Hi,
Is there any good and free Drum Machine for Andoid(SG3)?
I mean something like this one for the IPhone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-w8UyoyRpQ&feature=related ,
with multitouch and where you can use own samples or packs/sounds?
DoinG!
You may want to take a look at Electrum Drum Machine for Android. It's more of a step drum sequencer, but rather functional.
And then there is TouchOSC for Android, which turns your Android phone into multi-touch midi controller for any instrument in Ableton Live, Reason, etc. But it's a bit of a headache to set it up (;
Thx I'm going to take a look at them. : )

Does anyone know of software to edit mp3 files on the xda, cut bits out, join 'em up, save as different fomats. Just something to fiddle with on the tube?
Wow. Is that really functional?
Probably can be written, but probs would need more RAM than is available. So i doubt it.
Stick to using the xda as a pda + phone , let it add value to your life, dont let it become your life......... tempting sometimes i know..
use www.dbpoweramp.com for converting software on your pc.
use audacity (from download.com) for editing software on your pc
It would be nice, but ansaar99 is right - it should just be a PDA and phone, but we can dream...
my mate and I discussed the possibility of a music studio app like Reason running on something like this, graphics wise it wouldn't be a problem with Reason as it has the same screen shape, but the main drawback would be the power needed to process the audio, however wouldn't it be great to have a full studio on screen, with magnification bubbles when you need to tweak something........
dream on
I'll just use it to keep in contact and play my demos I think !!
just out of curiosity does anyone know if the processor speed is directly comparible to standard desktop speeds ?
First off, I'm sorry if this isn't the right section, I didn't know of any other places to post it.
Guys, I'm really loving boxee. I recently ordered the equipment for connecting my PC to my TV, only thing I need now is a Boxee remote (Should have thought of that before I orderd the stuff, right?)
Well, windows mobile is about one of the only major operating systems without a app for windows mobile.
If I'm seeing correctly, and hearing from some of the developers that work with boxee (Not staff, but community) it doesn't seem very hard.
BTW, Boxee is a media center, based off of XMBC. It's really cool, I suggest you guys check it out.

This is the boxee remote api; http://developer.boxee.tv/Remote_Control_Interface
and I found this cool boxee remote gui that you guys can use if you don't want to design one yourselves. http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=13329
There are some web versions of the application, but they aren't that smooth, I think a dedicated application will be great.
I don't know much that I can explain, but if you guys have any questions, you can ask (PM) me.
I have just bought an Android 2.3 tablet for my son. One of the things he wants to be able to do is produce his own MP3s by recording from his electric guitar and editing / creating his own tracks.
I have also purchase a 'plug & play' USB guitar lead - but the tablet doesn't recognise it, and I haven't found an audio editor he could use to produce his own music.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
2.3 or 3.2 tablet?

2.3 - does it make a difference?

Although I don't believe there are any audio editing apps out there, for future reference, Google's tablet OS is 3.0+ while Google's phone OS is other such as 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. If there are any tablet optimized apps, which would make sense if some developer made an app as productive as audio editing, they would be for 3.0+, aka Honeycomb. I don't see developers developing what your son wants to do for the phone versions. In my opinion, an Ipad would have been a better option for what your son wants to do. Sorry, but that's the truth.
If I'm wrong, someone correct me please.

I wouldn't buy an Ipad on principle (if only because you can't change the battery, never mind a number of ideological reasons) - but the cost is also prohibitive for something for a 12 year-old.
All tablets come with Microphones built in, I'm amazed they can't accept and edit audio via a cable?
I saw a video of a guy using his phone as a controller for World of Warcraft while running the game on his PC. He was essentially using the phone as a casting bar. I'm wondering what software (if any) is the best for that sort of thing. I basically need something that will act as a second monitor for my laptop and let me create custom buttons on that screen.
In fact, I don't even need the screen function. I just need a tap on my phone to register as a keypress on my laptop, and I need to be able to configure a grid of buttons. Being able to also give them custom icons world be ideal, but that might be too much to hope for. And connecting via bluetooth would also be smashing, but again probably just a dream.
Is there something out there like that, or was that video just a fabrication/test?
If I had to guess, that was proabably a WoW hack. Most likely, it was interfacing with his WoW account and not with his computer directly.
I dont play wow but apps like blueputdroid or other bluetooth keyboard like apps may work right i know that app has all the f keys and watnot??
Could he have been using Kainy?

IS there any way to use the HTC One as a remote for my Nikon D7100? I know I've got an IR blaster, Bluetooth, esc... But I'm not sure if there is any way to go about using it as a remote shutter activator. My camera does not have Bluetooth, however it does have to inferred receivers.
Let me know if you guys have any idea.
Thanks

sure, you just need to make a app for that.
Moved to Q&A
Ir blaster on the ONE is kinda pointless.

you can
not true. using it with my D7000 and it works just fine. you just have to create a new remote then when it says choose tv brand you select unkown manufacturer and then you go an manually teach the phone what you want to do. now, providing that you already have a remote compatible with your camera you just pres the remote button and set it to whatever button from the remote you want. there are 26 of them so there are plenty  i set mine to the OK one because i think it is the easyest one to hit. enjoy!
This app looks interesting for stuff like that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remotefairy2&hl=en but I wasn't (yet) aware you could train the built-in remote from HTC as described in the above post.
shameless plug
Shameless plug here, but I put together an app that does exactly this
There are a few on the play store, but search for "SLR Camera IR Remote" for mine (been a long time member here, but been lurking a lot.. so I don't have enough posts to post external links).
I wish the remote app was a bit simpler. Having to bounce all over to control my tv and dvr is rather annoying...
It should just need an update to add the capability to recognize other things such as cameras that have IR sensors (personally I didn't know such a thing existed)
The app needs a squeeze to put as much control as possible into one screen so you don't have to bounce back and forth. A toggle somewhere to swap between as well. Won't happen unless someone makes an app or HTC decides to see their folly.
Still, it's unique, so it's nice to use when I don't feel like gettin up for the actual remote lol.
