[Q] Folders on Home Screen? - Nook Color Themes and Apps

I am using Desktop Visualizer and Folder Organizer to add a couple things to the desktop. I am doing a thing for games and apps (apps that arent games). It works with FO tagging but I was wondering if there was a way/app that would bring up a section that looks more like the normal app drawer, I don't really like the popup window that FO uses. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

In ADWLauncher you can make Catalogs, so basically you select the apps you want to appear there..
After that you can add a "Launcher Action" (as an icon) to the desktop which opens the Catalog you made.

cool, I am using ADW EX, how do I go about making a catalog?
nm, i got it. thanks for the heads up. just started using ADW.

The icons in menu cant be deleted. However, most alt launchers will let you hide icons in the menu.

Aha, what is with apps/games what i downloaded can I move them?
Your app drawer contains all apps on your phone, usually in alphabetical order... some launchers allow you to hide apps, some allow your to create folders within the drawer to group them, some allow you to re-order the drawer..
Personally, I prefer to leave all the apps in the drawers and create shortcuts to them (by dragging and dropping as you mentioned) onto the desktop and categorising the pages.. ie, I have a page of favourite games, a page of tools/ utilities, a page of media related stuff!, and a central home page with a clock and meridian music widget on it.. and finally, and page with a full page calendar widget on it.

[Q] Add shortcut to homescreen after app install

I am looking for a setting/script/app that will put a shortcut on my homescreen each time I install an app (Similar to what the Xoom does with HC). I dont like my app drawer and would rather all my apps be right there. If you have ever looked at MIUI you will know what I am talking about. Currently I am using GoLauncher EX.
Thanks!

Organise icons in main menu

hi, i have installed apps and games on my phone, the problem i am facing is that there are many icons on the menu. What i want to do is to create a folder in the menu and move some selective icons from it and paste it into the folder. Is there any app to do this.
Thanks
Search for circlelauncher in android market.
Edit: if you want you may wanna try switching to golauncher ex which supports folders in app drawer.
+1 for go launcher
Gotto agree that you should use Go launcher ex, the 2nd choice would be adw (from what ive read, never acutally used it).

[Q] Is there a way to create a short cut to Accuweather app?

I like the app but hate the widget...so is there a way to do this?
Grab AnyCut (F-Droid has it), create an AnyCut shortcut on the home screen and set its activity to WeatherWidgetMain

cool, lemme try that out.
Well, Any Cut crashes on my gs3....any other ideas?
Are you trying to add the shortcut by running AnyCut from its icon in the application drawer? Instead, make space for a shortcut on your homescreen and drag AnyCut from the Widgets section of the application drawer. It works for me on both Nova Launcher Prime and the TouchWiz Launcher. I forgot to state this earlier, sorry about that, but the shortcut takes you to the list of cities you configured - even if there's only one - so you must select your city in order to see the overview.
Resolved.
There is actually a Galaxy S3 Weather app on Play Store that creates an app shortcut for the default Accuweather widget.
It will be handy if Any Cut works on the GS3 though.

Scrolling Launcher Widget?

Someone has got to have made this but I can't seem to find it. I'm using a "hubs" layout (one screen for social media, one for productivity etc) and I'd like to essentially have a horizontally scrollable launcher widget on each screen with apps that make sense for that hub.
Currently using simi folder widget which is cool, but I'd prefer the launcher bar that is activated by clicking on the folder to live in a widget right on the home screen.
Could anybody point me to a widget app like this? I'm pretty sure I saw a video where someone had this but didn't see details on what they were using. Thanks!
Edit: sorry if this would have been better posted in themes and apps. Please move if necessary.

If I'm understanding you then what you're looking for is a dock that can display icons that are specific to the current page? Something close would be Nova launcher which provides a scrollable dock. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it!

Thanks, I'm currently using Apex and I really like it. I don't want just 1 dock (no matter how many pages on it you can scroll through). I want a different set of apps in a horizontally scrolling launcher bar widget. Then I could put an instance of this widget on each of my homescreens with different apps in each one. Then when I swipe from my "Office" homescreen to my "Photo" or "Video" homescreens this "launcher" widget has the appropriate apps for that hub. Hopefully that makes sense.
Like I said, simi folder widget is pretty good for this kind of setup, but I thought there might be a better solution out there.
