I cannot get this thing into download mode. Im trying to use ODIN to get back onto the stock firmware. Ive tried holding down on the volume button. Ive tried holding down volume up as well as both of them and nothing. I recently unrooted. I was running Bioix1.7 and i decided I didnt want use it anymore.
I nandroided back to stock ROM so my baseband is still ji2. I tried to upgrade via kies seeing that it says on the website that it would work even on ji5. I got the unegistered device error. Ok.
Solution from what Ive read is to ODIN back to jfd. So here I am nt able to get into download mode.
What worked for me was:
Remove battery from phone
Plug USB into PC
Re-insert battery into phone
While holding down volume up and volume down, plug USB into phone
Note: You'll need to have the correct drivers installed on your PC in order for Odin to see your phone.

If your phone is not soft bricked just use ADB .
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Odin sees my phone so I have the right drivers. I will have to give it another shot tomm. Tim for bed. God this thing is a pain in the a%# to mess with. My Hero was so easy once you got it rooted.
It was bothering me last night so I couldnt sleep. Ended up getting it working flashed back to stock all is good. Wake up this morning with the notification of the update.
Being back to stock I figured sure wy the hell not. And I should have done the Kies way.
Phone is now bricked. Just ot off the phone with T-Mobile and they are sending me a new one. So at least there is that.
Hm, so you had Odin'd back to 100 percent JFD stock and when you used Odin to flash JI6 it bricked the phone?

No the OTA bricked it. I thought it was odd and so I looked on the T-mobile forums and there have been a few people with that problem. I actually got a tech that said she had seen the issue on the forums but it was teh first call she had gotten about it.
Oh I see, the OTA bricked it. That's the same problem tons of people are having, and the same problem I had. I used Odin to get back to stock (unbrick my phone) and now I'm deciding whether to update to JI6 with Odin or Kies, or just wait for another OTA notification.
yeah I am wondering the same thing my self. I think I may give it a day or so see if i get the update when i get the new phoen or just do it with kies.
Hello Guys, sorry if this is not in the correct part of the forum. This is for a GALAXY ACE BTW,
Lets Begin!,
I have installed CM7 Couples of days ago and all when perfectly fine, but now I want to get back to a stock ROM of my phone as I preferred the the other ROM.
What have I tried and not worked so far:
Odin OneClick Downloader - ( i have done the remove battery and sim and sd also )
(USB Debugging is also on)
I have ran it as admin
Ran Odin First
Then Plug in
and Boot to Download Mode
and Also tried ADB Reboot Download
I have tried this on 3 of my computers and I keep on getting stuck on File Analysis on all of the 3 Computers.
I have tried the Odin Multiloader also but still no luck Flashing back to the STOCK ROM.
Anyone has any suggestion, I have also tried flashing a new on it and it gets installed but does Boot Loop at Reboot. But when I flash CM7 everything is fine. I also have another GALAXY ACE (well not mine another member of the family) if that is any help of like make a back up and that and sending it to my phone!?#
I can also send screenshot if needed.
bootloop???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20969794&postcount=2
and also use some specific version of odin for flashing phone..
you can find links in newbie guide or on sammobile
you've been "thanks" btw
Absolute start, did the same process using Coderom, i think i might do an nandroid of my sisters phone now and get back to the stock.
Thanks again
Help Please...I really need some now.
I had my phone unlocked and everything was fine. I have been updating the resurrection remix roms and enjoying them a lot. I was up to ver. 1.7. The problem is that I had some of the screen issues (fine horizontal lines on the screen) and I decided to get the phone repaired. I just got the phone back today and I noticed that Bell repair shop had wiped everything off my phone and put their stock version of ics on and the phone was no longer rooted. I have been trying to root the phone a few times now through Odin (like I did half a year ago) and at first it failed due to not being able to open the serial port. I opened Kies and the phone connected so I knew the drivers were ok. I tried Odin again and this time it went through and gave me a pass......but on reboot, it just hangs on the Samsung screen and I cannot turn the phone on at all now. I either am stuck on this screen or the CWM screen, but it won't carry out any command ie. power off, open zip from scard etc. I really need some help and quite worried about the phone now.
Please, please help
you allowed usb debugging?, go back to download mode and flash a kernel with root.
Go to download mode and flash a stock kernel. If you are unable to get into download mode because you said that your phone wont accept any commands for example pressing buttons then you could buy an USB jig. This will bring you directly to download mode. That would propably be your last chance.
Then flash a stock kernel back on there. Maybe the exact same which was on there before. Or just flash a stock full ICS Rom.

Yahoo!! I finally got the thing unstuck. I tried the Odin procedure again but this time I downloaded a more updated root kernel. It passed, then on bootup it wasn't stuck in space......although it still did not boot up properly. It ended up going just black...with no screen whatsoever. But the CMW program was working though and I was able to do a system restore from a month ago. I was very happy and very lucky I made that backup. Now, not only do I make the Titanium backup, but I also do a backup from the CMW program.....because now I know it's possible to freeze up before I ever get a chance to use Titanium. A good lesson indeed.
I was using my phone at work 3 days ago during lunch and it was running fine. I was playing a new Kairosoft game. Once my lunch was over I put the phone in my pocket and I went off to work. When my shift ended I pulled out my phone and it was stuck in a bootloop with the Cyanogen logo. I rebooted it and nothing worked. I went into CWM to re install the ROM and it freezes every time. I used oden to try and fix it to go back and unroot my phone to start fresh. I stepped out of my room to use the restroom and my little curious nephew comes in and grabs my phone in the middle of an update. Now when I turn the phone on it says firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again. I downloaded keys and it didn't recognize my phone. I can't even get into clockwork mod recovery anymore. On Odin it has the yellow bar and when I try and flash the files I need to go back to stock it fails when it writes the NAND. I really miss my phone. It has been a while since I have been here. I don't know if my phone is a ICS. I got it last year. I have searched everywhere and nothing seems to work. I'll keep searching because I am determined to get it fixed but I don't want to flash the wrong thing. My phone still goes to Download Mode. According to what I have read it means that it's still salvageable. I hope so. Thanks for the help!
If you can boot into download mode then just flash a rom from there? Problem solved

+1 it's all in the stickies
Hey guys,
I flashed Cyanide L on Friday morning with a clean install etc.. and my phone seems to have bricked itself while on the charger from Friday night into Saturday morning. I used it most of the day Friday and it seemed fine other than 1 random reboot. My phone will not boot past the Galaxy Note II screen when the phone first turns on, I can boot into recovery (Philz) but I don't see anything on the screen when I do (I get haptic feedback when I touch anywhere on the screen but I can't do anything.)
I tried for about 5 hours to use Odin in download mode and return to either 4.1.1 stock or 4.1.2 (I know using Odin to restore 4.3 will lock my bootloader which I am not interested in doing). However, Odin keeps failing when trying to write the recovery image to the phone. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for what I could do next?

Here's an older post with links that might be helpful ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57944591 ).
Make sure you're using the pit file when flashing the appropriate firmware in Odin.
Some common issues with Odin also are to make sure you're using a USB 2.0 port on your computer and use the phone's original USB cable or a good quality one if you don't have the original any longer. Also run Odin with Administrative privileges, make sure that Kies is not running in the background because it interferes with ODIN, and disable antivirus programs when running Odin.
Yeah something went wrong in Odin when I flashed the stock recovery the last time and I corrupted my EMMC as Product Name: (Blank) is showing up now.
RIP Note II it was nice knowing you.

Man... that sucks! I wonder if it was actually Odin, or if the EMMC chip just died. Either way, it doesn't really matter now. RIP Note 2.
