Hey guys im wondering for the one's who have tried bionix v the old version and the new one, can you give your feedback about it???
in my opinion i dont see a great change of it. and i even think that the old version works better i dont know how about you guys???
Had bionix-v and flashed 1.2 yesterday night. So far I don't see anything different. For that matter, I haven't seen any real changes since Nero 5 which I thought was a great ROM. I just flash the newest because - well - because I can.

Lol yeah me too!! but the Nero rom is the one called nero-5-voodoo??? i have that zip file and never use it.
For me just having the Percent of batterly life number bigger was worth the 2min. it took to flash.
There was no real cosmetic changes just some "behind the scene" changes. Getting geared up for 2.2.1 i guess. I like the no wipe option now although I still wiped.
Only difference I see so far is my GPS isn't nearly as good. Before I start a "GPS sucks" war I am going to re-flash and test again. I want to do a few battery cycles before I flash to see about battery life as well.
If you are a cosmetics type flasher I would just stick with V. If you are an avid updater and ROM whore such as myself then flash away.

I hear you!! lol im just testing each rom out to see what's best for me but i want to know hows everyone else doing with them also.
the old bionix rom has excellent battery life. I use a combination of bionix v1 with the kb1 modem. Standby battery is amazing. 28 hours with moderate usage (xda, engadget, texting, web browsing, etc). So I am hesitant to switch, I would recommend keeping the old one until 2.2.1 kernel

Nahhh I kept it the same whatever the kernel was before. And that 28 hours went down to about 22 but that is still amazing.. the standby time is awesome, thats what gives the battery life. If you use it constantly it will drain but if you use it like a normal human being it will be perfect for you.

Yea dude no problem. Hey if you come up with a good combo that helps with the battery life while the phone is awake, pm me and let me know your ideas. And so far bionix v has been doing wonders for me but axura has a kb1 based rom out and I can only imagine it will be good. I choose to have bionix because I DESPISE axuras theme.. lol
Ps. To test your battery life just download the battery left widget and check it every once and a while. Once you use your phone (from 100% to 0%) the readings from the app will be fully accurate and can tell you how much battery you have left and how long. The battery accuracy is set as you lose battery, so the more you use it, the more accurate. So to test your combos use this widget to determine battery life and which ever one has the most hours, should be the best. It will take a while but it will be worth it lol

Nero 5 v Bionix V
I can only compare Bionix V to Nero 5.
Both are very close. Battery is much better on Bionix 5. Was using KA7 modem on Nero 5. Just installed KB1 modem on my Bionix 5. Will have to see how that works out. So far I can tell that I get a better signal and faster D/L and U/L.
I am getting lower Quadrant scores on Bionix (1300)compared to Nero (1500) on stock cpu not overclocked.
Overall I am happy with what I got so far.

So now im a little confused so Nero 5 is a Bionix build? And if that's true the zip file for nero 5 is the one called Nero-5-voodoo?? I have this zip file in my pc but never use it.

It true, i would leave my phone there. Not doing anything and an hour later my phone had lost like 25%!
1) do a proper battery calibration
2) take a good look at your apps, there are lots is poorly coded apps that drain battery.
3) do all tests on a stock kernel (not overstock or cw)

I have Trigger and I think it's the best Rom. I found that when phone is in idle battery drains really slow but when display is on battery drains very very fast.
How do we do a proper battery cailberation?
Try Darky's 9.3 Final for vibrant.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973811
It's 2.2.1, not 2.2; but it's similar, stable, fast and good battery life.
Personally, I love it and generally get a good day's use with a good amount of operation time.
Then download "Super Manager" from the market and use the widget that comes with it. It's the most reliable and effective task killer I've ever used. Make sure to enable root permissions and check the "clean system memory" (or something like that) box in the settings of the app.
For themes, go to the i9000 forum and
1.) download the theme you like (should say if it's for Darky's 9.3)
2.) Explore the file and delete the "services.jar"
3.) do a Nandroid Backup (as usual)
4.) flash it.
5.) Enjoy =D
Hope this helps your search!

You're running some apps that drain your battery. I've gotten 30 hours plus from both Trigger (older version) and the latest Bionix. On the newest Trigger right now and it's even better.
Are you in a low signal area? Are you using screen brightness on high? Are you leaving wifi on when not connected to a network? There are lots of things that can cause poor battery life. I can assure you it's not the ROM.
Sweet Honey 2.5 running 2.2.1! by far the best.
Battery life is amazing and signal is great.
running it stock install OS 1.4.1 kernel and ka6 modem.
I have the same question like u, I want to find a really amazing ROM too
First off, asking a question like that you will never get a straight answer.
Reason being: If everyone thought the same ROM was the best and only used the one ROM, there would be no need for the other ones on there.
The right answer is going to depend on what you are looking for. More speed? More battery? or somewhere in the middle.
I have run most of the current ROM's from EDT, and TW. They are all pretty damn amazing. What is going to make more of a difference will be what Kernel you are running. Also, if you OC (overclock) or UV (undervolt). There are going to be other things that will eat battery. Mainly apps, mail, and anything else that depends on wireless data when the phone is idle.
read, read, read.... I was once a NOOB, and by all accounts, still am one. (just a noob that has flashed a lot and read a lot in these threads)
what an arrogant and stupid way to start a call for help thread by insulting one if not the best custom rom out there. Seriously try thinking brfore making such an idiotic statements.

The best rom I have used is Atriac v2. I like Team Whiskey roms.
Atriac is just as fast with Voodoo disabled as it is with it enabled. Quadrant benchmark is slower with Voodoo disabled but as many others have said Quadrant isn't an accurate gauge.
I have one app that used to take at least 5 seconds to load. Lag fixes greatly reduced the apps load time. Atriac with Voodoo disabled loads that app just as quickly as using a lag fix.
Besides being the fastest, Atriac is the smoothest rom I have used.

First man, don't insult the Dev's on here. They all spend their time developing Rom's, Kernels, Themes and many other great things for our phones. Insulting them does not help you get your problem solved and makes people not want to help you. We love our Developers here and show them respect for the work they do for us. Whenever you have a problem with a ROM don't insult the Developers work rather first see if it is truly the ROM or if it is user error (no offense intended). Next if you still don't like the ROM then flash a new one. There are plenty to choose from. I personally use Simply Honey 2.5 with Overstock 1.5. Battery life is good, super smooth and really snappy. Give it a shot hopefully it might answer your questions and be what your looking for.

I'm big on battery life so wondering if any 2.2.1 roms have decent battery life yet before flashing one.
My battery life has always been pretty good but it started going downhill after messing with set CPU without really knowing what I was doing so I uninstalled the app. I've never wiped my battery stats. Any benefit in doing this?
people have different views on different roms but from mostly reading up as a noob i have noticed it is the kernel and modem that you are running that matters. so try to do some research on it. and see which one fits best.

i havent flashed alot like only 4 to 6 roms, and not to disrespect any of the developers but i have only used 2 types, trigger and team whiskey roms. both are good in my opinion. i dont do much fancy stuff just text call use data sometimes play games etc etc. regular use.
another thing i did to save battery life was turn 3g/4g off when i am not using it. just to leave it on eats battery alot. im very new and still learning. this is just an opinion.
above in the noob guide sticky you can find how to recalibrate your battery for maximum power as well. i will be doing that as well since i missed on that part.
i have never till yet flashed a different kernel or modem, but for kernel after reading a lot i have seen that people prefer tigerblood or somethign like that kernel. with their roms.
i hope this helps
I suggest an an called Tasker (from the market) which will let you set a profile that turns off data when the screen is turned off. Saves a lot of battery power.
Oh, yeah, of course you should set screen brightness to 10% and use a Dark homescreen.
Never had to do any of those things. But always had at least a full day's use out of one charge.

Hello to all of you. I wanted to know what rom are you using? I'm currently switching from Bionix 1.3.1 and Nex Gen v2. if you guys use something different that is giving you better preformance, then please let use noob know. If you can tell us why you like it and what makes it better the other rom that would be great. If I missed any ROM then I'm sorry but just put it in you reply and I will add it later.
we apericiate your help in advance.
Thank You
guys your opinion will be very helpful for us and the developers, so please lets input our preference.
RevolutionRom is very quick and very stable. There will be an update rolled out shortly that will blow anything else out of the table so if I were you I would try Revolution.
ZenDroid 2.0.1 currently but it's not listed...
I have had the best overall performance from Vibrace V1.7 (2.2.1) using Bali 1.8.7uv kernel. It's quick, smooth, and has good battery life. I have tried a variety of gingerbread ROMs but eventually come back to this ROM due to the poor battery life and poor GPS performance on the gingerbread ROMs.

who has better battery with Boinix 1.3.1 Vs Boinix Next Gen V2? I usually get 1 day/ 8hours. what about you guys?
Thanks in Advance
How many of you stick with one ROM, and how many try new thing everyday?
I been trying various GB roms lately but they all seem to have some little but nagging issues like freezes, fc, and mediocre battery life. Features and aesthetics are great though.
I run bionix nextgen as my stable rom when I'm busy and don't have time to flash around roms.
You should be getting better battery life with bionix. Try battery calibrate and Bali kernel.

What are you looking for with the kernel
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
^ what he said.
To expand on that, you have two Bali variants to choose from if you're looking for battery life to be better. There is Bali-X 1.2, which is overclockable to 1.2ghz and gives you total control of undervolting (with the use of Voltage Control app). This is more for hands-on use, where you can tinker with different voltages for potentially greater battery life savings with deeper UV action from -25, -50, -75, and so on across all frequencies.
If you just want something simple right out the box that you don't have to tweak anything to, there is Bali 1.8.8UV. This is a kernel (kernel, not kernal, please make note of that for the future ) which is -25 all across the board. This is the "flash it and forget it" kernel if you don't feel like doing any tinkering around and want the benefits of an undervolted kernel and don't really have or feel the need for the 1.2ghz availability.
Link for Bali is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043947
Happy flashing!

Check out an app called Battery Graph which gives you a simple visual of your battery use over time. Also, don't forget to do battery calibration (using a handy app by the same name) to reset your battery stats for a fresh start on the new kernel.

im gonna rock this rom for awhile.
I've tried most kernels and put them under the same controlled stress tests.
On my phone, Bali 1.2 is the winner.
Allows you to OC/UV whichever way you want. Use Voltage Control or SetCpu to play with the settings.
Immortality is a close second but I'd still go with Bali for a smidge better battery life.
