Yeah, our korea Galaxy S2 will be released today or tomorrow. (It's KST - GMT +09 time)
Perfectly Korean version include NFC function.
But, korean version S2 too many localised to Korea
(like non-standard mms spec, smaller frequencies support than EU version,many bloat ware...ETC)

It was apparently to keep the device as thin as possible. Some GS2's outside of the UK, the US and east asia will also be running on Tegra 2 and SLCD.

I don't know any other region's galaxy S2 spec, but korea GS2 main H/W spec is same with UK galaxy S2. (same Exynos CPU 1.2ghz use, same AMOLED+ use)

It's a 1.2 GHz Exynos now, not 1 GHz.
Is there any info for NFC for any other region?
I'd love to play with an exynos... but I much rather having one that has NFC considering I have the atrix... so the performance on exynos over tegra isnt that important but I'd love to experiment with nfc...
Also is the mms + sms difference in the korean version hardware or software?
As it has an unlocked bootloader, if its just software then I wont worry too much XD

MMS spec is perfectly different.
Most of GSM carrier use OMA-MMS. but korea SKTelecom use theris own SK-MMS spec. Framework layer and application layer are PERFECTLY different.
If only application problem, you will replace another sms application (like handcent) but, framework problem is critical issue. If you fixed this problem, you will modify GS2 SMS/MMS framework. may be impossible.
And our Korea galaxy S1 can't buff from XDA. because not global model its korea localised model.
I think GS2 may be same..
So I recommend that buy your region's i9100 model or wait a SG2 later model.(like SG3?!)
So it will be unlikely that the korean version's software can be replaced with the international version then?

Definitely get the international version if you're planning on using custom firmware.
There seems to be a lot more development that has happened/is continuing to happen for this variant as opposed to the others. But as Nyssa mentioned, if you can get one (international) with NFC (so you can use it as a virtual wallet/tap to pay, etc) why not

I honestly don't know if the T-Mobile version will work in your country or not (I have international version). The T-Mobile has slightly bigger screen, different processor, 4 touch buttons, support for 42mbps data speeds, and supports 1700mhz UTMS...This is all as far as I know. You might want to do a bit more research about the features yourself.
You might want to ask your carrier if this phone will work on their network or not before buying it.

Are you sure you don't want a Galaxy Note? I wouldn't buy SGS2 now, when GN is out.
But if you get one, get the international.
AFAIK it's the same processor, only OCed a bit, what you can do with a custom kernel aswell.
T mobile sgs2 uses a qualcomm snapdragon which is based on the cortex A8 vs the A9 in the exynos and as such is slower clock for clock, so the 1.2ghz exynos is faster and has a better CPU.
I would go for the i9100, it supports GSM (2g) 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G 850/900/1900/2100 so make sure it will work on your network.

PS, I was bored so I checked the networks in Jordan, and as far as I can tell, they use 900 and 1800 so at least it will work on edge/2g and should work on 3g (old thread where someone said they are using a at&t iPhone 3g there on 3g fine, and the i9100 covers the same 3g bands) but I can't find any hard info so I can't be 100% sure.

I recommend buying the International i9100 BUT make sure it isn't the i9100G. It's far worse than the original i9100. Aside from that the AT&T SGS2 looks good too

Korean version is LTE enabled Quad Core with 2GB of RAM.
North American version is LTE enabled Dual Core with 2GB of RAM.
There are multiple korean versions for different carriers. The quadcore 2g lte model isn't out yet, and I can't remember what is already out (perhaps it is the same as the international version?).
The most important thing is to make sure the model works with the frequencies in your country/region - many countries are different in that regard.
Check the model number and google it, otherwise you might be stuck with a phone that has crippled data or reception (if it doesn't work with your region's bands).
Mines the quad core 2gb ram lte version from Korea it came out July 9 I got mine on Friday. But I been wondering the same thing I can't read Korean so the manual isn't worth squat to me. And can I use the custom roms that are made for us versions on this site for mine? Or will there be kernel compatibility problems?

I know that t-mobile will reveal their version of galaxy s3 on June 21 with S4 chip instead of quad core chip. Right now, I'm using t-mobile galaxy s2, and i can tell you that it sucks compare to the international version.
Do you guys know if the international version of Galaxy s3 will work on t-mobile hspa+ ?
International version of SGS3 will not work with T-mobile HSPA just yet.
T-mobile is changing their HSPA feq from 1700 to 1900 later this year but until then no.
So do you think with the upcoming upgrade it would be a good choice to purchase the international version vs. the Tmobile version?

kinda up to you really, if you can wait till tmo ups to 1900 (end of year) then ya get internat.
Im using the intl version with tmobile and i wouldnt advice it. Speed sucks plus if phone has problems tmovile will assist u.

My two cents are that atleast in htc devices like the one x the s4 us version is way better then the quadcore int. I have the at&t version and my brother have the int. Version and i could tell the s4 version is a lot faster and comsumes less batery that the international one my quadrant scores are from 4800 to 5000 and the internacional scores are from 4500 to 4800 i know that quadrants arent everything but in user intrrface and heavy games you can notice the diference...i cant tell that the s3will be the same story untill its realese but thats my experience

Just a FYI, it won't be the same. The international version has a much more powerful GPU. Pretty sure the processor will be a beast as well.

The US version has qualcomm chip which supports LTE, the Exynos does not... INTL version has 1GB RAM, and qualcomm has 2GB RAM, yes you can use an unlocked INTL I9300 on T-Mobile but will not get LTE and have less RAM... The trade-offs are up to you...

Because the Exynos processor doesn't work with T-Mobile's non-standard 42Mbps on AWS (1700 MHz) and it also doesn't work with the LTE. You can use the international one on T-Mobile but you'll only get EDGE data. If you use it on AT&T though you'll get up to HSPA+ because most of Europe uses the same bands as AT&T (850/1900 MHz). If you want to use international phones, T-Mobile is the worst carrier to be on in terms of data speeds, but they're moving to the same frequency as AT&T, so eventually you'll be able to use it on T-Mobile with up to 21 Mbps.

To be fair, the i9300 is a lot faster than the US models. But to be honest, unless you game, you won't notice a different. The 2GB of RAM was a "whoops, my bad" from Samsung for having to switch processors; RAM does not affect performance unless you have too little RAM. Even the Nexus 7 comes with 1GB of RAM. But anyways, it depends how you use your phone. The other big thing is that the US models have the "bug" or "feature" where you might lose your IMEI when flashing anything to the phone, with no chance (so far) to get it back, meaning you'd have to do a warranty swap to get a working phone. The i9300 also gets major updates first. Development, I would say, is about the same for both though.

I'll try to reply in a nice way before you get flamed by someone. The quad core version (International) does not support LTE, hence we have the dual core setup which does support LTE. You can use an international device on ATT and T Mobile minus LTE. If I recall correctly you may not even get HSPA + either but I don't know if that is true or not.

Because the LTE radio is separate from the Exynos SoC. The Exynos itself does not support LTE. Think HTC Thunderbolt. What this results in is horrible battery life. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 did the same thing with the Exynos dual-core, adding a separate LTE radio with the Exynos processor. If you need LTE, you're better off with the Snapdragon S4 (which is no slouch btw). We're at a cell phone generation where all CPU's perform pretty much the same (current gen meaning S4 - Tegra 3 - Exynos Quad) until you really push them. So again, unless you're benchmarking or heavily gaming, you won't notice a difference.
Also, yes you'll get HSPA+ on AT&T (I'm using my i9300 on Straight Talk), but only EDGE on T-Mobile.

Samsung supports developers. They gave the entire CyanogenMod team Galaxy S II's when they first came out. They hired Steve Kondik (Cyanogen), and they worked with XDA devs to try and fix the ICS recovery perma-brick issue on the SII, Note, and other phones. It's probably the carriers that messed with the software without knowing what they were doing.
if you haven't heard already from previous posts the USA s3 supports lte and the UK one doesn't and we also have 2gb of ram they do not but they have a quad core chip to even it out and to be fair.

I just got my new Samsung Galaxy S3 4G.
So the first thing was getting it rooted, everything was working fine. And then I wanted to flash a CM10 rom, but they haven't released one yet, since the Exynos sources hasn't been released by Samsung.
And as far as I know, Exynos is the CPU for the Samsung Galaxy S3 4G?
But here's the question: my Samsung Galaxy S3 4G got an Qualcomm CPU;

Btw, I'm from Sweden, and my carrier is Telia. And some of you might wonder how I know that I got the Qualcoom processor - It says it has the qualcomm processor on the box and there was a sticker ontop of the phone saying "Qualcomm".
And I heard that's why Cyanogenmod isn't developing it for the 4G, since they don't have the Exynos sources, but my phone got the qualcom, and as far as I know, samsung galaxy s3 also got the Qualcom.

No, I got 4 cores, I can monitor them all with SeeCPU, and it also says it on the box. Qualcomm Quad Core. And I live and bought it here from Sweden, from one of the biggest carriers in Sweden.
Better tell us what phone model it is under the battery .
