You will never find a CM rom with a stock kernel as CM doesnt use anything that is from the OEM. they only use AOSP kernels and coding. Nothing from Sony,HTC,samsung, or Motorola.

[Q] some questions on winzip porting ... ??

Hello XDA .. i have some questions on Winzip porting ... any help is appreciated
1) can we port rom's from other devices using this method .. ?? (eg.. htc sense rom to xperia mdpi devices..)
2) can we port Rom's from hdpi to mdpi using this method .. ?? (eg xperia arc rom to xperia mdpi devices)
1- yes and no. its easier to be said than done. no non-htc phone have ever get fully functional sense rom port due to drm issue, ever. and port can be easy if both phone got similar hardware, eg port from neo to mini, port from arc to mini, port from ray to mini, but never port from galaxy nexus to mini.
2- yes. but some graphic needs to be resized.

I think you have to change this value in build.prop
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=
to 160

Only hardcore developers can do that.
Anyway the sense xperia project is going on and you can expect to see a working ROM in few months

Locked vs. Unlocked bootloader?

I have been wondering what's the difference between locked and unlocked bootloaders? Is it about the capabilities that you are able to do with an unlocked bootloader or what is the thing between them?
Sent from my Xperia U using xda app-developers app
Hi, its not related to phone performance, its related to flashing custom ROMs mate.
There are recoveries which you can use to flash custom ROMs on locked bootloader, but you will never taste ROMs like Cyanogen Mod, which is only for unlock bootloader.

With unlocked boot loader you can install custom kernel

Is there any way to install custom kernels on locked bootloaders? Mine XU's bootloader is locked (unlockable) and I'm running firedroid which is based on (if I remember correctly) FXP146 or 147, and those are based on cyanogenmod, right?

You cant bro, the only thing you can do is flash kernel for locked bootloader and install roms for locked bootloader.
So the only difference between locked and unlocked are the mods you can install (i.e. user interface)? So if I'm happy with my UI there's really no point in unlocking?

Stock kernels are set with limitations.. Whereas Custom Kernels dont have.
The problem is most custom kernels dont support 480p or 720p video recording like stock kernels.
I am having a NEO V with Stock Kernel and a Custom ROM (UHD 4.0) with Root privileges.
Depends upon the type of ROM u r using. Mobiles with 720P support give their best with Stock Kernels.
basically you will never see past ics (on a U) if you have a locked bootloader

Yes, you can use that ROM in locked bootloader as it is SONY stock modified ROM. Any ROM which can run on stock kernel doesn't need an unlocked bootloader. ROMS like CM9, MIUI are based on Android Stock ROMs and require separate kernels.
Thanx bro...

[Q] About Rom Porting!

How can I port Desire 500's rom to Desire Sv? Both have armv7. Can someone help me?
sorry
sorry if u do this
desire 500 have jelly bean and sv have pics
if u port jb rom on ics your kernel is not support jelly bean coding if u copy kernel your stuck on bootloop don't try plz.....
If both roms have the same Android version as each other then porting should be fine but if you were trying to porting an jb rom using an ics rom then this would work because not only would your kernel not boot but there will be other errors.
