I have been looking through forum after forum about the battery life on this rom, it has been dropping 1 percent every 2 minutes or so and is about to be dead. Does this sound like a battery problem or should i just recondition it. I just wanna know whether to buy a new battery, get a new rom or what?
Ive been having the same problem, ive already tryed the reconditioning process but i still lose battery very fast. But the only time i dont lose alot is when its on standby.
my battery is outstanding on v3. Id reset and and try again, or check your apps, something has to be up. :u
What do you mean reset? Like back to stock

I think he means go into recovery and clean cache and dalvik cache. Maybe even do a factory reset (however that will clear out your applications). Just make sure you have good backups before doing a factory reset.
That never hurts to odin back to stock just to rule out the ghosts and goblins. to me, it sounds like an app issue. How many widgets are you using that need to refresh? How many programs are open and active when you first start your phone? Are you using a task killer? Are you actually using the phone actively, or is it on "standby"? Answer a few of these to give us a better picture of your usage.
My battery life has been stellar.

thanks for the wonderful help and awesome insight..
Mine has been pretty good... I would recommend what swehes said.
I got pretty good standby time, but when I use the phone (such as calling, browsing web), battery drains super fast. I can have it last more than 4 days with light usage, but less than 10 hours with normal usage (no games, only texting, calling and browsing web).
Either do the process people are calling "recondition your battery" (charge fully, drain fully, charge fully, then immediately wipe your battery stats), or charge your battery fully once on an external stand-alone charger, then wipe your battery stats.
The battery profile in the stats file with the ROM just doesn't match your real battery's performance characteristics -- low charge point, high charge point, usage curves, etc. ... so it thinks it has juice when it doesn't, or it may shut down when you should still have juice left, etc.
My battery life has improved with every day. At first, when I cleared the battery stats in CWR, the phone lasted me around 36 hours. However, the day after it could not hold for more than 16 hours, but it has been increasing and now stays around 26 hours with my moderate to heavy use.
EDIT: Freezing Media Hub and the device management service in TB has definitely contributed to the prolonged battery life, I should probably remove it all together.

If you use Titanium Backup (I highly recommend spending ~$5.00 for a full Pro version) you can freeze the apps via the Batch operation.

Is this safe to freeze both media hub and device management?
Well i just conditioned my battery and that didnt help. So i'll try wiping the caches and then if that doesnt work then i will odin back to stock and fresh install it.
And i only have weather, the messaging widget that tells me how many messages i have and thats about it

Ive also set my email never to refresh because i dont really use it that much anyway

Gotta be an app problem, I can leave WiFi on all night and only drop 10% or so.

reconditioning the battery is good to do but only gives a minor difference in how long it takes to drain. I already know it's an app problem. Open you're settings, go to applications, and select running services. What do you see?
Could it be device management?

I normally don't do this but I have seen this question 5+ times in the past 7 days. Do a search my friend.
Thanks

My suggestion...
is to try Nitro's EC01 Rom, as well as Nemesis2all's updated kernel (Which gives you the ability to change volt settings, speed, etc) which can really improve your battery life.
Ya I would say try Nitro's Evil Fascination ROM and Nemesis2all's kernel as well. My battery life is pretty good without messing with the voltage. If you're still not getting great battery life you should a) download Juicedefender. The free version does an amazing job for me or b) do some research and try to adjust the voltage settings.
I just started using Active Apps from the market. I guess it's a Samsung product that you can use to replace Task Manager. Whenever I don't use it, my battery drains real quick, and without a specific pattern. When I use Active Apps, and use the Ram Manager level 2 kill, my battery drain instantly gets much lower. 5 hours unplugged yesterday only drained my battery like 11%. Compared to up to 30% otherwise. Hope this helps others too!
Try the app "juice defender " in the market. It makes my battery last 2ice as long

How long after battery calibration should I see a difference?
I need to reiterate what has been said: first, install Juice Defender and learn to tweak those settings, it's well worth it. Second, undervolt that puppy with Nemesis2all's latest kernel. At idle, my phone might last 48 hours [not tested].
I only ask because when I recalibrated my battery (charged fully, wiped stats, drained battery, fully charged with phone off) my battery life is worse

I update OTA last week on Verizon to Froyo 2.2. My battery was overheating and draining like crazy from my CPU usage being at a constant 99%..
I found the source of the problem. An app I use for facebook called "FLOW". The CPU usage was cut to 20% when I killed it with "Advanced Task Killer".
I resolved the issue by: Opening Flow.. going to Preferences.. Notification Settings.. Refresh Type.. Checked Periodic Polling (I was using Gmail Experimental previously)
Hope this helps...
Hey,
I flashed lighting rom yesterday and was my first custom rom I have ever experienced. I love it, however battery life is worse than stock rom and I have done a recalibration of the battery. Is there something im not doing because I was lead to assume that my battery life would improve.
If there is something I am not doing, please enlighten me.
Thanks

From my experience a custom rom uses power pretty much the same as stock but once you root the phone you can freeze processes which then save the battery.
On stock I was getting screen on time of about 4.25 hours but now on villain rom I got just over 5 and still had 22% battery left.
I use ant tek app manager to freeze the processes.
I am sure people are going disagree with me here but I really think people are expecting a little too much out of this liddle-o-battery, if your phone is running at 1.2 all the time then its gonna suk-da-juice. I don't pick ROMS based on its battery performance as most now have battery optimisations cooked in as soon as they are found anyway. I just make sure I have some practical SETCPU profiles set to keep those megahertz at bay but also charge my Phone at work so it don't cost diddly anyway.
I also have a spare batter just in case
When the phone turns on, the camera makes a noise like it is coming on, is this normal? If not this could be it, however I have also noticed that the drain is absolutely massive when the screen is on (almost 10% in 20min)

To have ANY idea about whats going on with your phone post screenshots of settings > about phone > battery.
Of both the graph and of the list of %'s
Also what rom/kernel/modem
Only thing which is suspicious is that display is a lot higher than normal, possibly due to the crt bug where auto brightness is not very good, have now set it to manual.

Not a clue, without screenshots I cant know how you are using your phone etc
Fair enough, I may see how my use is tomorrow, I have installed juice defender so hopefully that will help things, I really like this ROM
I flashed litening rom 2.0 then cwm flash update 2.1 + 2.2 coming from stock rom noticed a battery life increase of about 50%.
Hey guyz....
I am using cm7.2 custom rom with v6 supercharger and die-hard battery caliberator (provided by zepplinrox). Its has been working absolutely perfect but suddenly for some reason my battery is draining out like water. An hour of screen-off drained out 7-10% of my battery. Please help me out

have you installed any apps that would drain the battery quickly? try installing cpu spy and seeing if your phone is going into deep sleep.
I have cpu spy and it is going into deep sleep alot and i havent installed anything that would drain my battery...

First advice I have is to get rid of the v6 supercharger.... its the general consensus that it doesn't do anything for the streak and you can also forget about the battery calibration... just do it the old fashion way... full charge and discharge couple of times them delete battery stats.... so my advise is do a full wipe of CM without tweaks and apps... calibrate battery normally and go from there

Now you've done it. The supercharger defense committee is going to come out of the woodwork because you recommended that someone remove it from their device.
On a serious note, I completely agree in that the supercharger needs to be removed as being unnecessary. I've never used it and my Streak hums along quite nicely without it. The battery calibration? I prefer the app I use, Battery Calibrator, which has one very large button that deletes the battery stats file and does nothing else. It's a bit quicker to use Battery Calibrator than to go into StreakMod and wipe battery stats that way.

well if you noticed I didn't generalize the post... I specified the Streak (although I have tried all his scripts on ALL 8 of my Android devices and removed all scripts from all devices)
I thought about mentioning Battery Calibrator but I was trying tto keep him from installing anything...
THANKs for the show of support by the way

Also check recently installed apps, that was the major reason when I had that problem.
Ok...i have put a new rom irself since i had to wipe everything...im using dsc 1.1 nw...the problem of draining seems to have vanished
now i tried the battery calibration app from the market (the 1st 1 on search result by NeMa). For some reason it said that my phone needs to be rooted...
also do i need that app if im using the dsc mugen power config??

Battery Calibration is looking for Superuser permissions so it can delete the battery stats file located in the system directories, which are not normally accessible to the user. DSC should already include the SU and Busybox binaries, but if not simply go to the Play store and install them.
My phone is experienceing severe battery drain whenever i use an app.
i tried switching between the leedroid v5.4 and nonsense 3.1 roms but both had the same problem anyone know a fix.
BTW i did not overclock
What wasted the battery
WHen i check to see what used teh battery is shows

I noticed that my phone does that when I am in a weak service area. The radios use a lot of juice trying to get/keep a signal. You could try Better Battery Stats or Bad Ass Battery Monitor to see in more detail what is using your battery.

you can also try to calibrate your battery with serval apps! type in play store : battery calibration ! they all do the same job and preaty good i must say..
i recommend you to try : Battery Calibration free . thats for rooted users and does great job!
Alright Thanks
I sorta realised it was due to my connection as my school has a really bad reception and thats where teh majority ofteh drain occurred will download that app
My personal experience!!!!! Flame me not!!!!!!
Ok here goes:
I don't use any battery calibration apps or system tuner or task killer any more. I test my battery like I test my gas mileage: ALL THE FRIGGIN' TIME!
I've found I get better battery life without these extra apps. However, I also completely strip all ROM's I use of completely unnecessary apps and their respective widgets (HTC News, HTC News and Weather, Jetset Printer, Stocks, Twitter, Picasa, Google +, etc.)
Now, the only app I would recommend and have heard from multiple sources and threads is Better Battery Stats. It has a nominal fee, however, is worth it. I will show you what is draining your battery.
You could also have wake lock problems. Who knows? Get some diagnostic info to post to better help those trying to help you. Help me, to help you! LOL!

Flame on! Just kidding. I also have never calibrated my battery as it is useless according to the Android engineers at Google.
The reason I also recommend Bad Ass Battery Monitor is because it is a little more user friendly.
Also, there is an xda version of Better Battery Stats that is available in these forums for free, although the Market version is cheap and supports the dev.

i have some problem, when my screen active, i put it to my pocket, then my body touch the screen and do random process abaout 45minutes.. done with 40% battery gone x_X.. i think u must tell us how long u use app
You can use battery calibration. you can find it in the android market
Have you tried reset battery stats then full charge, use it for a couple of minutes then full charge again? Don't know why it works but I have used this method on a couple of Roms and it seems to help
try clearing your battery stats full charge ur battery n then let it discharge fully then full charge once more n recalibrate it..should work
The main factor for preventing battery drains is to have a good modem that doesn't overheats the phone, using a ROM with deep sleep and a battery friendly kennel like Siyah or Fluxxi. Try to get those three things fixed and you should not have any more battery drains
Turn auto brightness off also make sure none of your apps are using your GPS all the time. I think the problem may be app related I would roll to a stock kernel and only use apps that are must need and see if that helps. Also your battery could be shot . How old is it ?
