anyone getting this error with getting MMS on the simply arabic rom....i almost did everything possible to fix this issue but no good...i can send MMS to everyone even to myself but when i recieve MMS it says(the media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction) by the way i got alot MMS from different numbers and all say the same please need help thank you.
never had that problem, try using one of the mms apps off the market and see if the solves

Yes, I had to delete the MMS app, with root explorer, and copy & paste the MMS app from the Project V ROM zip.

Have you applied a theme? That is when I had the problem. I did the steps I stated before and had my friend resend me the pic, and it worked! It has been working ever since I did this.

Yes I did put a theme on it. So, I need to go back to the stock theme of project V? Sucks, I liked the theme I put on. Oh well.

I changed back the stock app. Could it be possible that I'm not getting pictures because of the phone they are being sent from? My girlfriend sent me a picture from the g2, but it shows up like a movie in the text, when i click on it, it plays for like 5 seconds and then says the resolution problem message.

I am not sure. I just know on mine, after changing the app, I was able to view any & all pics sent to me without any errors.

Edit: the main purpose was in hopes of just sending clear mms pics. I hoped a higher limit would solve the issue. As it is, its just in the 3.0 mms and if you have thunderbolt on a custom rom and fin all your mms pics are fuzzy/not clear, then extract a sense 2.1 mms from a stock ota rom and install it in Place of your sense 3.0 mms. It has cleared up the pics on 2 tbolts running the same rom. There is still compression but the pictures are sending full screen now an look great. Hope this helps.
Wanting to bump it up to 2mb or 5mb from the 1.2mb its at now. My friends pics are looking bad sending thru mms. Any ideas? I ha e an Evo and at 5mb limit my pica send to him full screen and clean but no matter what he does his always come out jagged or fuzzy.
this pisses me off so bad i send a pic and the quality gets destroyed
Yeah, is there a fix for this? Any ideas or solutions? I was told ever since I supposedly went to a sense ROM, my pics have been distorted. Maybe that could be a start....

Ill play with it when I am in a 4G area again. That wont be till next week, I am afraid.
No more problems ppl. Change out your mms to a stock 2.1 mms. I did this and send crystal clear pics using mms now..

Handcent SMS allows 1M, 1.2M, 2M, and 5M attachments. The two highest settings do say "EVO only" though.

And they do not work on the tbolt. We couldn't get it to send pics. Replacing the mms.apk w a stock gingerbread sense 2.1 mms.apk fixed the problem. Even though it is still limited the pics are clear now.

That's true, it doesn't work, but I suspect it's being "blocked" (by VZW). I tried 5m, 2m, and 1.2m and I'd get the message "Content not accepted". Looking that up, I find this:

When it says "not accepted", that sure sounds like a server is what rejected it, not the phone itself.
It is the mms.apk in the ROM. I pulled a 2.1 mms and it works correctly. Not the 3.0 mms.

I can understand if Max quality is necessary but the issue was due to the 3.0 mms on the rom that the myth and mad96 are on. Its a great rom but would always send fuzzy mms. Swapped a stock mms and prob is solved.
How do you swap in a stock mms 2.1 apk? Is it just like installing a zip from sdcard or is there more to it?

Just find a stock sense 2.1 rom and extract the system/app/mms.apk. then w a file explorer, copy your current mms.apk from your current rom to SD as a backup. Replace w the extracted apk. Set permissions and reboot. Should be nice and clean

Honestly its been 6 months since we did this so it would be hard to say But any sense 2.1 mms.apk should do. Make sure whether you are deodexed or odexed. Most rooms are depdexed but you will need to make sure first.
If unclear, w root explorer (my personal choice) go to system/app and just look to see if there is an odex below Any apk. If not, grab you the latest deodexed ota. Download it (on wifi or 4g of course ), do not install it! Justclick the zip in root explorer and navigate to the system/app/mms.apk and extract. Then replace w my steps mentioned. The reboot should drop it in and the pics should look nice and clean.
Just remember odexed/deodexed. Sense 2.1 only, if you are only on a 2.1 rom. MAY work on hybrids as long as they were on 2.1 mms previously but can't guarantee.

Sorry to bother you again. I moved the Sense 2.1 mms.apk to the location you told me, but now the messages app is gone. I tried to install the new apk manually, but it keeps failing. Also the permissions are the first 2 at top row, the first one on bottom 2 rows right?

Did you reboot after setting permissions to match the system (r-w-r-r)
Just upgraded from 1.0.4 to 1.1.0. Update went just fine. My phone shows 1.1.0. I cant seem to find something. One of the screen shots in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1299474 shows the screen shot attached to this post. I cant figure out how to get those icons (airplane, flashlight) to appear on my phone.

All is see is Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, Brightness,Settings,Sync, Screen Timeout and Tips
Did you download the full.zip or the upgrade? If you downloaded the full, did you wipe before installing?
thats odd because I see those icons. Maybe retry the update zip? Not sure if that will work, though.

Not a full/wipe. I pulled down the update only file and loaded it. Trying the update again. I hate to have to do a full/wipe. PIA to get all the settings back in place.
You can try the full install zip without the wipe. I've done that with the previous updates (within the same ROM) with no issues, but haven't tried with this update.

Put the mms.apk from the cm7 rom in your system/apps folder
reboot the phone and you will be good to go.
That's what a lot of people have done with excellent results.
I have tried just putting it back, and i have tried that one as well and it just force closes. any more ideas??
Is there currently a fix so when someone sends text with a mms or more than one photo in a single mms is will show like a single message and not an annoying slideshow?
This has been the one thing I cannot stand about android over other os's.
Most of my friends use iPhones and can't understand why I tell them to send each thing as a separate mms.

And how about viewing the MMS message itself. When I click to view it, it's not even full screen. Is there a way to adjust that?

I'm on the stock 407 with my dell streak. Basically when on the stock messaging app, when a text message exceeds 160 characters it is converted to MMS. I have been using third party apps but I really prefer the default. My streak is rooted, and I was wondering if anyone knew a way to stop my text messages being converted to mms?
search in the setting that called as SMS Split or something similar...
sms split will auto split any message above 160 character... and therefore avoiding sms to mms conversion..

Where do I need to look for SMS split? In superuser? Sorry I'm new at this.
open your messaging application and then press the streak hardware middle button... it should show Settings or something similar...

As I stated above, that setting does not appear and if you actually read the post you'd know I'm using the default messaging app.
I was referring to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423340 that someone suggested.
It tells you to change some system files, I've tried ES file explorer but it only lets me access my SD card.

Es explorer does have root access but not by default you have allow access through its.settings!

notice the red box on the picture 01? select it...
and then notice the red box on the picture 02 ? select it...
there.. thats it... now your sms will not auto convert to mms when it exceeds 160 character limit... done... simple as that... no long winded path...

Unfortunately gingerbread and on the 407 stock rom does not have this split sms option as I previously stated, thanks for the help anyway.

I have a Streakk 5 running Stock 360, rooted with a few tweaks and I have no problems sending long txt's or pics. I have tried multiple Gingerbread rom's and I have foung the split SMS option in some, but all of them require me to have my data on to send or recieve pics. I have a limited data package and was hoping someone knows of how to change settings or of an app that will allow me to send and recieve pics without data on.

Hey guys, I downloaded the Jelly Beans mod and got the 4th release, flashed it perfectly and everything works perfectly. After about 24hrs of use I tried to send out a picture, the "Forever alone troll face" to my buddy hehe. I noticed it was stuck in sending. So I re-sent it, still stuck in sending. Restarted, stuck in sending, sent a different pic, now both are stuck in sending. Took a pic of my girlfriend sleeping with her finger in her nose, stuck sending. THESE PICS ARE IMPORTANT!
Anyway I can receive pics no problem but they wont send! I noticed on my GSIII when i had CM10 that this problem popped up too, I have full service and when its on stock, it never has problems with MMS. HELP! Thanks

If you are talking about Bean's rom with aosp mms, that is a mod I did. It comes with a few caveats as its hacked in framework code.
When it gets stuck, you need to long hold the message and forward it. It should go right through at that point. I am surprised he didn't mention that in the thread (or did he?).

Hey, since you did the mod for the MMS app in Bean's REV 4, can you possibly look into an issue I posted yesterday? I can't save any attachments sent to me through text message. I get this error:
"/storage/sdcard0/DownloadIMG951035.jpg: open failed: EACCES (Permission Denied)"
Is there some script I can run to give the app permission to save attachments to my SD card? Or is there some option I need to enable? Thanks!

I can save items to external SD in OTHER apps if that's what you mean. Like, I have no issues saving attachments from emails. If you're asking if I can change the text message app to default to saving the attachment to my external SD, I'm not quite sure where I'd change that. I don't see anything about where the default save path is in the options menu. And when actually saving the attachment, I don't get to choose where to save it.
I long-press the picture, choose "save attachment" from the menu, select with a checkmark the attachment to save, and then it immediately gives me the error I posted above. Am I doing something wrong here lol?

Sorry, I'm still a newb at all of this. What do you mean by AOSP MMS?
Basically its the text app they moded so its not the standard touch wiz text app. Its the pretty nexus looking one.
