Hi, this week I've been trying to update my apps and download new ones but it would never install as it says (INSTALLATION UNSUCCESSFUL), then when you click on it it says (UNKNOWN ERROR). I'm wondering is anybody having the same problems?
I'm using Z's 2.2 ROM with Black Market that came with it
Had the same problem, used flashtool and had to reflash 2.1 to my device! Working now!
Anything I can do like reflash gapps?

where do you get that black market? so it's the android market problem?
i'm having the same problem with my x10 recently.. nothing downloads from android market. it just stays there downloading forever and closes/opens.
you have to open 'google talk' it should fix this
sent using my wicked awesome premium xda app
google talk is already running...
i tried installing black market (i just downloaded from a website) and still does not work
Having the same problem here, nothing works for me.
All of a sudden, yesterday gmail and market stopped working. I reflashed and market is still not working as it should.
Anybody?
hope they can help you
i use the plabkmarket instead of the original one
because the market is forbidden in sudan for some political sh*t
I had to use flashtool to flash the entire OS back onto the phone, only after flashing, rooting, and reloading everything back onto my phone was I able to get it to work again! Gotta be some weird Market glitch or something. Has happened twice to me, this fixes it every time!

Yes, although usually I need to open up the market, find the app, and cancel the download first, before trying again.

I post this a lot, and it seems to help people (cough, search):
open titanium backup
go to market
wipe data (twice if you like)
in TB, menu>more>market doctor
fix the links, if any from market doctor
open the market
accept
download apps
good?
Thank you forgot to search first sorry...

Not sure if it would help under these circumstances, but it does cure alot of market issues.

What is your baseband version and which version of android are you using, considering that your WiFi is working fine, i would recommend that you uninstall market and reinstall the market apk for the same version

I just noticed that you were also the OP to the other thread I replied to. Just a word of caution, try to post everything on 1 thread. The mods may not like all these different threads.
Anyway, check out my response to your rooting issue thread.
EDIT: Forgot to answer your question on this one LOL. I would reflash your ROM.

He is using 2.1 so he can't clear the cache. He would have to use root explorer, remove vending.apk from /system/app, reboot then reinstall the market.
@shahkam I was doing some test on updating the market on 2.1 but things didn't work out. If you want to stay with 2.1 the only thing I can suggest is use erickwill's custom 2.1 which already has tweaks but it's based on the stock 2.1 rom.

Interesting...are you having trouble browsing the web using 3g/2g???
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Being blocked maybe?!
This doesn't seem an error on your rom, this seems more likely that something is blocking your download.
Not sure if this is your case scenario but i can't download any apk and others from my university.
If you are inside some company network, or something like that this most likely is the reasons.
When the download shows on the top it means your rom is trying to download, but the server may have been blocked, so it will keep trying for a long time, also may give you some small lag during that.
If you can download apk files from other sources it means that they may have blocked only using domain filter or ip filtering.
To be able to access the market doesn't mean that the server isn't blocked, only means that the main domain isn't blocked, i don't which is the server for market downloads so i can't tell you how to check this, but the best way would be to get try multiple wifi hotspots or a home totally not firewalled connection.
If it downloads but doesnt install try unmounting your SD card and download, try again and see what happens.

I'm having a lot of issues w/ the new Market app. It's not showing a lot of my paid for apps as well as others. Is there some sot of fix? Sorry if this is already a listed issue, I looked around and didn't find anything.
I agree, I myself have been. having issues with the new market even with market enabler turned on
I have been having trouble with it force closing. Wen back to the good old green market.
Market Enabler hasn't fixed anything. I tried several different apk's and none of them worked.

I've found that if you use the market site to download an app that you are missing, they'll show up.

Sent from my T959 using XDA Premium App
If you're having problems installing and updating apps (getting the "Not enough space on this device" error) you will have to empty unused files out of your /cache directory. For some reason, the new Market uses /cache to download files to install apps instead of a folder in /data.
I'm simply having an issue with Market not showing a lot of my paid for apps.

I'm the only one with no problem with the new market. It loads even better for me.

Same here. It's been perfect for me.
Can't blame me tho just cuz I was the first one to upload the apk once I got the update lol.
But for real, it just works well for me. I'm sure you've done this but have you tried going to the applications settings and clearing data ? IDK, maybe may help. Otherwise, I'm no help. Sorry

You need to download and install an older version of market, there is 1 in this post, reply #131 Attachment
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1139259) it is in a zip format which you can flash to your phone with recovery or rom manager
so you mean to say that new market doesn't work in wildfire?? than why they r providing updates automatically.
my wildfire is non rooted buddy so i m not able to flash through recovery..
do u have older market in .apk format so i can install that.
Have you tried going to menu-applications-find the market and uninstall updates?
Edit: note to self, "must read the op"
And if I'm not mistaken (which I might be) market is a system app so I don't think you can just install an apk to downgrade it, and even if you do wouldn't it just update itself again as you would still have the updater in /system/app.
Anyway here's a link to the latest v3.1.5 which should be a bit faster than 3.1.1, it works fine for me anyway.

If you don't want it to update to the new market, you can use titanium backup to freeze the market updater.apk
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Have you tried clearing the Market app's Cache and Data?
Sent from an unrooted DroidX using XDA app.
the simple way. root. detach market from updates using titanium backup. try some rom with 2.3.5 android. the new market will work
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
The new market does work on the Wildfire, you just need a lot of patience, and I mean alot of patience, as it is very, very slow. For those who don't want to wait for the new market to finally open, or not, try the link in post #2, it does work.
It only lags because stock wildfires are useless, sense is bloated and the specs of the phone aren't very good unless modified, it works perfect on cm7 overclocked.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
actually on my CM7 wildfire, overclocked 710 MHz it still runs like crap, force closing half the time and very laggy...
*edit* i can now not open the market at all: "proces com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly". I have flashed the old market from post #131 from the thread linked here before, but that changes nothing to my market sadly... Help?
The thing I found is that v3.1.3 and above works fine but below that absolutely sucked even for me, my phone only has the bare minimum running in the background at all times so always has plenty of ram but the first versions of the new style market was useless but the newer ones are working perfectly for me anyway.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
well after a lot of f-ing around, rebooting, clearing memory's suddenly the market I flashed appeared, so now I have the old style market back; thank god. Both 3.1.3 and 3.1.5 crashed for me...
I would find out the latest officially deployed Market version for your phone model (stock), and use that version. Newer versions of the Market may not work on some phones, or with custom ROMs.
As of this writing, v3.1.5 is the latest officially deployed Market version for the DroidX.

I had many problems with market and install Skype or Angry birds, but many reflashes helps
