The stock Atrix boot animation always struck me as a little busy, and I really would rather not have an AT&T logo staring me in the face while waiting for a reboot. I still wanted something that felt factory, so I came up with this boot animation, tastefully fading between the moto, nvidia, and android logos, with a simple little looping activity bar on the last screen. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to put up here!
Attached are a 7zipped bootanimation.zip and a preview gif. Keep in mind that the colors in the gif are pretty simplified; the actual graphics in the boot animation are very crisp and clean.

nice, startup animation. i may mess with this at some point
If you really don't like the AT&T bootup, you would probably like the Bell one. It starts with the Motorola dual core , then switches to just a pulsing Motorola symbol. I was shocked when I didn't see a Bell logo.
Thanks any work is appreciated by me

Yeah its pretty sweet. At first I was what corporate logo???
Question. I'm currently using the computer-like boot animation posted here in the forums.
It's cool and everything, But the GIF file of that one is kinda big (I think 5MB).
Since this is one much smaller. Does that have an effect for faster booting?
Thanks

no, the boot animation will only show up for as long as the phone is booting.
i'm pretty sure, at least. someone could correct me if i'm wrong.

Nope, you're right. I was curious at first, too, so I tried a 1/15th sec animation (just a still image), and a remarkably long sequence that would've lasted like 8 minutes. The phone took the same amount of time to boot either way, give or take a second.
cool. goes with everything if one cant find something more specific.
I cant get this to install. Boot into Recovery, install zip from sd card, browse to file, yes i want to install, freezes dring install.......gave it 15 minutes and nothing. Pop battery and reboot and everything is fine but I'd really like to have this boot logo. Any suggestions?
I don't think you can install this zip via CWM unless you know how to make it a CWM zip. I used root explorer and replaced bootanimation.zip under system\media with the bootanimation.zip that came with the 7zip. You have to have root access to do this. Also, back up or rename the old boot animation into something like bootanimation.old. So far its worked for me and its super awesome!

You could try asking instead of demanding. You might get a better response.
Mod it yourself... Or check out root tools for animations and boot screens

I agree though, asking is better than demanding.
If I knew how I would help... I really like that too

if someone does listen to his demands and mod it, can you also please change the text around so its relevant, such as Snapdragon processor to Tegra 2 and Cyanogenmod to Gingerblur and Android 2.1 to Android 2.2
^ just the 3 that I noticed quickly
thanks in advance though

Love this one, been using it for a while.
Here you go...
The images have been resized to fit the Atrix.
Credit goes to Frysee for creating it. I just resized.
Someone may want to edit the images to add the Atrix info to them.
It still has the Nexus info.
Got a thread up now with the bootanimation on it
I have modified the Nexus Boot animation, it now shows information for Motorola Atrix, Don't know if its 100% accurate, Used all the info I could find, but it looks nice
*EDIT*
Fixed the problem, it now works fine!

Hey guys! So I saw a request for this bios bootscreen similar to the one linked below and decided to modify it to fit the Atrix's specifications. I have mine running on 4.1.57 but it should work on any phone that is rooted. Instructions are simple: Download the .zip file. Put a copy on you sd card, then copy it to /system/media folder in you phone over the existing bootanimation.zip. If you want to save the original one you have just rename it to bootanimation.zip.bak ect. After you replace it, just reboot and let the phone do the rest. I am not responsible for anything that goes amuck in your phones so mod at your own risk! If you want to speed up or slow down the FPS, do so int the desc.txt in the zip. Hope you enjoy!
*EDIT - 4/17/11*
I have uploaded the zips for the other 2 Roms (the first upload said GingerBlur) You now have the option of grabbing one for either GreyBlur or GladiAtrix as well!! Simply download the .zip labeled GA_bootanimation.zip for GladiAtrix or Grey_bootanimation.zip for GreyBlur. Rename them to bootanimation.zip and your ready to roll!
**EDIT - 4/18/11**
I have now changed the second looping Android screen to spell out the Rom you are currently using; whether it be GreyBlur, GingerBlur or GladiAtrix! Check out the attached photos to see what it now looks like. Or look at the GIF below to see it in action. Cheers!

Yea I could have one up by tomorrow! Was going to do that anyway Just got some work I need to get done first.
Anyone find it strange that I got a nerd boner from this? Call me crazy but I've always loved things like this. New phones and new computers don't have a "bios" like the current computers of yesteryear. new sandybridge chips have that ueif or whatever that's called. Guess a good google would solve that.
During a coffee break while working on UbunTop I threw together a custom boot animation. I don't have an animated gif of it yet so feel free to post one.
Description:
Starts with the stock Moto dual core logo then crossfades to the nVidia logo and finishes with a looping green glow around the logo.
If this goes over well may make an Ubuntu boot animation for webtop users.
Enjoy!
Don't see a link to download it.

-Can someone please help me, copied it made a backup of original, rebooted phone and now it stays on the motorola red icon saying "dual core Technology" underneath and never gets passed that, my phone doesn't work now!?!?
-I have pulled the battery several times, the phone is still currecntly stuck right now for over an hour and i can't use it just lossed my phone... Is there something i can anything? I have even tried pulling my sd card and sim card, nothing works just hangs on motorola start up screen.
Hey guys, I put this together and figured I'd share it over here since I'm considering making a jump. This is a mix of the nexus animation and the Galaxy Nexus commercial. It is a HUGE (22Mb) zip, but I've tested it running CM7 and it works. Just makes the boot a little longer sometimes since it plays the entire cycle. Then it'll loop the nexus animation until boot.
Edit: Now have a better playing 15Mb (still big I know) version.
The .gif shown here is lower quality and plays a bit different from the actual animation.

If you have the same original like I do, would it be possible to run it to "Calling All Speed Demons" then go into the "nexus splash"?
Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem. I'll try to get to it this weekend sometime. I'll throw it in the 15Mb animation so it won't be that bad of a size increase.
Edit:
Busy weekend. I'll try to get to it this week after tests.

So anyway, an afternoon worth of goofing around with various bits of software resulted it this custom animation
2001 A Space Odyssey Monolith Bootanimaion
Copy the file to /data/local/ and enjoy the primates worshiping the advanced piece of technology you hold in your pocket.
Attached below are screenshots of the first and second part of the animaiton.
Dimensions are 720x320 since i didn't want to mess with the aspect ratio or crop the picture.
Software used:
Avidemux
GIMP
Boot Animation Creator
I hope you enjoy using it (i know i am) as much as i have enjoyed making it.
P.S.
I'm aware that the logo is actually rotated 90 degrees, but it wasn't going to be recognizeable that way.
Also logo looks like it's hovering in the air for a few frames in the first part, but it would have taken me a lot more time to integrate it completely seamlessly.
That's awesome! I wonder how hard it would be to make the monolith look like the Streak itself...
Hmmm...
Not that much harder, if you can get pictures of the Streak from the same angles (or nearly the same, that can be tweaked) as the monolith. The hard part would be to make it blend in to the first half where you have a couple of frames where an ape passes in front of it. Other than that it's just the same. Really the only difficult part of this was me getting to know the menus in GIMP a little better, otherwise it's pretty straight forward. If you have found or have managed to capture the pictures needed to place the streak in the place of the monolith and fancy a go, you can PM me in case you need any clarification how to do it. I just don't think I'd have the time or patience to do it myself.
Damn thats a nice looking bootanimation. So many bootanimations appearing the last weeks. Think I'll have to switch them every week in order to enjoy everyone

Google docs link has been provided in first post. But is is not hyperlinked. Copy and paste in Browser.
Thank you Chirunavvutho for helping, I really should have either underlined or bolded the location, or both.
The location is not hyperlinked since I have registered only recently and am unable to link to external sites yet and the animation is too big to be uploaded here (~20MB).
Once I'm allowed to link to external sites, I'll make an edit to the post to make the location hyperlinked.
ouch...wow... what a huge size for a bootanimation
btw, this unique bootanimation is whort to try

Well, I saw someone had made an android boot animation based on a clip from 2001, however his bootanimation was ...... wait for it ......87.75 MB!!!
Anyway, the video and some of the linked uploaded files have been removed, most likely because of a takedown notice, due to the (i suppose) lenght of the clip used.
As for the second part , as far as I understand your post, you'd like the monolith in the boot animation swapped for an image of the streak or the android logo. Like i said a few posts back, it can be done, however:[tl;dr - what's the point] 1) it will look even more out of place in the picture and 2) It would be dificult for me and not worth the wasted time to make any of those 2 images blend in for the frames in which 2 of the apes pass in front. (I made an attempt to put in an image of the streak i found online, after cyapalmpos suggested it, well it was an hour wasted)
I'm not George Lucas, so don't expect that i'll come around in a few weeks and add or change something, then do it again and again.
However the tools I used are freely available so you can have a go if you'd like. This was done just for fun, to scratch an itch an to have a punchline for a weird joke. And I also realized after I installed it that it's something that I would rarely see, so there is no point in spending any more time with it, trying to make it perfect, if i only get to see it just occasionally, unlike, for example your theme which is something that you see almost all of the time when using the device.
Yeah I know GIMP fairly well enough, but like everyone has said I didn't have the time or patience to pull it off. It would end up looking pretty sh!tty.
The original animations fuggin ROCKS and I like it!
It's replaced my animation of Android pissing on Apple.
