You would think so. I have been following the threads on the Legend, Magic and Hero forums and have tried creating a port using the the HTC Android Kitchen based on their findsings and discussions, but I haven't had any luck so.

+1 to that
i got it booted a few times but always freezes eventually
This may be possibe once the wildfire s is released and the kernel source is available for it. I had a port running at one point but since it was a chinese release it had no market and I couldn't get wifi to work for the life of me. I believe it requires a specific wifi driver or kernel version.

Hello all
Had a crack at trying to root my legend about 4 months ago. Got stuck at crackin.bat and gave up.
But I think it's time. I've got Froyo 2.2 with HBOOT 1.01, are there some specific instructions for my device that won't confuse me
And I love HTC Sense too much to go with plain Cyanogenmod, is there any ICS based roms with sense? Something like how the HTC One V looks?
in the meantime htc has provided an official way to unlock the legend's bootloader - you can just follow the instructions here: http://htcdev.com/bootloader/ or have a lokk into the corresponding forum thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1498298
the development of ics for our legend is still in the early stages, so at the moment you certainly won't find a rom which bundles ics & sense. however in the development section there are gingerbread based roms, that come with sense...

There are quite a few ways to roots your legend now since Boot unlocker has been released for the Legend.
1. Downgrade and etc.: Never used this method but it was the first guide I read and it confused the heck out of me.
2. HBOOT 1.01 root: The way I used to unlock my HTC Legend very easy and comprehensive guide in this forum, CHECK IT OUT HERE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223950
3. HBOOT unlocker (Haven't used this guide before)
From the title of your thread I sense that you had trouble downgrading. No problems! Just use the 2nd or 3rd method listed above, the first guide was only used because the Legend still had eclair and the 2nd or 3rd method wasn;t released yet.
ICS rom is still in Beta version but can be used (Nearly fully functioning ). Check it out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562595
Best of luck!

Hey mate,
Sorry i couldn't give a link before.. So here is the Leedroid 3D v.5.4,
It is super fast and have no bugs atm. Trust my word I had no issues with this version. The final version was released on April. I used this when my evo3d got bricked due to a boot loop. I was new to HTC by then So this ROM is the best if you are not going for ICS.
Here is the link for the original ROM:

Before asking for/referring a rom, the op or referrers need to know if the device in question is cdma or gsm. This referred rom is gsm, the op is cdma.. Combination for an issue

I think to have 4g and/or 3d working, the ROM must have sense. So, as previously suggested, you would have to use something very stock like mean ROM and remove sense.
If you don't mind the sense apps being available, you could just change the launcher to something like adw ex and install replacement apps and widgets from the market. You could even freeze the sense apps to keep them from running.

First rom I stuck with for a while. Boots quick, too.
I've been using Dexter's JB rom from last two days, but i found it too buggy. So I am planning to flash LeeDroid HC rom. Is that possible? Will it cause any bootloop or stuck at htc logo?
I've already S-OFFed my flyer and unlocked it.

I did this literally yesterday. I am still very much a noob at flashing and whatnot so it took me an insane amount of time to get it done. I used the HTC dev site to unlock so I had to flash the boot.img from the leedroid ROM and then flash the ROM through CWM. I had a lot of bumps along the way, but at the end it all worked out fine and I am now running leedroid flawlessly.
That is just my experience, but if I can figure it you probably can too. Good luck!

Just flash away. They use the same hboot. Shouldn't be any reasaon that it would bootloop or get stuck on the splash screen.

Your question has nothing to do with the subject of this thread.
There is no "best ROM". It depends on your personal preferences, GB vs. HC or other, etc.

Thing about these aging devices are, there aren't that many dev / users to get quick answers. Unless they go through countless useful/useless posts, those that are new to devices have hard time finding which rom is less buggy or have all the necessary features they need.
As for my personal experience...
I tried Leedroid awhile ago and it felt like it was the one that had right mixtures of being stable/features I need. If I didn't had few custom things done. I can see myself using leedroid as daily driver.

Most of the rom threads include directions. Did you s-off your phone? Did you also install a custom recovery like TWRP, Clockworkmod or Amon-Ra?

If you want straight CM10, try the link I sent you and follow the s-on directions. Excuse the typo where it says flash CM9, he meant CM10. I would also suggest before you wipe /system, /data and /cache, make a back up of your existing rom in Amon-Ra.
The extra step you need to do when you're s-on is flash the kernel, the rom installer can't do it. GreyTheWolf includes the kernel in a downloadable file which you can place on the root of your sdcard and flash via the bootloader. The other option is to use your PC to flash boot.img using ADB and fastboot.
You can use Hansoon's all in one toolkit to assist in flashing a boot.img from your PC to your phone. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504824

Running CM10 on my HTC Rezound ^_^
So Ive been doing a bit more research on Jellybean roms & HTC Rezound. Seems like there arent very many due to AOSP and drivers working correctly with Sense.
I came across a Clockwork MOD recovery for JB that has AOSP, would that be a more ideal rom to use with the rezound?

ASOP based roms are a work in progress but are stable enough to use as a daily driver. Lack of drivers and the lack of an official JB release for the Rezound are some of the issues stopping it from being 100% functional. Our devs have done a great job getting the various AOSP based roms here as functional as they are and I'm sure are still trying to work out the rest of the issues.
Sense has nothing to do with it, Sense is just an overlay that HTC adds to the official build to give you the look and widgets. AOSP roms have zero Sense parts in them.
Clockwork Mod is just a recovery much like Amon-Ra or TWRP, it's not a rom.
The rom you listed is not for this phone nor will it work on it.
If the current AOSP releases aren't meeting your needs, I can only suggest you stick to a Sense rom until that happens.
Yeah an official release of Jellybean for the rezound would be nice.
Thanks for breaking it down im sure other members like myself will find this helpful.
Im more recreational than anything so I dont mind beta testing for the Devs! Im sure getting feedback will help them get closer to a stable release

With all these roms that are being released for the rezound I can understand how difficult it must be when members are looking for the best JB rom for Android, it really is a choice of preference.
Im running CM10 at the moment.
Is this the most stable rom for JB at the moment? Also would fastbooting a better kernel help improve stability?

There are a couple kernel choices that expand the governors available and add other features, check out Funky Kernel 2.2 (Funky Bean 2.2 for JB) or Ermahgerd Kernel. Both use the Aroma installer which gives you the option of installing on s-on phones, it creates a PH98IMG.zip you can flash in your bootloader so you don't need to use fastboot with a PC. Just flash the kernel in recovery and follow the directions on the screen.
As for JB ASOP roms, I'm been running Pacman a few days now (the PMEM version) and have been happy with it.

frankly, that takes 5 seconds on fastboot. Only gripe is that u have to use a PC, but still we dont have that many kernels or Roms to flash in order to make s-off much useful
On my old bravo, it made more sense, because they could remap all the partition sizes and hence decrease size of cache and system partition and added that to data partition.
But still, maybe someone will benefit from it

Yeah! There aren't much kernels or roms to flash & roms can be flashed through recovery!
But the major feature is that we can get our bootloaders locked instead of relocked & have the warranty back.
