[Q] BB flashing - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, i have a question about flashing a baseband with flashtool.
i am right now on stock 2.1 with BB 54 and and build 2.1.A.0.435 and have flashtool 2.3.0. (other flashtool didnt work on my PC.
can i just flash BB 52 with flashtool right now??
and how??

U can flash the new baseband u want over the old one, but to make sure, what ROM do u want to use eventually, cuz that matter which baseband u flash. I will update my post with a few links

I want to use wb cm 6.1.3 with custom kernel

So yes u baseband 52 which u originally want. Have u used flashtool before?
I cant post the links from my phone. Only on computer which i am away from. So heres what i will do.
The flashtool link is in the x10 android devleopment section. Once u find it, should be in the first few pages, there is a link by rendeiro2005 with a how to to how to use flashtool in the flashtool link. Keep posting if u have questions.

Flash baseband, then ROM, I am not sure about the baseband patch. I never had to do that yet. Wait for that answer. I will update you if I find that info. Or you will beat me to it.
After baseband flash, root phone through super one click, get busy box from market, and get xrecovery, install it and get ROM onto sd card and flash ROM through xrecovery.

could you post the link for the generic x10 rom? THANKS SO MUCH OFR HELPING!
It should be in the flashtool link. When I get to a computer I will see.
It is there, which X10 model do you have, a or i? Pick the one according to the model you have. And the firmware should be the .435 firmware. I will edit the post if the firmware number is wrong.
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
heres more info about my x10
model is SO-01B
baseband is 2.0.52
build number:2.0.1.B.0.19
so which rom do you want? There is a few with the .52 baseband. If you want a rom with a .54 baseband, we must use flashtool to get that.
do you have any roms you are thinking of flashing?
Once we figure that out, you can root the phone with flashtool and I will help you out with the rom you want to flash

i saw it somewhere on xda but now i dont remember. you need older stock kernel because expliot was fixed on new kernel
dude i flashed .58 kernal , and d above image is after that
and sorry for the double post
Clockworkmode is best for recovery ... use it,and to remove your error you should open task manager and kill adb.exe process and then restart all the rooting procedure that i told you...
make sure you have enabled unknown sources and usb debugging ON
And connect your device to PC only, don't connect any other usb device simultaneously like other mobile...
It should work then as i have tested it on my XMP

[Q] Broken X10

Yesterday I was playing with my daughter while trying to install the rom EWJet http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192326 and ended up distracting me, and used the FlashTool to flash files Baseband xKernel v0.2.2 + .71 (FTF) and a BLRelock before installing EWJET GB file NEW FULL Version X7ex.
Now I have a cell with BL and the MIUI caught fighting in the middle of loading.
Any suggestions (besides paying attention to what you are doing?)
ps: sorry my poor english

those are .ftf files, on those files i also found 'kernel.sin'(opening with winrar). so to go back in stock kernel would i hav to flash .ftf (in flashmode) or hav to flash kernel.sin(in fastboot mode)??
Since it is kernel.sin and not boot.img so u'll have to flash it using flashmode and you can see how it's done in the tutorial(link which I provided)....

yes u can go back to stock kernel....but ur cwm will be lost...
u can find the stock rooted kernels here....
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/41119?start=0&tstart=0
I flashed the generic ftf file via flashtool n i got stock rom+ stock kernel is it the right way? And what if i extract "kernel.sin" from generic and flash it with fastboot mode(as fastboot support flash .img & .sin),is this way possible?( In this way i can go back to stock kernel without loosing custom rom)
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app
You can just flash the kernel.sin in flashmode and u'll not lose ur rom....(I think so)
