Hi, I recently bought a HD2. So far it's been fine & I've enjoyed looking at all the posts & tweeks that are available for it, on these boards.
I have a query though I recorded a 15sec video in portrait, the other day & transferred it to my computer, it played fine, & the right way up.
Since then, I think, I do the same thing, but all the videos come out in landscape mode even though recorded in portrait & when I transfer them to my computer they are on their sides.
I know I can rotate them using 'w movie maker' but what I can't understand is why the 1st one came out correctly & the rest 90 degrees out.
Any thoughts as to what I'm doing wrong?
TIA

I just went to check some videos I had recorded and they are all gone.
Some were just 2 sec hd tests and others were 2-5 mins long.
they default save to my media/video folder which I have some divx shows in there and those are all fine.
I recorded another to confirm its outputting to that folder.
I have around 14 videos that just magically disappeared.
Anyone have any idea why or what might have caused it?
Currently on Nero3, no voodoo. I havent redone the rom or anything like that since taking the last batch of my daughters xmas play, so im a little upset I didnt get to xfer them to my pc.
Also all regular camera pics ive taken are perfectly fine.
Press menu in the.video player and see if they've been hidden
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I dont think theyre hidden. I didnt play with any of that, and hidden or no, should show up when I connect to the pc.
Seems like the last weeks vids just never happened.
Hello guys
Every time I want to watch something in YouTube and we I click on the video that I want it show different one. I do factory reset and still the same
Anyone can help
Thanks
I know this is an old topic, but I recently got a tab and I'm finding the same issue. I've searched this here internet, but I can't find an answer anywhere.
Symptoms:
It doesn't happen on every video - sometimes I can go 5 or 6 vids without a problem.
When it does happen, it's basically like this - I select a video, and Youtube shows me some other video. The most common ones are:
a grainy boxing video
a clip from a Rob Schneider movie
some guy loading a machine gun
a group of women doing aerobics;
Others include
a baby watching TV
2 hot girls dancing
2 hot girls kissing
I can get rid of them by hitting the 'back' arrow and then re-clicking the video I wanted. It works the 2nd time.
Additional info:
There's no repeatable pattern. I can select the same video on different occasions - sometimes the problem happens and sometimes it doesn't.
Just in the last couple of weeks, I was seeing the same with the Youtube app on my android phone (a flashed Captivate). I uninstalled Youtube (which didn't remove it completely - just reverted to an earlier version) and the problem disappeared.
As there's no option to uninstall Youtube on the tab, I tried flashing a ROM to see if that would help (Starburst). It didn't make any difference - I'm still getting the problem.
It only happens within the Youtube app. If I watch a Youtube video via the browser, the problem doesn't happen.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks everyone
I have been noticing that youtube when in HQ mode has about a 5 second section where the voice and picture kinda match up and the pictures starts slowing down but then there will be 2 seconds where the picture speeds up to match the voice. The voice always sounds right, just the picture does a lil hop to catch up.
It's really noticeable if you watch the same video on your pc and then go back and watch it on your note.
Things I have tried:
I have tied using regular mode and it works just fine.
I have tried wifi and regular 3g connections. (haven't tried 4g yet bc I am about 2 hours away from any)
I have tried different wifi connections. (3 to be exact)
I have tried using the youtube widget and the youtube app.
I have tried the youtube website.
All of them do the same thing.
Has anyone else had/seen this issue?
Kevin Huffman
I'm going to bump this, i'm having the exact same issue. Had it before i rooted and overclocked the kernel, and even before i installed a custom rom. I've noticed that it only happens when i view a video in fullscreen/landscape, viewing it in portrait on Youtube is fine.
In addition, 1080p videos from my SD card play absolutely perfect.
It has to be a size/format issue
Hello All,
I did find that if I format a movie as the larger size it works just fine.
When looking at movies formatted for a Captivate (Galaxy S1 800x480) the note has the same issue.
I just got Game of Thrones Season 1 and I formatted it for the ipad (1200x760) and there is no issue at all.
Yay for weird stuff.
Hopefully ICS comes out and resolves the issue.
Thanks,
Kevin
I've only just uploaded some video I took of my daughter, and everything has come out flipped 90 degrees, even though I took the video the right way up on the phone ?
It even plays correctly in the phone ?
Is this correct ?

Click to collapse
That seems to be the way the camera works. Not sure why. I use Windows Live Movie Maker to rotate the video after the fact. It will be skinnier due to resolution changes but at least it's straight.
For future reference if you take the video with your phone rotated counter clockwise 90 degrees the video will auto rotate with the phone plus it will upload to computer correctly. Hope that helps.
Greetings XDA.
I have a slight problem with HDMI output that i am hopeing can be solved.
My TV Will not work at any resolution if it is running in 60Hz. Works for about 5 mins then degrades massivly untill i no longer can use the TV. Multi colourd lines flood the TV untill the tv is again flooded by a single colour static. (Think an old CRT TV with no arial attached) No idea what the problem is, or how to fix it. Same issue with games consoles and my PC. But i can get around that by outputing to 50Hz from my PC. All is well and works fine.
Tried my phone with HDMI output and it only seems to want to output at 720 60Hz. Which would be fine, but the TV as said above will not run in 60Hz for very long.
I cant replace the TV, as i have no money to buy a new or even second hand one.
I was hopeing that there was some way i could tell the phone to output at 50Hz. (Something like this app which i have tried but it didnt seem to detect my tv http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501414)
Preferebly without root, as its a contract phone and im unsure what the terms are.
Thanks in advance, hopefully i can get any answer. Cookies for all if i can get it to work!!
acess service menu
*#*#7378423#*#*
service tests>HDMI test>HDMI settings and change resolution/freq and set want you want
You sir are a legond! I cant see or seem to set a 50Hz option but these are the options i have:
1080P 60. This works to a point. i get the degrading the same as before. Which is odd as my tv is only 1080i.
1080p 30 Doesnt work, no picture output
1080p 24 Doesnt work, no picture output
720P 60 Works but this is the default i was having problems with.
SD Works flawlessly. It runs at 480p 60. TV seems very happy with it. Text seems a little blurry but the picture quality is still fantastic for me. Have ran 3 youtube videos and so far no degrading!
Only issue i see now is getting it to save that setting as the default. When i remove the HDMI , and plug it in again it resets back to 720P 60. I can go back into the service menu and change it to SD again. But i was now wondering is there a way i can make it default or shortcut the service menu/setting.
Anyhoo, you have fixed my problem! Where shall i send your cookies.
am no expert, but I'm learning, and not cost me anything to help.
on my xperia U i have the same option as you.
really is not worth having more options
is not worth getting default
excuse my bad English but im Portuguese
