Selling my G Tablet - How to remove personal data - G Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am selling my g tablet tomorrow morning and I want to remove all me personal data before I hand it over.
I am running vegan 7.0 and when I went to privacy and wiped device, it rebooted and didn't remove anything at all.
Any ideas on how to keep vegan 7.0 on it and wiping my personal data?
Thanks,
Eric

It would seem to me like you would simply wipe the sd card and reinstall the vegan rom.

That's what I decided to do. Thanks!

Wipe data/Factory reset in cwm then partition to 2048/0 in cwm.

Atrix rebooting continuously on Stock ATT 2.3.4 after Opera installation

Hi,
I'm running stock ATT 4.5.91 plus root applied. Just some minutes ago I tried to install Opera Mobile from the market and during installation the phone rebooted. After that, the system keeps rebooting at the unlock screen (all I can see it is mounting the storage system).
I tried wiping cache from stock android recovery but it still keeps rebooting.
I guess a factory reset could solve the problem, but I'd like to save some data I have on the internal memory. Is there any chance of saving them?
Thanks in advance!

Not sure if the stock recovery allows it but can't you mount usb & then save whatever needs to be saved?
Stock recovery doesn't include that option. Still, I connected the phone to the computer and never happened.
you want to save the stuff thats on your "internal sd card" or data that is on the /data partition? if oyu do a factory wipe it asks you if you want to wipe internal sd or not, so if you want to save data form there you can do a factory wip and it shouldnt wipe it. Otherwise flash a service sbf (if you are on stock 2.3.4 with that bootloader, you can only flash the 2.3.4 sbf or eventually pudding sbf but than you need to unlock your device, which deletes your data, so the onyl option is stock 2.3.4 service sbf)

I just did the wipe data/factory reset and it left the internal sd card untouched, so that was perfect! I didn't know that this option just erases /data.
Now I'm going to unlock the bootloader and install a better recovery and CM7. If this is going to happen again, there is no point in remaining stock (at least in my case).
Thanks both for your help!

Best way to "clean off" the G-Tab

Am looking at handing my G-Tab over to someone else and do not want to leave my paid apps/private login stuff on there. What is the best (fastest/easiest/safest) way to clean it off?
Is there a Factory reset that does that or do I have to re-flash the ROM or what? It is currently running one of the last versions of FlashBack.
I'm about to sell my tablet too. What I'm gonna do is format the sd card, data wipe/cache, wipe dalvik and battery stats. It should completely delete everything

a couple of things to consider. If i was going to, I would:
/settings/privacy/factory reset
then cwm.
mount menu
format everything?
partition
4096/0 then back to 2048/0
then mount usb -copy over an update and install via cwm or nvflash stock 3588 or higher.
that should wipe everything for good...lol..maybe

[Q] Wipe Personal Data?

Just like everyone else, I have moved on to the new SGS 3 phone. And now I am selling my fascinate very cheap to a coworker. But before I can do that, I need to get rid of all my personal data on there. What is the best way to ensure all my personal information is completely wiped from the phone and microSD?

Reformat the sd card then odin back to stock eh03
What software is currently on it, and what software do you want to be on it when you give it to him?
If you want him to have the latest official release just ODIN back to EH03 with the PIT file. That will wipe everything from the phone. If you want to keep any custom rom and Kernel then reboot into recovery and do a data, cache and dalvik wipe.
If you want to wipe the SDCard go into Settings when the phone is booted up and under "Storage" there should be an option to unmount and erase the card. You can also try it from CWM under Mounts and Storage; there's an option to wipe the sdcard.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for the quick responses. I have stock Android 2.2 on it, with root. I suppose I could bring it up to the latest stock version.

[Q] Insufficient storage after complete factory reset

Ok, so I had the classic insufficient storage problem, so I simply backedup the data I needed, then I did a full factory reset. When it rebooted, I started to download Instagram, and it worked fine, but that was it. All the app updates and new apps cant be downloaded because I still have insufficient storage. WTF??? I nade sure that I unchecked the "restore ny data" box before I did the reset. Whats also weird is I'm still rooted and Super User is still installed. Anyone know how to get rid of all this rubbish data? All I want to do is have it go back to the state it was in when I took it out of the box.
Thanks in advance!
CJ
From where you did the wipe?
Wiped cache?
Wiped Dalvik?
Wiped data/user?
From recovery?
Factory resetting does not revert root or any ROM, it simply return the state AFTER the flash with no apps.
Completely wipe the device and install complete stock with odin.
Fix permissions should do the trick ...
Use Lucky patcher->Troubleshooting->Remove fixes and backups (insufficient storage available). That helps.

[Q] Format internal sd

Hello
I recently rooted and flashed LiquidSmooth onto my SG3 I747M and i would like to get rid of all the junk on my internal harddrive. I was wondering what the procedure would be to wipe my internal harddrive (So i do not have any random folders or old app files) on TWRP without losing my custom rom and root. Would i have to save the backup (just incase), custom rom and root on my sd card and just install it right after I wipe my harddrive?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated
Thank you!
Wipe cache and go to /system/app and /data/app and delete unwanted apps. That should be enough.

boot into twrp, go to the wipe menu, and wipe everysingle thing. Then reflash your rom. That will wipe everything, and reinstall liquid smooth.
Doing this wont brick your phone or make you lose root.

Thank you! This is exactly what i was looking for. What would i be wiping though? Obviously Cache, Dalvik and Factory Reset but do i have to wipe System, Internal storage and format data? (What does format data do)?

yeah wipe everything including system, and internal storage. format data formats the data partition of the phone, which is also necessary.
The only thing you dont have to wipe is your external sd card (if you even have one). Press thanks if i helped.
