Next Rom I should Flash? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK, so it seems that Axura Roms are not being updated anymore! I am currently using Voodoo Axura 2.3.1.3 Rom and Kernel version 2.6.32.9 with KB5 Modem.
I would like to move on to a new Rom. Close to what Axura was. I like all the
custom stuff the Axura Roms had. So, I am asking what do you guys think would be the next best Rom for me to move on to? Must have Voodoo and no major bugs!
and things like Voodoo sound and themes would be a plus! thanks for the info and the help!
Peace out~

I'm using Bi Winning with the Bullet kernel. Fast as hell with great battery life and that's with it OC'd to 1.48ghz. No bugs at all, and there are several themes for it listed in the rom's op.

I switched to trigger from axura and I must say I'm very happy. Running it with overstock kernel and have all those extras you want and a nearly flawless vibrant.

I personally love Simply Galaxy. IMO best for my use. The blue black theming is great and its a super fast stable ROM.

They are all great. Try them out and see what you like. If you find that you like one developers releases or a dev team consider donating to them. If you want my personal opinion check out my sig.
On a side note wouldnt it be funny if someone named a ROM "ur mom" haha. People would be all "im currently flashing ur mom" & "i just flashed ur mom" lol haha.
- Or just "Rom"

The best advice is to try the roms for yourself. Everybody has different opinions on all the different roms there is. I know its time consuming but just read through their threads and see what the people running the roms have to say and just take the plunge and find out if you like it or not.

Kept Axura Rom but flashed a Overstock Kernel. Love the Voodoo sound and the overclock to 1.2g. Anyone know how the voodoo color works? Lol thanks

You have to turn the screen brightness all the way up. Doesn't do much with auto brightness enabled.

Bionix frost and bionix???

What is the difference between bionix frost and bionic. And not just the whole 2.2 and 2.2.1 thing, but real differences. Thanks

Eh nothing you will really notice. Don't expect a feature filled update.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk
Bionix-V is the older more stable version and the Bionix Frost is the newer, in Beta testing development version.
Another difference is that Bionix-V is based on the software that Samsung put on the Vibrant, while Frost is based on the software that is on the new Samsung Galaxy S 4G. Since the base for Frost was originally made for a different phone, more effort is required to make it work on the Vibrant.

Not disagreeing persay but Frost is just as stable. Only issue I've had is a slight menu lag.

But this has to be the 3rd+ post this past weekend regarding Bionix/Frost/2.2/2.2.1
and "whats the difference"
I'm sorry but the only way for be to access xda is by the app ans the search function on the apologize is $hit. If it wasn't I wouldn't have posted 3/4 of what I have. But on last question, what's the difference between 2.2 and 2.2.1

I personally like Bionix V. Been using Team Whiskey roms for a while now and they have yet to disappoint. In the end, its just a matter of preference.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Bionix-V seems to have very few bugs. The bugs people are reporting, most users cannot duplicate their problems. Frost, well it still needs some tweaking before it's ready as a "daily driver" as stable/fast as Bionix 1.3
i've tried both. after enabling voodoo on the latest frost, i've noticed a considerable difference from the initial build. bionix is ULTRA stable. there is no doubt that it is the more stable of the two. however, IMHO i haven't noticed a huge difference between the speed or usability of either...if you would rather deal with less "potential" bugs, then i would suggest you go with Bionix V.

Voodoo color/sound

Still fairly new at all of this, was wondering if it is possible to overclock and do anything with voodoo color/sound using the superclean rom? Or would I need to change roms?

roms have nothing to do with that..its kernels...if you are on eclair you can use overclock/undervolt kernels some of which build in voodoo sound/color
on froyo there is none of that until source is released
Thank you, that clears things up nicely...

So basically:
OC and voodoo color/sound vs. the benefits of Froyo...
Decisions, decisions...
OC not a big deal, phone feels damn fast now running DarkRevenge, is color/sound cool?

if you listen to music through headphones then yeah voodoo sound is worth it...color only works on brightest settings
oc i could really careless...undervolt...well thats something i miss from eclair
but ill take froyo as is over the most decked out eclair any day
Yeah, I'm sticking with Froyo I believe... Although the headphones thing would be neat... Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I tried both of the EC10 voodoo kernels, both the one with sound&color and without. Both have reports of calls not ringing and going straight to voicemail (this happened to me as well). Also today on the sound/color one my clock went out of sync. I went back to the EB16 working one (look for the one in the thread that has "working" in the filename) but it's too soon to see if it helps.

[Q] What is the best Voodoo Kernel to go with ED01

I have stock ED01 on my Fascinate. I want to get a Voodoo kernel back on the phone to negate the lag. Not sure which Kernel would be the best one to get because I am a n00b
I to want to know what voodoo kernel to use someone please answer
I'm pretty sure any of the froyo kernels would be fine. Personally, I'm using nemesis' kernel since it has the most customization and it works fine.

Using jts kernel because of personal preference. Other ones are heavily modded. Namely undervolted a lot.

I use Nutty Kernel. Im a ultra heavy user and still get 14hrs + 32%. For moderate use, I think I can go for 3 days.

Cool I just flashed this rom. I like everything except the black everthing theme. Not a big fan but for now that stuff takes a back seat to working fast phone with good battery life.
So far this ROM is very fast. I am liking that. No showstoppers for me. No major bugs although I did have one lockup/reboot when I first opened the camera. Might need to pull the battery, because I haven't done that since before I flashed this ROM/Kernel.
Very nice overall.
I just flashed the new rom and I gotta say I love it....except for one thing. I can't seem to get any sound to work with the startup. I have the poweron.wav file in the right spot... i think... but still no sound. Can anyone confirm if the community rom allows startup sound?
