[Q] backup bluetooth pairings? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to do this so when I flash a new ROM I dont have to redo the pairings on my cars handsfree setup?

You can through Titanium Backup. You can also backup wifi settings.

Is this done through backing up system settings batch backup? I would prefer not to do that because of the problems that can cause. Thanks for the reply.

It is but I have never had an issue doing this.

I have had issues related to restoring system data when switching to a different ROM in the past with forced closes and reboots.
Thanks for the reply.

Yeah it's in there somewhere. I'll go look through my TiBackup and if I can find it I'll come back. I don't use BT much though so I've never had to make a backup.
EDIT:Wow thought it was going to have some discrete name or something. Nope. It's called Bluetooth Pairings.

Ok, so its listed where the apps are. I see it now. I was under the impression i would have to restore all system data to get this but just backing this up should work for just bluetooth pairings.. I thank you for your response.

Ive been doing some studying on http://matrixrewriter.com/wiki/tiki-index.php
apparently the green stuff can be safely backed up and restored on new ROM flashes. I hope it solves what Ive ran into (testing ROM/kernels wiping and resetting up I now have 8 or more of each contact in my contact list)

ROM with no phone

I'm looking at upgrading to a newer phone next month and I was wondering if there was a ROM out there that didn't have the phone portion set in. I want my phone to be like a iPod so my kids can play with it.

take out the sim card
Yea I thought about that, I just don't want 911 called by accident, cause even without a Sim they could still call

I think if you were to freeze phone specific things it couldn't harm anything, but I recommend you go to froyo then do it, for the sake of battery or you could just put it in airplane mode then hide the phone related apps I'm sure that would disable 911 too
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
I have what you need, let me remove the phone short cut from the launcher and I can get you into a rom set up as nothing but a media player.
Should have around 50 megs footprint.
Let me know if interested.
Edit: I'll put it together and post it for everyone, tonight hopefully.

[Q] MAPservicesamsung process stopped

On stock ICS with factory reset. This happens randomy a couple of times each day. Never happened on GB.
Same on my friend's phone. Any suggestions?
I had the same issue when I tried sending text messages or opened my inbox. It caused a lag of 10-15 seconds.
It seems to be related with bluetoothmap.apk.
I never use bluetooth, so I wiped the bluetooth appdata and deleted all the bluethoot apps with titanium backup (made a backup first just in case).
This fixed it for me.

Download the package file, Reflash your official rom via odin, not over kies.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
I'm not sure if that will work for borchgrevink.
In my case the problem started to occur because I flashed the original rom with Odin.
For me this issue was caused by restoring data using Titanium backup for SMS. To fix you MUST never restore data this way. Instead use SMS backup and restore app.
Better still install go SMS and uninstall stock SMS app using TB for good!

Well this happened to me when upgrading to ICS without reset, and also after a factory reset.
Never happened on GB. Is it an OS bug or rogue app?

It's something to do with changes to the SMS storage database as far as I can tell.

I don't want to root either and I keep getting the same problem. Anyone who has the this should contact Samsung until they fix it, they should treat us better after we buy their expensive phone. The Chief Exec of Samsung Mobile is at [email protected] they'll fix it is a few people email in.
Just emailed [email protected] let's see if they reply back

Unable to text

Hi. I am unable to send any texts. After I applied dirtyracun successfully, I decided to start fresh and wipe the internal storage(first time I did that), factory reset and system. This is very discerning as I tried methods from Sprint forums and didn't work. I even flashed team Venom rom again to update prl and profile and still nothing.

EDIT: mysteriously solved
I just got this and all the sudden I can send again.... What the heck was that? This was immediately after restoring for the 3rd time from smsbackup+.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
I have never used smsbackup+ never seen anything like it
Are you on an aosp ROM?
Sometimes i get something similar after flashing and i think its the phone reconnecting to sprints network.

This problem was fixed and I believe it was from a bad restore from the call/sms log backup app smsbackup+.

Annoying SMS POPUP NOTIFICATIONS

Hello All,
This is regarding one of the most annoying issue that many users like me are facing.
I'm currently running neat rom lite version 4.7.
Please know that I have searched through Google to know about this issue, but apparently there were only problems mentioned but no solutions for it.
Please look into the attached image and suggest if anything can be done with regard to this?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Nothing of this is mentioned on the ROM thread?
Looks like an ad, a factory reset should solve it.
It must be related to a certain app; which one? I dunno
Sent from the little guy
Hehe.. The funny thing is that i have tried multiple rons but its always been there.. It is defintely not coming from a user installed app
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Not so lite after all.
Are you sure the dev doesn't know how to remove that or why it's there?
Hold on, there's got to be a way to disable that, check your settings.
Sent from the little guy
Haha..
Well I hope someone can come up with a solution for this

Have u tried looking into the 'Settings' of the Sms app and seen any option there to turn of the 'Pop up notification' for now
That would have been the first thing someone like me would be looking at

Maybe there is something wrong......after wipes, did you use Titanium Backup to restore apps?Maybe one of them is creating the issue. Also, you can try to run a Nuke Script, after hat flash a CM 4.2.2 ROM
Well after reinstalling the rom, i used a software called mybackup pro to restore everything.
If i remember right, even after the full wipe and reinstall, this problem persists
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
That's a settings conflict, restore the app, try txting and then restore your previous settings.
Sent from the little guy
Could you please make it clear what you meant?

Factory reset.
Txt yourself.
Pop up notifications shows up?
Only restore apps.

You can save bluetooth pairing and wifi ap's with titanium backup. Dont know if the free version will do it so you might have to purchase pro.

Yeah, I never use Google backup. To many devices on my account (five total). End up getting my kids games and such restored to my phone. I guess my experience with titanium is mostly with my old thunderbolt... the accounts, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc., never seemed to work, but we were working off of a lot of cobbled together bases. So I never really tried it with my more modern devices.
