I'm pretty pro at working Adobe Flash. I can do just about any Atrix boot animation your imagination can think of, as long as it's doesn't go on forever.
If anyone has any ideas for a nice boot animation I'll put it together.
I've always liked the night rider red bar going back and forth.
I do have a question though. How can you change the boot image from the red Motorola Dual core one to not stay on as long. Like down to maybe 5 seconds tops?
Yea, I'm not sure either about that. I think it's just always there because the phone has to have time to boot up just like a computer. You cant reduce the boot time. And do you mean like a loading bar?

Thanks for the info.
No I mean the background all black and the night rider red block light going back and forth during the boot animation.
- the m logo
- m logo opens up like a car boot
- inside the boot shows the dual core chip
- the dual core chip revving into life (like a race car's engine)

Hmm how would I make the dual core chip rev like an engine? Like shake or what?
A few shakes then the last shake produces some sort of light around the chip
oh wow that would be one sexy boot animation!!
Sorry my mind got carried away? What do you mean by the M logo?
M Logo....Motorola 's Initial M Logo when you boot up the phone
Ok. So, I am imagining something like this.
The "M" logo with some crease down the middle. Picture looking down on the hood of a car from above. So the "M" logo would be the car hood and you hear the engine start. (the sound of a 1970's muscle car starting up so you can hear the engine turning over). The hood pops up and you look down and the Tegra2 chip is the engine. The car revs and the chip moves to the left and right some like a real engine.
Then the hood slams shut and you hear the tires squeal and the "M" logo speeds off the screen.
that would be one bad ass boot animation
Yeah bro...u got it..something like that...dat would really show that the phone is powered by a dual core chip...n to correlate it with a car's engine??? Any man's dream i tell ya...
Omg that would be SICK!!!!!

That's one I understand actually. I think I could start working on this soon.
Sounds like a great one.
So if you are still down to make a bootloader animation could you design one that starts with a dark blue sky that pans down to have a black silhouette of a wolf letting loose a howl and then panning rapidly up to a white moon upon which a symbol such as the Motorola M could be in? Would be sweet... thank for doing this one way or another.

Hi!
First: I know, the HTC Legend has a buildin feature, to turn off the screen while in call.
The problem (like already discussed in the forum, but not solved) is, that the screen gets black even before the phone reaches my ear - and until the call ends, the screen stays black, even when I hold it in front of me for example to check a calender/contact in the phone.
It's definetly a lightsensor problem, found on many legends.
My fix till now: Use a finger to overlay the lightsensor (left from the HTC logo) - the screen appears again.
But that is quite annoying, so is there not a fix somehow? Something that makes the sensor more/less sensible?
It seems that, when I am outside in the sunlight, it's no problem, but when the room is slightly lighten, screen stays black....
Any solution would be great!

hi all i own the white version and i notice that when i am in a dark place and the lights of the back buttons is on its kind of splash to the screen...
since then i disable this function and turned the lights off at all time.
i just wanted to know if that a known thing or is it just a problem in my phone...
If you mean you can see light through the phone, then all white phones do that. The blue doesn't. But not sure if it goes all the way and affect the screen.

My phone seems to have an issue where in cold weather or an air con room strange grey and white lines flicker across the bottom centimeter or so of the screen, distorting the image. Even in just mildly chilly weather (around 26 degrees celsius) I get this issue. However if I heat the phone up by playing a graphic intensive game or the like, they go away. Anybody else have this problem?

Nah, I'm pretty chill, and it was amusing, plus I'm happy for the bump.
Anyway, new question - can somebody recommend some overvolting/overclocking settings that I can use to make my phone hot? Because as it is now even at room temp I get those lines, I'm not too sure anymore that heating things up will get rid of them, but it's worth a shot.

I suggest a warranty replacement. Who wants their phone to have to stay constantly heated. Not sure how much to over volt to for the i777 but I use no frills app for clock work on my tab

Sadly that's not an option as I bought it used (but mint) and unlocked (where I live phones don't come with contracts, so you shell out about 700$ for a new high end phone). It worked fine for the first month, then things went weird a week ago...no idea what the problem could be. I ordered a new battery and am flashing back to stock to see if it's a software issue, but I doubt either of those will solve it.

Seems unlikely, as even in recovery, etc I get those lines - and screenshots show up perfectly fine, with no artifacts that would indicate a problem with the gpu.

I too agree. Although it is completely different, I got the same thing on my Xbox 360. Checkerboard/white and black lines are indicators of a bad gpu. I have since stopped using it but it will eventually lead to the red ring.

If it was the GPU is should show up in a screenshot, no? Anyway, I'll try to get a technician to have a look at it and see if he can do anything.
It's really weird though how the problem disappears once the temperature reaches 40 degrees celsius. I really can't figure this thing out.

hey I have the same issue on my phone.Grey horizontal lines appeared on the screen. Only 1/3 of my phone screen is in normal condition without grey lines. When I used my phone at the outdoor approximately under 6 deg celcius, 2/3 of my phone screen were then covered by dark screen!!! However, when i go to a warmer place and restart my phone few times then it had gone better condition yet the grey lines still appear there. May I know have you solved your phone screen issue?? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
As said before, GPU. My old Xbox did the same thing but if I put a heater behind it it would be fine. Sounds like the soldering is bad to be honest.

Unfortunately I have not been able to solve it, at this point heat no longer matters. Whether the phone is hot or cold I still get about the same amount of grey lines. You can try to take it in to get checked for faulty screen or gpu, but where I live the repairshop didn't have the necessary parts.

Sorry for posting on this old thread, but I have the same problem, did you find a fix?
Has anyone found anyway to change the frequency the LED flashes with notifications? I've searched around and haven't found anything. I tried out a few apps but none seemed to change the power button LED.
Nope, i was fine with it until i saw my gfs gs3 light up like an xmass tree to let her know she got a text message.
Ours works but its pretty lackluster.
The only hope for a faster LED is when the ROMs start coming out that give control of it. And who knows if it'll even have the ability to be changed then. Stuck with a 25 second gap (for now).

25 seconds between flashes!? I've seen a E971 (Rogers variant) flash its front notification led and it was on for about a second off for two.
Can anyone clarify the blinking pattern on the AT&T model please? I'm thinking of getting the AT&T version due to expandable storage...

25 seconds (may)be a little drastic, but no one's really sure why there's such a time difference with the notifications.
Next time you get a text or something, check how often the light around the power button goes off. It's pretty annoying.

Well I checked for ya, and it turns out it does take about twenty five seconds for the power button to glow red. You have like a two second time frame to see it lol.

Thanks. So is it 25off, 2on, 25off, 2on, etc or is it just an initial 25s?

Its minutes between blinks it feels like.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
It's definitely just twenty five seconds haha. If your phone is locked during the time you get the notification, the power button will immediately glow red for about two to three seconds, turn off, and the light will come back on in twenty five seconds and so forth.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Very much useless compared to other phones I've had. With the long intervals between blinks and short duration of the blink, I almost never notice it. I just periodically hit the power button to see the lock screen rather than try and wait out the indicator light.
It's really only a problem if your phone is on silent and you haven't checked on it every once in awhile.
A theory to negate this minor flaw is to have a repeat notification (sound) feature for when you hear your phone but you're too busy to check it.
I'm not sure if this option is available, and if it's not, maybe it could be suggested to a dev and implemented somewhere.
Sometimes the charging indication stops blinking too at about 80%, although I thought I read somewhere the batteries only really charge to 80% to last longer, so there may be some tweaking that needs done. I like the gradual brightness it does too sort of how the HTC Fusz phones would look like they are breathing when charging.
My SG3 did light up like crazy, but was too bright and only worked with Samsung apps- K9 Email for instance had weird blinking and only blinked in the default color which for a tri-color was a waste. My Atrix HD blinked all the way home from the Activation SMS then never blinked again for the whole week I put up with it then returned it, so I think I can live with 25sec for now. It kind of reminds me of Knight Rider too and I like Red over blue/green.
Yeah my roommate actually has a SG3 and her LED light drives me insane. It's just way too bright, frequent, and distracting. Not exactly a phone you can sit on your desk and just ignore while trying to do something else.
Has anyone tried something like light flow from the play store to see if it can change the interval?
I've been following this phone because I hope to steal my wife's upgrade next month . I haven't fully decided, but I'm really leaning towards the lgog.

Edit:
It looks like a recent update of the light flow app added nexus 4 support, so that might be useful for the lgog.
