That project doesn't officially support the optimus one, but the developer Mik_os on here is working on porting their work to our phone. It is still in the very early stages and has some bugs, but it is a very exciting development in Optimus One ROMs. If you are new to custom ROMs then I wouldn't try that one first since it is still under active development.

I disagree. He's actually got it working pretty smooth now. Hardest part was probably formatting /system through adb but with a little reading it can be learned (adb is easier to get installed in Ubuntu IMO.)
But the advantages to the CM7 rom are many. It uses the new 2.3 platform which I feel has been pretty fast so far. The new gingerbread keyboard is truly amazing. CM7 has added more settings and features to the phone which allow for more customization (ie. music controls while locked, different unlock widget styles etc.)
So far I'm loving the CM7 port on my Optimus T. My only complaint was the bad audio quality but Mik fixed that last night by fixing libaudio.
as the guys have already said,it's a port of CyanogenMod 7.
i suggest to follow the develop of this rom..it will not take too time before it will become completely stable and fully usable (i'm actually using it for daily use).
but if you're in the urgency of change the stock rom ( ) go for void.
read carefully the instructions,choose the modules that are right for your use and flash it!
it's stable and fast.

I suggest you to go for megatron. it is optimized for performance. and the installation is pretty simple except the installation of custom recovery thing. i installed it couple of days back and i am happy with the results. no jerks or lags in phone. if you are new to flashing then there is an awesome tutorial out there on YouTube.
I would say go with milk's CM7. It's so far the best rom I've seen. Megatron is nice, but not very stable (app force closes and random reboots etc), and the developer doesn't support it anymore, so you'll be stuck with that same version.

I use mostly Void Echo ROM. After flashing this rom you will get a few apps only (this is what a i like very much). You cand install other apss / gapss only if you want to. There are addons and themes can be installed. More detailes here
I'm using Megatron right now, and want to change to either Void or CM7.
I see many people recommending CM7 right now, and I really want to switch to it, but I've heard that a few things aren't working correctly, like the headset button. Is this true?
Stock Rom with root and miks OC kernel here.
void echo was very unstable on my phone, dont ask me why...
using LOL right now, fast and stable...
but when mik_os managed to fix the manual network search, ill change to cm7... tried alpha 3 i think and it seems to work faster then 2.2...
so, if you dont want/need to choose your network manually, flash mik_os cm7...
otherwise i recommend LOL^^ (i like this name XD)

If you'd bother to read the first page of void's thread, you'd find the answers yourself. But since you consider yourself a newb, here's my insight on void (which I used for a few months now).
Customizable, in void's case, means that you can enable/disable certain features, whereas in other custom ROMs you usually get what the developer chose and that's it. So, in void you can:
- enable / disable the CPU overclock
- enable / disable the hardware acceleration
- enable / disable stagefright
- enable / disable gingerbread theme
- enable / disable blink module (the physical keys will blink if you receive a SMS, miss a call etc.)
- enable darktremor's a2sd - if you choose to, it becomes permanent
- add gapps (google aplications)
- add tapps (tweaking applications)
- add sapps (system applications - the LG custom apps, keyboard, launcher etc.)
Most of the "customization" is done by creating (to enable) or deleting / renaming (to disable) some folders on your sdcard and rebooting. As I wrote, not all of them are reversible.
Void, by definition, is stripped of most of the bloatware. If you need it, adding gapps and sapps will (almost) bring you back to the original LG flavor, but with a rooted, overclockable and more responsive phone.

I looked all over, and is the stuff in here (the ROMs, Kernels, etc) considered to be for the Optimus S,T,V etc line?
I'm running an Xionia Recovery, so I'd like to try some different ROMs, but I dont see a forum for Optimus LS670 (or Optimus S, T, V etc).

Decided to update my gf LG P509 (tmobile).
I rooted it yesterday (gingerbreak)
I downloaded and installed Rom Manager and wanted to install clockwork mod recovery from Marketplace. It gives me several choices to choose from for phone. LG Optimus One and LG Optimus One (old BB). Not sure which one to choose (dont wanna screw it up)
I have not yet decided on which ROM to choose. (rom nightlyFourE or cyanogen 7.2.0 nightly) any suggestions?
Do I still need to install Gapps.zip after initial rom install or is it included in the roms?
current ( android 2.2.2- kernel 2.6.32.9 - build frg83g - )

I'm not sure but I read somewhere that you should the Old BB Option for the O1.
Cyanogenmod is highly recommended.
You still have to install Gapps after flashing the custom rom since Google asked Cyanogenmod to remove Gapps from their roms.

If I'm not wrong, old BB is 5.0.2.0 and new BB is 5.0.2.7, whic is very buggy, so choose old BB

I have tested all (Yes I mean it) the ROMs from XDA, and found only a few stable ones. Hereby I will be listing those ROMs (Stable ones of Gingerbread and ICS only) with bugs if any. All the noobs will be able to find the most stable ROMs in the first few posts over here, as the posts are constantly updated.

You shouldn't write "This is the best GB ROM, this is the best ICS ROM".
Give people the best options so they can choose for themselves.
Putting old and outdated ROMs in the list, like Void Forever and Mik's CM7 is not going to help in anyway the newcomers.
Likelihood of the different roms is entirely dependent on the users. Some like cm7, some like cm9, some like oxygen. It depends on what a particular user need. A user cannot satisfy unless he has tried all the roms posted in this section.
Current Oxygen ROM has still problems reconnecting data when switching from 3G to 2G so I won't write "no bugs at all"

mik's cm7 rom is the best rom for someone who has the old baseband and doesnt want to risk bricking their phone with kdz or lgdmp
so it still is useful

Do not discount the stock ROMs...I have V20i (graciously uploaded in the forums by yuripg1 as a zip) and have ZERO complains.
I would actually recommend it to any newbie that is looking for stability and does not need too many bells and whistles (other than OC and some tweaks).

Wanna kick me out?
In the end, I value stability over features. I think a good kernel is what most people ever need.
I believe you that modded ROMs are "better" (define the notion) but if I get crashes in the middle of a call I'll reconsider using that ROM/kernel.
I'm not conservative, I just hate to wake up in the morning and see my phone has crashed (happened twice while I was testing franco#4) and I missed calls.
No one has the right to decide which ROM is the best...
U might like something i wont...
Also, such rankings and segmentations can discourage a developer...
Each developer works hard to provide us the best, its upto ourselves to decide whats best...

Lewa is a really good ROM. I find it stable enough for day to day use.

I thing this thread should be deleted, or changed as "stable ROMs in my opinion". Some of those ROMs still have issues, which can be consider as major ones for the people who need the features not working properly.
why you guys don't make a poll? we are really interested in finding a stable custom ROM for a daily use. for example now i use NightlyFourE and i'm pretty disappointed because that SD auto-scanning for media content doesn't work! and it's killing me inside because i cannot listen music or watch movies. i've tried to fix the problem(like rebooting, reflashing the ROM) but nothing worked. now, i have to find another ROM much stable and with less bugs. cheers!
Try Oxygen, #void forever or Bytecode's OpenOptimus.
Oxygen has a data bug, I know, but otherwise is a great ROM.

problem solved! apparently there was something inside SD card. some kind of virus or i don't know. Rom is absolutely fine now i'm upgrading at 4.6(NightlyFourE) cheers!

Hello, tomorrow I will receive my new LG G2 D802.
After a long time of being iOS user ,I want to get back to the Android.
As there are many treads of info and lot of then are out of date.
My question is - what is the best ROM for this moment to LG G2.
I want good battery performance, good camera with manual settings specially manual autofocus during video recording.
So give me your favorite ROM, and why you use it ?
It would be great if someone give me info about rooting and other usefull mods?

Cloudyg3 best choice for me.its a nice"upgrade" all around of the stock many more features that is very useful and missing in stock.the new design icons..good battery and xcam camera build in and stable..try it its my daily driver for a long time
Don`t get me wrong but this question depends on peoples choices...but i will tell you my opinion:
-if you like slim and pure android experiance with good tweaks i would suggest you latest Ressurection Remix with a slim gapps.(dont expect stock quality camera performance)
-if you want to get stock and rock solid performance with a really good quality camera i would suggest you cloudy g2 2.2 with stock kernel. ( for me only problem with cloudy is too many bloats in it but you can delete them bloats with root explorer and you will be good to go...)
-lately i am testing Miui v6 on g2.its simply amazing rom with really good interface and slick performance. it has all capabilities of stock experiance with a better designed ui,stock camera and tons of theming options.its been few days since its rolled out but it is very stable for daily use.but dont forget it is still in early developement stage.you can find some little bugs.
pure android wont make you %100 happy with its camera performance. i would suggest you to try cloudy g2 2.2. (but you should give miui v6 a try )

I'm in the same position as him. Which one would you suggest for stability and battery? For camera I'm gonna use fv-5 I guess it will take the same picture on all the roms, I also like cm based roms such as blisspop or nightlies, but I want to make sure I have a good battery and stable rom..
CloudyG2 best for me so far.
Quetzal ROM is the best, smooth and stable never found any bugs and you have an iOS status bar

You just got your G2. Give it some time. While testing the stock rom learn about the device and read some guides. Flashing stuff to a device you don't know anything about is the worst. Don't hurry.

1. Root your D802 with Stump Root
2. Autorec for D802
3. Flash TWRP 2861 by blastagator
4. BACKUP BACKUP
a. EFS
b. Sensor
c. Modem
d. Full Backup (/data /system /boot)
5. Flash your chosen ROM
a. GAPPS
b. SuperSU
Note: read the O.P. of your preffered ROM twice or more 'coz of the Baseband or Bootloader requirements.
Avoid Over Heating your G2 for screen damage (black lines, etc)

The thing is, that I hate LGs kitkat UI. So I want to switch it as fast as possible, to get good first impressions ) .....
And I am man who learns doing...even if it mens to brick device while doing it

In the same boat for D802, just did mine to regular cm12. blisspop and ressurection had borked dt2w for me. Cm12 05/08 for me has working dt2w and is very stable and polished, more so than the other 2 imo, but the camera leaves much to be desired. The earlier step by step reply was good but i used the following root then autorec instead (made sense since they were on the same page)

Both programs work well and are super easy to do, as long as you can set up adb for the root program on that page. the blastagator twrp mentioned earlier is here

only thing you may need to fiddle with is the bootloader/ baseband. (baseband = modem, which took me a while to figure out). stock roms might not need changing but aosp roms like cm need a JB bootloader. e.g. cm12 needed a JB bootloader (autorec flashes a KK one) and either a JB/KK baseband, but this is advice specific to cm. you need to search and figure out what combo. Came from a N4 where this was all super easy, doing it on a g2 is a bit more difficult
