I have installed the "Bell" Aussie SBF, and now my data plan does not work (wifi does).
Any ideas for how I can get this working again? Or do I just have to wait for the actual Bell SBF to get released/leaked?
Would also be nice to know if others who have used this flash are experiencing the same issue or not, to see if it's a widespread issue.
Thanks!

Did you enter the bell apn?
Sent from my rooted and frozen Bell MB860!
I don't have access to the phone until tomorrow, but I will give this a shot!
Thanks for all your help
well if you haven't done that, it will no doubt fix the problem.
Thanks a lot, everything's working now
I always thought that those settings were stored on the SIM card or something, cool to learn these things!
wait, how do you enter the bell apn?
Has anyone in Australia on Vodafone or Optus flashed this Telstra SBF to their Bell Atrix?
i'm a little concerned that the modem file will restrict access to 2100Mhz and thus I won't get WCDMA on Optus or Vodafone..

Can someone more experienced than me, please help me with this?.
I have an AT&T Atrix. I tried flashing some Latin America radios to it, like Retail Brazil and Personal Argentina ones (sorry, I can't remember the radio version number). They flash fine, and I get full signal and UMTS connectivity, but I don't have internet access. Phone shows 3G connectivity in the status bar, but it won't upload nor download data.
The reason I want to use these radios its because they were developed to be used in my area.
I can't understand why these radios kill my internet connection when other radios like the 01.97.00R works with no issues.
So, please, can anyone help me to understand why I don't have internet access with these radios?. Is there any trick I can do to fix this issue?.
I'm using the stock 4.1.8.3 radio (N_01.77.15P) now since it seems to be the most stable.
Thanks in advance.
Bump.
Please people!. Topics like "Why my Atrix is black?" gets more replies than my questions.
I'm really dissapointed. This is the fifth time I ask a question and noone gives a damn.
Now you see why people post questions in the development forum.
This is the rhythm of the bump!.
Btw, why is the Atrix black?
Dude, you had it coming. Lol!

Don't worry, it was a joke afterall.
Whipon, did you get your atrix fixed?
Whipon, Lograste arreglarlo?
Sorry to ask the obvious, but did you got your Access Point Names correct?
AT&T branded phones will have to manually get the AP configuration when used outside of AT&Ts network.
Let me know!

No, I don't know how to fix it. I'm using the stock 4.1.8.3 radio.

My APN settings are fine. I've switched radios through RSD Lite lots of times, and my APN settings remain there. There's no need to modify them.
I've manually configured my APN when I flashed 4..1.8.3, and its correctly set up for my carrier. Using 01.87.00R or 01.97.00R radios, my data plan works perfectly. But when I tried to flash some LA radios like Personal Argentina or Retail Brazil, while the 3G icon is showed in the status bar, I have no internet connection.
So I was hoping someone with more experience could help me make these radios work with an AT&T Atrix. Current stock radio works fine, but my signal strength suddenly drops very often, and sometimes I have no data and I have to reboot the phone.
Just wondering if anyone has seen or tried to develop a baseband switcher application like the one found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1203297 so the Photon can work on all US/international CDMA/GSM networks?? Out of the box it has(CDMA 850/1900-GSM 850/900/1800/1900-WCDMA 850/1900/2100-Wimax 2500).. but no 1700 T-MO..I have a Photon but no use for it since im using T-Mobile..Perhaps unlocking and a baseband switcher would enable me to use this amazing phone on any US GSM network like my Moto Defy Ive been using this app and Itfunz for international travel and im amazed how well my phone works on almost every GSM band in the US and around the globe.....Anyone?? This Phone with Root,CM7 and a "working" baseband switcher would be untouchable!!
Im on sprint so no real need for the switcher but i would love to see this come to life. I can make my brother jealous and steal his sim card.
I would love that
I am in the Dominican Republic and have not been able to find any alternative baseband versions to flash, since 3G (850 Mhz Band) stopped working a few days ago.
I´ve reflashed to stock, tried different roms and kernels, but i guess if i can swith the baseband version it might work again.
This app would be awesome, anyone tried it on the photon yet?
Any News On This?
I tryied it - doens help me.... I created activity which is switch's baseband and turn it to USA gms baseband.... I lost connection :-((( and can't repair it :-((((
please help :-((( baseband switcher says "your baseband setting are incorrect. would you like to reset it to defaults?". I answer Yes and it reboots with old settings and don't work :-(
maybe somebody knows a way to reset baseband settings?

what sbf stands for? I just bought the phone and my reason to buy it was the sim card ability I would like to use it on my trips to Mexico and I would very much love to be able to nuy a sim card from a Mex. carrier and use that way.
I believe you can. I forget the post where somebody gave the name of the sim card they used...
You may need to contact Sprint to get international use activated, I believe at no charge.

any update on this one? Agree the photon would be unstoppable if able to use on us gsm networks...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664212&page=12
I know its blocked I USA for other providers
But on engadget it says north america
I know for Verizon global phones like the Droid pro or Droid 3 they work fine in Canada
Secondly if it does work does it need to be unlocked?
Thanks!
i should add does it need the sprint sim to be in there for global or can any sim be inserted
And is neone working on removing the gsm ban for usa
The phone is unlocked for GSM so you should be able to pop on a Canadian sim. As far as I know only US carriers are blocked.

wouldn't the phone just roam on the CDMA towers in Canada?
there arent really any more major CDMA in canada, its all gsm
i just hope that popping a canadian sim card in to it is enough
I travel for work in Toronto all the time, and have never had problems CDMA roaming.. (very fast there actually..)
-mark
@mark
does sprint charge extra to roam in Canada ?? i'm planing a trip there
Yes, but it's a fair price. $0.002/kb vs. at&t's $0.015/kb. Use droidwall to block data access to the apps you need.. I usually spend an extra $20/30 for a week in canada in roaming charges.
Voice calls still cost too much I think (but they may have a plan to make it cheaper..) - i just use my phone for data..
-mark
I am thinking to get one,
does it work with Canadian carriers(or any countries other than US) even voice and data?
Thanks a lot.
thats what i wanna know
can i pop a canadian sim card, or is it also blocked
or is it just usa thats blocked like the verizion droid globals
canada and unlocked photon
Hi I just took delivery of the photon unlocked from sprint , I have put in the sim from Rogers and the cell part works just fine, I cannot get the data side to work though, I have played with all the settings I can find, anyone have a thought it would be appreciated. it says the 4 G not found, when I select network I choose the 3g on rogers, there is a 2g option, and I make sure the data on GSM is on
thanks

set up APNS still not working
Hi thanks for the post , I ahve set up both APNs as listed and rebooted the phone, I have set the mobile manually to the rogers 3g as when I turn on the 4 g I cannot connect, but I still cannot get data access on the 3g Hmm not sure what to do next , any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
Sprint locked the UMTS radios to disable use on AT&T's network. That's the frequencies 850 MHz and 1900 MHz.
Rogers, Bell and Telus all use these frequencies for UMTS as well. I imagine if it is blocked for AT&T, then you won't be able to use it on these carriers either.
Bell/Telus CDMA/EVDO, and GSM/EDGE 850/1900 protocols still live in Toronto will work with the phone, though.
You may have to contact either Sprint or Motorola to get this fixed as it is clearly false advertising.
Sucks though I wish I saw this before I ordered it (for use on Bell HSPA). Gonna have to get my rage on.
Sprint apps
Hi..
Please accept my apologies if my questions are a bit primitive, this is my first post. I appreciate guiding me step by step or pointing to another post if mu questions kinda repeated.. Thanks
I just bought a Motorola Photon on bay. I am in Canada.. The phone works well with Rogers, Fido..
Luckily, the phone is rooted. I also managed to get its MSL code.
Will a factory reset wipes my root advantage ??
Now, how can I get rid of these Sprint apps?? Having the MSL now, what benefit can I have in breaking free from Sprint-related stuff?
Is the WiMAX unlocked from Sprint if I happen to have WiMAX available??
I have too many questions, but let us start step by step.. I really do appreciate your explanations.. Thanks v much
Backup activation of Sprint ..
install root explorer by market and rename the following applications
from the system folder / app:
SprintOMADMConnMOPlugin.apk
SprintOMADMConnMoPlugin.odex
in
SprintOMADMConnMOPlugin.apk.bck
SprintOMADMConnMoPlugin.odex.bck

yes, it'll mess it up a bit, won't completely wipe, but will mess it up so that you'll have to reinstall.

root is what allows you to get rid of the sprint apps. there's a thread on what apps you can get rid of and what you can't... there are some apps that you can just uninstall by just going into >settings>applications>manage applications, while others you need to remove by root explorer, or manually (remount rw, and remove from /system/app)

not really clear on this question - you have WiMax if you have a sprint account, it used to be due to the $10 premium addition, but they've changed it to all smart phones. turn it on, see if you can find the network, and connect to it.
hope that help.s
Hi.. Thanks for the replies
I am not sure what do you mean by "mess it up ... have reinstall??" do you mean just reinstall superuser app from the market ??
I mean if WiMAX is available in my area outside the US. Will I be able to use it ??
I just need ways to break-free and unlock the phone from any Sprint related ties. i am not living in the US and there is no Sprint here in Canada or any country I am traveling to..
Enough that I also cannot use it with a sim card with a US carrier as it is next to impossible as I learn,.. I don't want to regret buying the phone that is why I rooted it and managed to get the MSL
to try to unlock it from Sprint as much as I can..
Thanks lot
factory resets basically clear /data and /cache.
/data is where all of your downloaded apps are stored (including superuser)... as well as your user data, settings, accounts, etc.
su (root) is located in /system/bin linked to /system/xbin, so it won't be removed and will still be on there...
as for your wimax question - i'd think if you were provisioned correctly outside the US, you should be able to access it.
the sim to US thing is something coded into the hardware, so until one of the devs here figures a way around it, we're sort of stuck...
chibucks , thanks a lot.. Your knowlege and advive is highly apreciated..
So Could I simply 1.rename the /data directory as for example, /data.1
2.Go to ##RTN#, Do a factory reset then rename the /data.1 back again to /data
Would that only be OK, or am I missing something or any other better way ??
All I care about is the root, anyting else can be re-downloaded. I don't have the experience yet to root the phone in case i loose root..
Hi guys, I am about to receive a "new" refurb AT&T GSII to use on my T-mobile account. I have not yet received it, so forgive me if this is a stupid question, I just want to be ready for when I get it.
Will I be able to root the phone straight out of the box? I know I need to run the unlocker from the market, but need to root first. Is the phone "locked" like iPhones are out of the box? Thanks!
And also, can I ask what the number 1 recommended ROM is for this phone? I read CM7 has some issues, but are there any CM7 based ROMs that everyone loves?
No, I believe the phone works just fine without a simcard. You should be able to start up odin, flash CWM, and flash a rooted rom all without an active sim card. You can also setup the phone by connecting it to a WiFi network. Once unlocked it will work with your T-Mobile sim.
I don't think the att sgs2 has the radio to work on t-mobile's 3g bands. You'll be limited to edge speeds. If you are ok with that, you should be all set.

Yea, I have no data plan so I'm all good with the incompatible radio. Plus the screen/phone size on the I777 is perfect for me, while the Tmobile one is slightly too big.
I guess I will just follow the guides to root it. Now to pick the best kernel and ROM...
Hi, I'm having trouble trying to find which american carrier i should be using with my e120l phone. I tried going to a tmobile store but they say the phone will only work on edge and i tried putting in an at&t sim when i was running on stock ICS and the internet was really slow.
I'm not opposed to using the phone at 3g or 3.5/4g, but have no idea which, if any carriers in america, offer good internet to this phone. Is there a specific combination of ROM/carrier i can use to make it work?
Thanks for the help!
