Cool, but I like to do things manually. Simply use root explorer (or cmd / terminal) and browse to system/app and just delete the .apk's you don't want, reboot and apps are gone

Deleting system apps

Hi
I used Sgs tools to do a camera hack and now my camera is screwed always force closes...
I have my old cmeras apk but I can't install it wouldn't let me.
Do I have to uninstall the order camera so I can install this?
And how?

If you can mount your sd card to your computer, then go to /system/app these are your system file apps. You can manually put the .apk file in there, but then you have to use something like Androzip to actually install (just finding it in /system/app and clicking on it will install it, or use the default Files app.)
Duddeee! Thanks in did what you said but with root explorer and now everhthings fine. I thanks man!

hey,
that method leads to FC's and installing the apk leads to app not being installed.

The same thing happens to me when I try to install the Swype app....
Thanks for the link. How the heck do I get it to work without the constant force closes?
make sure it's named vendor.apk and change permissions to fit the other system apps.

Thanks for the market tips. Everything worked fine. My biggest problem is with the swype. f/c's start when I reboot phone. Running CM stable for vibrant. Don't know how to fix...
Good news, I updated to CM nightly 168 and the FC problem stopped for now.

If you having problems installing the swype apk... you can use Ti backup to uninstall swype, then reboot (important). install swype directly through "files" app or "my files". Worked for me!!
you guys realize that swype updates itself through the settings>input>swype settings> ..
right??? I guess its after the last update mines been updating
Any themes around?

Can I delete google now on MIUI?

I am running MIUI on CDMA and I do not like Google search w. Google now. I used root unisntaller to delete the app off the ROM and installed an .apk I had saved. The problem is when I reboot my phone the original app restores is there a way to permanently keep it the way I want it?

Try this. Go into system/ app folder click on the apk's properties and uncheck all the permissions then delete apk and reboot. Let me know if that helps.
